Chapter 15: Frontline

Jack took off

The Allies received intelligence that a German convoy transporting yellowcake had left and was taking back roads to avoid being intercepted by Allied forces in the air.

(Yellowcake is used in the preparation of uranium fuel for nuclear reactors.)

This gave Jack some time, and what he needed to do now was to hurry to the next supply point of the German convoy. According to the information, the German convoy was too discreet, and the Allies had not yet discovered their exact location, but based on the route, the convoy should pass through Belarus and Poland into Germany.

He was currently in Algeria, so reaching Poland would take more than a day or two.

He had to go to an airport to take a plane from the airport and fly directly to Poland from there!

As for why he didn't land there directly, it was mainly because he encountered German fighter interception on the way to the air force base closer to the target, so he had to divert to a different military base.

He needed to go to the air force base. So, He drove alone, following the route on the map, and arrived at the air force base four hours later.

After arriving, he boarded another transport plane that was escorted by several fighter jets and flew toward German's base.

......

A day later, in a jungle in what was then the Soviet Union, now Ukraine.

He pulled out his knife and cut his strap, free-falling a few meters before landing safely on the ground. He checked his equipment to make sure nothing was left behind. He set off northwards with his map and compass.

Unfortunately, the plane could only take him this far. He had to walk the rest of the way. But according to the intelligence report, the convoy he was tracking was resting at a military camp less than 200 kilometers away. Based on his calculations, he had three days to reach the camp, which he felt was more than enough time.

......

Three days later, in the Petrikov district of Belarus!

Since it became a German territory, Their troops are almost everywhere here, sometimes even in the jungle!

Alongside a road, there is a supply station specifically for replenishing the German convoys on missions.

Soldiers patrol around the supply station, but since it's still daytime, most of them are just going through the activities. After all, this place is originally a wilderness, where not even animals are commonly seen.

Several soldiers are casually walking through the woods, carrying rifles and chatting in German. From their tone, it doesn't seem like they're saying anything good.

Just after they passed by, the treetop on a nearby tree suddenly moved.

"Damn it! Did the intel mess up?"

Jack was getting frustrated as he looked at the supply station located not far away. According to the intelligence report, the convoy carrying the contraband would stop here to replenish supplies before continuing on their journey.

Based on the estimated time, the convoy should have already arrived at the station, but Jack had been squatting there for over two hours with no signs of anything happening yet.

Moreover, the most important thing was that he had a growing sense of worry as time passed.

"Oh, right, let's take a look!"

Knowing he couldn't waste any more time, Jack activated his eagle eye vision. If there really was a problem, his eagle-eye vision should be able to see it!

The world turned black and white in an instant, and he noticed a hint of gold in a distant barracks.

'Fuck, something is up.'

Seeing this scene, He jumped down from the tree and approached the supply station stealthily. Despite being daytime, he was a master assassin and easily infiltrated the station, eventually arriving at the barracks.

Looking through the window, he saw what seemed to be a communication room with several telegraph machines on the table. An officer was listening to the telegraph machine while taking notes. He noticed that the gold he had seen earlier was the telegram he had written himself.

After a short while, the communication officer finished writing and was about to leave. Jack, who had silently slipped in, grabbed the officer's neck from behind and snapped it.

After putting the body aside, Jack checked the telegraph. "What the fuck!!" He frowned as he read the contents. It was informing them that the convoy had changed its destination at the last minute and would not be coming here, but it did not say where they were going.

Jack felt frustrated and helpless. The most important thing now was to find the missing convoy. He was deep in enemy territory, with no backup and no intelligence.

Jack's expression changed from despair to hope as he watched the planes fly north. He remembered that there was a German terminal in that direction, which was less than 50 kilometers away. With the large number of German planes flying in that direction, he had a bold assumption.

Excitedly, Jack quickly gathered his equipment and started running toward the north. He had to move quickly if he wanted to catch up to the convoy before they reached their destination.

The Germans plan to transport the yellowcake by aircraft. He had come all this way, and now the Germans had changed their plans to use airplanes! Jack didn't understand why they made this change, but he didn't have time to think about it. He had to get to the airport before the yellowcakes were dispatched away.

As he was preparing to leave, Jack hesitated. His assumption that the airport was to the north could be wrong. This was another problem he had to consider.

Suddenly, he heard a whistle behind him. Jack instinctively stepped forward and turned around to catch whatever was coming at him. He caught something soft.
