A typical man, who is neither particularly good nor bad, dies feeling disillusioned with life because the universe has not fulfilled his expectations. However, through new experiences, the universe might reveal that it is not as disappointing as he believed. Please note that everything I write is fictional and made up, so any similarities to real situations are unintentional. I’m indifferent to sexual orientation and aim this message at those who share that perspective. Additionally, English is not my first language, and I might not express myself perfectly, so I appreciate your understanding of any errors. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy reading! (^_^)
A man was walking towards his home with harsh steps in the darkness. He had worked late that day. The summer holiday was coming to an end, the man was a university student and had finally moved on to the first year after a difficult preparatory year. Despite his relaxed attitude, there was someone who had understood the vastness of the universe behind that relaxation, and he burned like a flame with his belief in a universe where everything was possible, and nothing could surprise him as much.
"Finally, the day is over," said the man, tiredly.
The man worked at a market, and the working hours were not that good, but he had to endure it because he had to earn money to support himself and pay off his debts.
Although he had returned to his hometown for the summer, he was not at ease here. He was staying with his family, but they did not care much about him. At least they provided him with a place to stay, but to them, he was just a stranger who happened to be staying in the same place.
He thought the reason for this was life and societal views because during his high school years, his family had discovered his orientation despite his efforts to keep it hidden.
That was when his whole life turned upside down. He had grown up with his family, grandparents, uncles and cousins, and their sudden change had left him vulnerable. Being treated in such a manner by those he trusted the most had shattered him.
So, he immersed himself in novels, fanfiction, and all sorts of fantasies because it was the only way he could escape. The incident had made him less interested in life, but it had also led him to develop an increasing curiosity and interest in other things, which was why he was the person he was today.
"Ah...will I really have to live like this in such a vast universe?" he thought, feeling disappointed.
"Maybe it would be more interesting to die in a car accident and go to the afterlife. Or maybe something similar to the fan fiction I read would happen. Hahaha...but what nonsense. What am I waiting for? Would this universe care about me? At the end of the day, I'm just an ordinary person. Not a different from an orphan, although, they deserve more than me since at least my childhood was filled with love. Oh, where was I? Right, have I contributed anything to this universe? I don't think so."
He was overwhelmed by his emotional changes, and he couldn't help but think of everything.
When he arrived home, no one even looked at him. He had not eaten, so he headed for the kitchen. When he opened his fridge, there was no food left, it had all been eaten. He saw empty, dirty plates on the table, it had only been fifteen minutes since they had last eaten.
He was tired, and the dishes were waiting for him as if they were waiting for him to wash them.
"Tomorrow, I must wake up early to go to work, so I need to sleep as soon as possible," he thought.
After finishing washing the dishes, he took a shower to clear his mind. Everyone else in the house had already gone to sleep when he finished. He knew that he had to sleep soon, but he was hungry, so he attempted to fall asleep while his stomach growled.
"Ah...I'm exhausted," he thought and finally fell asleep.
