Chapter 253: The Unexpected Visitor

While Jack was busy doing good deeds, the atmosphere in the Star Labs was gloomy.

"How could this happen? How could this happen!"

Barry walked back and forth, his face filled with worry.

Since he returned, he has been nervous after being exposed to his true identity by someone.

"Barry, can you please calm down?"

Cisco couldn't bear it anymore and spoke up to comfort him.

"Think positively. Although the person knows your identity, it seems like he's not a bad person. Maybe you don't need to worry so much."

"Maybe?"

Barry looked at Cisco with a hint of frustration.

"Dude, he's a metahuman, and we don't even know his abilities. That kind of person is dangerous. And you say maybe there's no need to worry?"

Barry wasn't worried about himself. He was afraid that after knowing his identity, the person would hurt the people around him.

That was the warning given to him by Star City's Green Arrow. It's best not to reveal your identity while being a vigilante.

And now, it seemed like it was already exposed. If something happened to Joe and Iris because of him, he would never forgive himself.

Cisco realized he had chosen the wrong words and wisely decided to stay silent in the face of Barry's nervousness.

Caitlin couldn't help but explain to his friend.

"What Cisco meant was that even though the person knows your identity and we don't know his abilities, he didn't do anything bad to you just now. Otherwise... you might not have escaped."

"After all, he did say something about how if he was a bad person, you would already be lying down or something like that."

Barry was moved by Caitlin's words.

Yeah, the guy did seem to say something like that, but he didn't hurt him. Maybe, as he said himself, he wasn't a bad person.

And after giving it some thought, it seemed like the person was only mad at himself because of the careless words he had said.

Perhaps the person wasn't a bad person after all.

With this in mind, Barry secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe things weren't as bad as he had imagined.

He looked around and asked with a furrowed brow,

"Where's Dr. Wells? I still want to ask him about a few things."

"He's studying the data that was just transmitted. Maybe he can find a way to deal with that person."

"Hopefully."

Barry sighed. At that moment, his watch suddenly rang, and he looked at the time, and a look of panic came over his face.

"Oh no, I have to go to the police station. Otherwise, Captain Singh will kill me."

"Sorry, guys, I have to go."

After saying that, he changed into his suit at lightning speed and rushed towards the police station.

Thinking about Captain Singh's angry face, Barry increased his speed.

What he didn't know was that just in the hallway he had just run through, not even a wall away.

The Time Vault

It was a secret room Wells had built to hide things he had brought from the future.

Wells stood in front of the console, placing his hand on the light ring and accessing future news reports.

"Flash missing vanishes in crisis.

The date of the news was April 25, 2024.

Seeing that the future hadn't changed, Wells let out a sigh of relief.

The sudden arrival of Jack caught him off guard.

The fact that he knew the Flash's true identity made Wells have to take it seriously.

Even in the future, there were only a few people who knew the Flash's real name, and he knew them all.

Jack was most definitely a surprise!

Moreover, all of this hinted at another piece of information.

The future has probably already changed in some ways.

And this was not a good thing because even a slight mistake under the influence of a time paradox could erase him from existence.

Wells would never allow that to happen.

He turned around and went to his suit, taking off his glasses. A hint of hate flashed in his eyes as he looked at the yellow Reverse-Flash suit.

"No one can stop me from returning home!"

...

On the other hand, Barry, who had finally made it to the police station, smoothly received Captain Singh's scolding.

Singh didn't go easy on him just because he was his friend's nephew and gave him a half-hour lecture in his office.

Of course, Barry was already used to this kind of scene. Being late and getting scolded were routine for him.

As he came out of Captain Singh's office looking relaxed, he coincidentally ran into Eddie, who was escorting a prisoner.

"Barry, you got scolded again?"

Seeing Barry leave the office, Eddie seemed to know what had happened.

"Did Singh go easy on you? Though he enjoys scolding people, he's still a good boss."

Barry was well aware of that. Otherwise, if it were any other boss, he would have been fired a hundred times by now for his daily late.

"Yeah, I know."

Barry nodded and was about to find an excuse to leave when he suddenly realized that the prisoner in Eddie's hands looked familiar.

With his quick thinking, he soon remembered who the person was.

Wasn't this the same robber who attacked him last time?

Seeing Barry staring at the prisoner, Eddie curiously asked,

"Do you know him?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that."

Barry snapped back to reality and thought to himself that the guy in front of him had bad luck.

"Oh, by the way, I almost forgot. The person who brought this robber said he wanted to meet you. He's been waiting in the forensics lab for a while."

Eddie slapped his forehead, realizing what he had forgotten. He was annoyed with himself for almost forgetting.

"Looking for me?"

Barry raised an eyebrow, surprised. He didn't have many friends, so who could be looking for him?

After saying goodbye to Eddie, Barry ran up the stairs and quickly reached the top floor, where the forensics lab was located.

As the only crime scene investigator in the Central City Police Department, he had full access to the lab.

Entering the lab, Barry saw a figure that looked somewhat familiar standing in front of a whiteboard covered in clippings.

"Tsk tsk tsk, all these years, you never gave up, Mr. Allen!"

Hearing that voice, Barry felt a sense of worry. The person who knew his identity as the Flash had found him.

Barry's instinct told him to run away because he knew he could not beat this person.

But reason told him that if he left, the people in the police station might be in danger.

Right now, all he could do was pray that the person wasn't a bad guy.

"Don't be nervous... Barry, can I call you that?"

Seeing Barry's nervousness, Jack sighed helplessly and then sat down on a nearby chair, curious.

"Why do you think I'm a bad person? Have I done something wrong?"

"..."

Barry was also puzzled. Besides suspecting his metahuman identity, the person hadn't done anything wrong.

And not all metahumans are necessarily bad, right?

Thinking about this, Barry felt somewhat relieved. However, he quickly became alert again due to Jack's words.

"Of course, calling me a bad person might not be correct, but if we say I'm a good person, it's also not completely right. But that doesn't mean I'm a bad person either. People aren't strictly black or white, right?"

Jack waved his hand, changing the subject.

"Forget about that. I came to find you because I have good news."

He stood up, walked up to Barry, looked him in the eyes, and slowly spoke.

"Tell me, Barry, what is your wish?"

Barry "..."
