191 Chapter 191: Abilities

Actually, it's not a big deal.

It's just that Pietro accidentally awakened superpowers and used them in front of people.

Jack was not sure about this.

But overall, it's really not a big deal. As soon as the incident happened, S.H.I.E.L.D. got the news, and they handled the situation.

As for how they handled it, it's not important.

Phil came over, not only to bring an invitation but also to tell him something.

"Superpowers?"

Jack put down his bowl of soup and looked at Pietro curiously.

"What superpowers? How did you get them?"

"To be honest, I don't know either."

Pietro shrugged.

"I've been running fast since I was a kid, but... never as fast as today."

He looked at Jack excitedly as if he wanted to brag about it.

"You know, my speed is even faster than a race car. In an instant, I went from one end of the alley to the other..."

Just as he was halfway through his bragging, Wanda ruthlessly interrupted him and mocked,

"Then you fell down and hit a trash can. If it weren't for my sharp eyes, you should still be doing laundry with stinky clothes right now."

"Oh, speaking of that, your powers are cool too."

Pietro smiled awkwardly.

"I can't help it. Those thugs were bothering Sprite, and I did what was right."

"Hah, yeah, doing what's right almost got you in trouble!"

Wanda looked at him sarcastically.

"Next time you want to do the right thing, think about what you can do. If you hadn't suddenly awakened your superpowers, you would have gotten beaten up."

"And I've been warning you for a while now, don't get too close to Sprite. There's something not quite right about her."

"Not quite right?"

Jack, quietly enjoying his soup, raised an eyebrow when hearing this, showing interest.

"This Sprite, what's not quite right about her?"

He had learned the situation, how Pietro tried to help their classmate and got into trouble, almost crashing into a trash can if Wanda hadn't used chaos magic to save him.

But these were minor matters, and he believed that S.H.I.E.L.D. would handle them discreetly.

Instead, it was this Spike that caught his attention.

Wanda possessed chaos magic, and her intuition was usually accurate. If she felt something was off, then it must be.

"I can't quite put my finger on it, but she just feels strange."

Wanda frowned, uncertain.

"And I always feel like she's intentionally getting close to me."

"Maybe she likes you."

Pietro shrugged teasingly.

"Perhaps you should consider... Oh, whoa, hey, that's dangerous."

Before he could finish his sentence, Wanda grabbed the apple beside her and threw it at him.

Luckily, Pietro was ready for it and just barely dodged it, keeping him from getting hurt again.

"Alright, let's eat."

Jack stopped their teasing and slowly started drinking his soup, secretly instructing the Red Queen to investigate some things.

After dinner, Jack took a quick shower. Wanda insisted he needed good rest and almost forced him into bed.

Lying in bed, thinking about what had happened recently, he felt that similar things might happen more often.

In the middle of a multiverse crisis, he should not just worry about himself.

For now, he needed to work hard to improve his abilities.

Speaking of which, He looked at his body from the inside out. Although his recovery was slow, he had made some progress.

Based on his estimation, he should be fully recovered in about one or two months.

Of course, he could cut that time in half if he could find other ways to get energy, like the Infinity Stones.

He already had five Infinity Stones. If he could borrow the Time Stone from the Ancient One, his recovery should be even faster.

But it was just wishful thinking. The Time Stone was very important, and the Ancient One would probably not give it to him easily.

Well, it didn't matter. Jack considered it as a two-month vacation for himself.

No big deal.

The awakening of superpowers did not make much of a disturbance.

After witnessing Jack's abilities, Pietro and Wanda had already become somewhat used to it.

Click!

The door suddenly opened, and Jack curiously looked over to see Wanda pushing the door open.

She was wearing a cute pajama with SpongeBob SquarePants prints.

Without waiting for Jack to ask her, she ran straight to him and quickly jumped onto the bed, wriggling under the covers until she reached Jack's chest.

"Wanda..."

Jack looked at her helplessly, not knowing what to say.

"I'm just worried that something might happen to you."

Wanda blushed and buried her head, unable to look at him.

Her voice was barely loud as she said, "Your health is not good right now, and I can't help but worry."

Sigh~

Jack let out a soft sigh but didn't say anything. Instead, he hugged Wanda.

Wanda smiled, closed her eyes, and soon fell asleep.

It seemed like they needed to take care of each other.

Who knew who was taking care of whom?

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, a puzzling sensation surged through Jack. His expression changed, and he instantly understood what was happening.

He grabbed Wanda's hand and saw a white and tender wrist with a bracelet. On the bracelet was a reddish-purple bead.

Chaos magic?

Jack's eyes flickered.

If he absorbed this chaos magic, his recovery would likely be even faster.

With that thought in mind, Jack held the bead in his hand.

In the next moment, the chaotic magic inside the bead rushed into his body like water bursting through a dam.

Along with that, the whole space of the salvaging pool turned blood red, and the energy in his body seemed to turn into black holes that ate all the chaos magic that came in.

In just a moment, the previously reddish-purple bead returned to its transparent color, and Jack's vitality and face also recovered a bit.

Unfortunately, Wanda hadn't fully awakened yet, so she couldn't really control chaos magic.

Otherwise, with her as a power source, his recovery time would have been cut in half.

But for now, it was still fine.

Although he hadn't fully recovered, he had regained a level or two of strength, much stronger than an ordinary person.

In the following days, Jack didn't go anywhere. He spent his time driving between school and home, playing the role of a hardworking househusband.

But today was different. He put on his most handsome handmade suit, looking very stylish.

It was Steve and Peggy's wedding day, and as a good friend, he couldn't be too casual.

After getting ready, Jack walked downstairs. In the living room, Wanda and Pietro were already prepared, casually chatting.

When Wanda saw Jack coming down, her eyes immediately lit up.

She stood up, walked to Jack, and reached out to neaten up some small flaws in his attire.

Then she clapped her hands, satisfied with herself, and said, "Alright, Wanda, the stylist has finished styling!"

Jack looked at himself, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He hadn't worn a suit many times before, but it seemed to fit him well.

Especially Wanda, her expression while helping him with his clothes was focused, like a devoted wife neatening up her husband's appearance before going out.

"Can we go now?"

The heartwarming scene was interrupted by Pietro, who couldn't wait. He walked up to Jack eagerly and looked at him.

"Yes, we can go shortly."

Jack glanced at the time, nodded, and then grabbed the shoulders of the two and said, "Let's go!"

After speaking, the three of them disappeared from the living room.
