148 Chapter 148: Hellfire Club (2)

The enchanted look on Jack's face vanished instantly, but it didn't escape Emma's notice.

A trace of disdain flickered in her eyes. Although she didn't know how he could block her telepathic abilities, his behavior had already typed Jack as a minor player in Emma's mind, and her guard lowered a bit.

However, the next words from Jack made her alert again.

"Emma Frost, the famous White Queen."

Jack raised his glass, looking up and down at her, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "I have to say, you are even more beautiful in person than I imagined."

"Thank you!"

Emma maintained her composure, but the warning in her mind was ringing.

It wasn't surprising that many people knew her identity. Most of the Hellfire Club members knew it, so that wasn't unusual.

But to be known by someone of unknown origin was the cause of the situation.

"Please have a seat."

Jack gestured with his glass, and after a moment's hesitation, Emma sat in the booth, with only a short distance of twenty centimeters separating her from Jack.

Their bodies leaned slightly towards each other, with a distance of less than ten centimeters between them. They could even feel each other's breath.

"Gulp~"

Jack looked straight ahead, swallowing the wine in his mouth, pretending as if nothing had happened.

He asked, "Miss Frost, what brings you to me?"

"Me? Looking for you?" Emma smiled, her eyebrows raised slightly. "Shouldn't it be the other way around? If I remember correctly, Mr. Curtis is a fat old man in his fifties. As to you..."

She adjusted up to Jack, her voice soft. "Can you tell me your purpose for being here?"

Jack, trying to maintain his composure, held his glass and was about to speak when he suddenly felt a strange sensation on his leg.

He lowered his head and saw a white-stockinged foot intentionally rubbing against his leg. Though the movement seemed somewhat clumsy, it still managed to break Jack's concentration, and he instantly stood up.

"Let's talk straight. Don't play these games!"

A blush flashed across Emma's face, quickly returning to normal. "So, who are you exactly? And what is your purpose for being here?"

"Well, talking about that is a bit awkward."

Jack took a deep breath to calm his restless heart. "I came to find Sebastian Shaw, but unfortunately, it seems he's not here."

"You can talk to me if you have any business," Emma replied.

"You?" Jack glanced at her, his eyes brightening, and his heart slowly grew more desirable.

"Well, that's not a problem either!"

He sat back down in the booth, and Emma instinctively leaned closer. This time, Jack didn't embarrass himself. Instead, he reached out and pulled her closer.

Caught off guard earlier, Jack felt a sense of shame and vowed to turn the tables. He couldn't afford to be embarrassed.

To put it plainly, he desired her body!

As he suddenly embraced her, Emma's body stiffened, and her body temperature seemed to drop.

"Besides looking for Shaw, I came here today mainly to find you," Jack whispered into Emma's ear, lightly smelling her delicate fragrance, which fueled his passion even more.

"Leave Sebastian Shaw and work for me!"

In his drowsy state, his hand even slowly climbed up Emma's bare back, gently caressing her smooth and beautiful skin, his breathing growing heavier.

Emma privately groaned as she tried to break free but found that Jack's grip on her was as strong as steel, and her telepathic powers were useless.

Sensing the sinful grasp of the man beneath her, along with his increasingly heavy breathing, she knew that if she didn't intervene, she might be in serious trouble.

No longer able to hide, she made a swift decision. With a single thought, her entire body, including her clothes, transformed into a stunning diamond.

"Wow," Jack exclaimed as he looked at the woman in his arms, now a radiant diamond sculpture.

A hint of amazement flashed in his eyes, and he couldn't help but admire, "So beautiful."

Emma remained expressionless as she exerted force and struggled. Jack loosened his grip and released her.

Emma stood up, returning to her normal form, feeling somewhat embarrassed as she looked at Jack.

On the other hand, Jack crossed his legs and calmly observed her, unable to conceal his satisfaction.

He had turned the tables!

The roles are reversed in the situation and Emma realizes that Jack is responding against her.

But what could she do?

As for his proposal for her to leave Sebastian Shaw, unexpectedly, Emma found herself genuinely considering it.

"Take some time to consider my proposal and work for me," Jack said calmly as he poured himself a drink, getting down to business. "I'm aware of Shaw's plan. While it may effectively increase the creating number of mutants, it's not the best plan."

"Most importantly, if a full-scale nuclear war breaks out, not only will many ordinary people die, but mutants will also be in great danger."

The more Emma listened, the more concerned she became. It wasn't because Jack criticized their plan, but rather because he actually knew about their plan!

Inside the Hellfire Club, only she, Azazel, and Riptide were aware of Sebastian's plan. Azazel and Riptide were Sebastian's trusted subordinates, and she couldn't have leaked the information.

So how did he know about the plan?

"And speaking of which, Miss Frost, do you truly believe you know Sebastian?" Jack smiled, his grin filled with mysterious meaning. "You should be aware of the limitations of your own abilities. Are you certain that what Sebastian shows to you is his true plan? Don't forget about his power. A nuclear war breaking out would be the best thing for him."

As those words came out, Emma showed no visible reaction, but her mind was racing with thoughts.

She definitely understood the limitations of her abilities. She had telepathic powers, but in reality, her telepathic abilities were not very strong.

For example, when it came to mind-reading, she could only access a person's thoughts and memories within a specific timeframe. Beyond that time limit, she couldn't read anything.

Sebastian's thoughts when he was around her were always the same: he wanted to assemble more mutants. This was also why she decided to follow Sebastian, they shared the same goal.

But if what Jack said was true, and Sebastian was only pretending in front of her, then it became interesting. If it were an ordinary person, Emma wouldn't believe they could hide their true thoughts in her presence. But Sebastian...

If it were Sebastian, she understood this man well enough to know he could do just that!

No! It was very possible!

Most importantly, if there were a nuclear war, who would benefit the most?

Without a doubt, Sebastian would benefit from it because he can absorb energy. For others, it might be a disaster, but for him, it would be like a fish returning to the big sea.

The more Emma thought about it, the more she found it possible.

However, she didn't fully believe Jack's words. She wouldn't have become the White Queen of the Hellfire Club if she were easily convinced.

But in the next moment, Jack's words changed her mindset.

"If you still doubt it, I can show you Sebastian's real plan."
