Chapter 142: Feelings

Jack was familiar with George Stacy, of course.

He was the father of Gwen Stacy, the girlfriend of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in the Amazing Spider-Man series. Sadly, he died at the end of the first movie at the hands of the Lizard, and his daughter Gwen also met a tragic end in the second movie.

The Spider-Man of the Multiverse was indeed a miserable person, having lost his parents, Uncle Ben, and even his girlfriend and almost-father-in-law in front of him.

But of course, this was the Marvel Universe, where anything could happen.

This George Stacy was indeed the same, but his daughter Gwen had just been born last month. According to the information gathered by the Red Queen, it was like Kang the Conqueror, from different universes but with the same person.

Strange things could happen in the Marvel Universe, after all.

Jack shook his head and drove the thought out of his mind. Although it was surprising, it had nothing to do with him. It was just something to take note of.

Busy in the kitchen, the table was set for dinner in no time.

Pietro had taken his medicine, and although he looked better, his injuries would probably take a few days to heal.

The dinner table was quiet, with Pietro burying his head in his food and not daring to look up. Wanda took a bite of her spoon, her gaze shifting back and forth between Pietro and Chloe.

Jack was enjoying his meal, and his cooking skills were always amazing no matter how many times he cooked.

Dinner passed quickly, and when Chloe carried the dishes to the kitchen to wash, Petero followed her in as if it were the most natural thing to do. This allowed Wanda to ask about their relationship.

She sits next to Jack, sticking close to him, and asked, "Hey, Jack, what's going on between those two?"

"Hmm?"

Jack turned his head to glance at the kitchen, shrugging.

"It's just the way it is. Petero likes Chloe. Can't you see that?"

In fact, the signs had been there for a while. Pietro had been pursuing Chloe with all the signs of a suitor, but Chloe did not possess human emotions at the time, so she had no reaction to his signs.

However, today her reaction had caught Jack's curiosity. When Pietro was injured, Chloe's panicked and concerned expression was not something a simple data simulation could achieve.

He suddenly thought of a sentence in the function of the android he had salvaged all those years ago.

[Never treat an android as a tool, they can feel emotions.]

This sentence immediately alerted him. Thinking of Chloe's original world, he seemed to understand something.

Looking at the two busy people in the kitchen, Jack secretly thought that he probably needed to find a new housekeeping robot.

The next day, Chloe sent the siblings to school as usual while Jack returned to the Sanctum Sanctorum.

"So, you did it!" exclaimed the Ancient One, blowing herself with a folding fan. It was hard to tell if she was hot from the weather or nervous about the cosmic cube in front of her.

"Yes, I did," replied Jack as he tossed the cube into the air and caught it, causing the Ancient One to look on in disbelief.

"I'm not sure what kind of adventure you went through, but I must warn you to think carefully before doing something."

Ancient One said solemnly. "Although the Space Stone may not be as destructive as the Power Stone, it's still one of the Infinity Stones, and absorbing it completely is very dangerous."

"I know, don't worry, I'm not going to overdo it," reassured Jack as he put away the cosmic cube.

"There's no need to rush right now, I can take my time, and everything is still peaceful. I can take care of myself even if the Multiverse War breaks out."

He wasn't bragging. Even though he had only unlocked a small portion of his Kryptonian physiology, it was enough for him to handle most troubles.

"I'm curious, how did Nick Fury willingly give you the Cosmic Cube?"

The Ancient One looked at him curiously and asked, "As far as I know, he's not an easy person to convince."

"Well...I used some small tricks," Jack said, embarrassed. He quickly changed the subject, "But that's not why I'm here today. I mainly want to borrow the Time Stone."

"You want to collect the energy from all six stones," The Ancient One didn't seem surprised by Jack's request and calmly said.

"As far as I know, some of them are difficult to obtain. The Reality Stone was hidden by Odin's father, Bor, in a secret place, and even I don't know where it is. The Soul Stone has no information at all. As for the Power Stone and the Mind Stone, one is in Morag and is easy to get, while the other is in the hands of Thanos, and it's not easy to get."

"Thanos? I will go find him!"

Jack gritted his teeth with hatred at the mention of Thanos. He hadn't forgotten how he was chased and almost killed by his subordinates during going home.

"Okay, then," The Ancient One said.

The Ancient One nodded and closed her folding fan with a snap. The Eye of Agamotto appeared on her chest. She pinched her fingers together, and the Eye of Agamotto slowly opened, revealing the green Time Stone.

The faint green light shone on Jack.

"I can only give you a little, you probably can't handle too much."

The Ancient One had considered everything for Jack, even though she might have been too cautious.

"Of course, thank you."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Ancient One waved her hand, and a green light projected from the Time Stone, directly entering Jack's body.

"Ugh! This feeling! It's seemingly comfortable!"

Although it was not as uncomfortable as before, Jack still felt a slight pain spreading throughout his body as if being pierced by needles.

This pain lasted for nearly half an hour before completely disappearing.

At the first opportunity, Jack went to the Multiverse Salvage Pool, and sure enough, the color of the Energies had changed again.

He could also clearly feel that he had gained a new kind of power.

The power of time.

Opening his eyes, the Ancient One had already left. After he adjusted for a while, he left the Sanctum.

It was still early, so Jack didn't go home directly but went into space. Looking at the silent universe around him, Jack silently took out the Tesseract.

The Ancient One was right, the energy of the Infinity Stones is not something that ordinary people can absorb.

But he was not an ordinary person.

He was going to absorb it now because he needed enough energy to open a portal that connected the two universes.

He was going to find Jean.
