Chapter 299: Tony's Fate

"Jack Wayne, do you take Wanda Maximoff to be your lawfully wedded wife, to live together with her in holy matrimony, and promise to love, respect, comfort, cherish, and remain faithful to her until death do you part?"

"I do."

"Wanda Maximoff, do you take Jack Wayne to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together with him in holy matrimony, and promise to love, respect, comfort, cherish, and remain faithful to him until death do you part?"

"I do."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, in the presence of your family and friends, under the witness of God!"

The wedding ceremony was short, and there wasn't even a reception.

At first, Jack wanted to have the greatest wedding ever, but Wanda said she didn't want it to be too flashy.

He could tell she was worried, so he did what she asked.

They signed the marriage certificate, exchanged rings in the presence of the priest and everyone else, and declared their vows of love.

At the end of the wedding, Jack and Wanda give each other an intense kiss.

As the host, Jack made sure everyone was safely sent back home. Along the way, he met up with his friend Wenwu and had a drink with him.

When Steve's turn came, Jack was surprised and happy by what he had discovered.

"You're going to be a dad?"

Jack glanced at Peggy, who was talking to Nick Fury nearby.

She still seemed strong and determined, and it was hard to tell that she was pregnant.

"It's still early, but yes."

Steve looked at Peggy with love in his eyes.

"We've decided that we'll settle down in Santorini. There is a good place to raise a child there."

"Congratulations, my friend. You've found happiness in life."

"Thank you, same goes for you."

"Well... maybe."

Jack looked at Wanda, who couldn't stop admiring the ring on her finger. As he listened to her murmuring words, a sense of pride appeared on his face. He sighed deep down.

"We have to go, Peggy has a prenatal check-up."

Steve checked the time, shaking his head regretfully.

"I wanted to catch up with you properly."

"Next time, it'll be even better."

Jack patted Steve's shoulder with a somewhat mysterious smile.

Steve didn't catch on, called out to Peggy, and left for home while waving at Jack.

After seeing them off, only Nick Fury and Pepper remained at the scene.

Nick Fury didn't need a ride, so he said goodbye and left.

As for Pepper...

"I thought Tony would come."

"He went to Afghanistan early this morning for a weapons exhibition. He probably won't be able to make it back until tomorrow."

Pepper smiled apologetically, but her words made Jack raise an eyebrow.

"Hmm... Did he win an award last night?"

"He did, the military insisted on presenting it to him. It made him quite proud for a while."

Pepper shook her head helplessly and offered her gratitude for Jack's proposal, then got into her own exclusive car.

As the CEO of Stark Industries, she was always busy.

With everyone gone, Jack was ready to head back home.

He approached Wanda, who was still lost in her own world, murmuring something about being the first one or something that left him confused.

"Alright, Mrs. Wayne, it's time to go home."

He gently tapped Wanda's forehead, waking her up.

"What were you mumbling about?"

Jack held her hand and looked at it, nodding.

"It's beautiful, but you don't have to keep staring at it."

"You wouldn't understand."

Wanda pulled her hand back and tightly hugged Jack's waist, pressing her whole body against his.

"I've dreamt of this moment for so many years."

Wanda seemed to have something more to say, but Jack didn't catch it. He hugged her back, and in the next moment, they returned home together.

Zap!

A speck of dust fell from the ceiling, and the two looked up, sharing a smile.

"I'll fix it."

Wanda was eager to try, and with a wave of her Chaos Magic, the cracked ceiling instantly became good as new.

"Impressive."

Jack sensed it, and it wasn't an illusion, it was real.

Wanda had truly repaired the cracks in the ceiling.

In these two years, her knowledge of Chaos Magic had reached a level that surprised him.

Even the corrupted Wanda wouldn't necessarily be stronger than her.

"Well then, Mrs. Wayne, you go rest for a bit and choose a place for our honeymoon. I'll take care of some things."

Jack sent Wanda back to the room and then teleported himself to a desert wasteland.

Several US military Humvees were riddled with bullet holes on a dirt road cutting through the desert.

Aside from a few American soldier corpses and the craters from explosions, there was nothing else left at the scene.

"It looks like it has already begun."

Jack smiled, knowing that he had changed the future in some way.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away from the incident, in the desert.

There was a cave where many criminals with guns were hiding out.

The cave was filled with weapons, and almost every weapon had the Stark Industries logo on it.

A few old jeeps drove into the cave, and several criminals shouted in a language he didn't understand as they pulled a bloodied man in a suit out of the car.

Tony Stark is the only one who could have that sexy little mustache.

Fine wine...

Music...

Cheers...

Laughter...

And then, an explosion...

Bullets are flying...

Death...

"Ah~!!"

Tony woke up suddenly, gasping for air like a person who had been drowning and was now getting air again.

He pulled the oxygen tube out of his nose with force. For a few seconds, his head felt dizzy.

Once he calmed down, he finally remembered.

He had finished the weapons exhibition and was returning to the military base when he was attacked. The last scene in his memory was a missile made by Stark Industries.

Ironically, a missile that his own company developed and produced blew him up.

After figuring it all out, Tony looked at his situation and wasn't too surprised.

He had been through a lot, but he was pretty upset because he had been kidnapped.

However, Tony actually exhaled a sigh of relief and didn't seem to be worried after learning of his situation.

Just as he was about to sit up, he heard a voice behind him.

"If I were you, I wouldn't move."
