(Three months later.)

Chapter twenty:

Living in Wakanda gave me peace. A peace I have ever known before. It was like I'd been completely altered by my recovery. The teachings of Wakanda were pure and noble. I learned to control, not just the negative speed force but my mind as well. Before the teachings I was erratic, impulsive and lacked self awareness. It had been three months now. Princess Shuri assured me that her work was done. My mind has been descrambled. I started to remember those triggering words. I placed in the bucket a safe place for me and for others so they could use them causing me to shift into this awful being. When I was changed they'd used images of Wanda and my family to retrain my brain. Anytime those words were used I would think of them in the way they cared for me that I must not hurt them or any other person. I must remove myself from this situation.

I had not spoken to Wanda since our tearful goodbye three months ago. I'm unsure whether if she's still waiting for or not. If she's not that's something that I will have to learn to accept. She needs a safe person in her life. Someone who can protect her and love her without worry of powers hurting her. The people of Wakanda has taught me a lot but I still fear my actions. Princess Shuri assured me that it was normal. That I was recovering well. I would be in control of myself. But I was terrified of losing her again. Wanda meant everything to me. Do I go back to my family? Do I go back to HQ? I had no idea what I was going to go back to. Will Wanda still love me? Would the Avengers still be my friend's?

Princess Shuri as given me so much so as a thank you to the people of Wakanda I had helped with building whatever they needed. Try tried to avoid any combat while I was worried I would find it too triggering. Today they were going to show me footage of when I was taken to see if I was finally ready to go home. This was going to be my biggest test. This one to see if I was enough to go back to Wanda, to everyone. Whether if I was worthy enough to be a new Avenger member.

"Are you ready Travis? If not we can wait." Said Princess Shuri. I was back in the vibranium bunker to ensure my safety and theirs.

"I'm ready." I replied. I then see in front of me a footage of the warehouse and them trying to take Wanda.

"Travis how does this make you feel? Are you okay to continue?" Said Princess Shuri.

"I really do miss Wanda. I was scared for her safety but I guess I saved her. I can continue." I replied.

Princess Shuri then nodded pressing the play button. I then see my super speed taking out the final few guys checking on Wanda before the truck pulled. They were pulling Wanda into the truck. I then pulled her out of the truck and she hit her head so couldn't rescue me. I was alone. I was trapped. I recalled how I tried to wriggle free but I was outnumbered and they had electricuted me into submission while I was in the truck before placing handcuffs on me. They took my.ear piece and stomped on it. I knew I had a track in my suit but they had something in the truck that was interfering with it.

"Travis are you okay? How does it make you feel?" Said Princess Shuri.

"I didn't realize why she couldn't have helped me. She hit her head while I rescued her. It makes me think that I hurt her but I was trying to save her." I replied.

They then turned off the footage.

"You have made great progress here. When you first arrived you wasn't yourself as the memories of the things that you had done when you were not in control. Now you recall them and know how must proceed. You have taken our teachings overboard. We have descrambled your mind. You are at peace. I think that you are ready to go home." Said Princess Shuri.

"Thank you for everything. You have given me hope when I thought all was lost. I owe you my life. Whenever you need anything please let me know." I replied.

General Okoye was waiting in my room. He had been a mentor of mine whenever he could be. "I heard that you are leaving. It has been a honor to teach you." Said General Okoye.

"Thank you Okoye. You have taught me more than I could have ever wished." I replied.

Okoye and Shuri then took me where the jet was. Bucky then greeted me. Before he can say anything I gave him a hug I was eternally grateful for the help that he had gotten for me. He then looked at me in the eyes checking for any signs of the darkness he knew only too well.

"They really do work miracles here don't they." Said Bucky. We both then entered the jet and I sat next to room as he flies the jet back to HQ.

"How is Wanda?" I said.

"She hasn't left the cabin since it happened. When we are on missions Rhodey would join us and Carol Danvers has been back a lot she has been watching over Wanda. Sometimes she left food outside for Wanda and left immediately. Carol Danvers said that she has the jar that you gave her with the notes all over the table." Replied Bucky.

"Your buddy Jordan came over a few times. He was the only person she would let stay inside with her. Nothing she told him he shared with us. From the look of it they would just sit and talk about you and cry. Wanda really needs you Travis." Said Bucky.

That was really hard to hear I never wanted to upset either of them but I'm coming home and I'm not going away again.

I must have fallen asleep before I knew it we were back at HQ. As I left the jet Monica, Peter and Sam was waiting for me. They all then gave me a group hug.

"It's good to see you again Travis." Said Sam Wilson.

"It's good to see you Peter. I hope you've been looking after MJ. Nice bum fluff bro." I replied. Instead of responding he just hugged me.

I then looked at Monica and you could see her in tears. "I heard that Carol has been here a lot. What's her hair like?" I said but Monica didn't respond as she just hugged me.

They all walked me back to the cabin. "Are you ready to face Wanda, Travis?" Said Bucky.

"As I'll ever be." I replied and took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
