(Playing American football.)

Chapter twenty eight:

It had been over a month since Bucky left for Wakanda. It was sad but necessary. Rhodey came to help us on missions whenever we needed him to. Carol Danvers and Jordan had been around a lot. We were actually going out with them today. They were such a fun couple to be around. Carol Danvers looked online for fun things to do so we decided to try American football. Carol Danvers and I were both competitive against one so I'd been going to the driving range a lot to make sure that I could beat her. Wanda would always ride along with me. But in reality she spent most of her time checking me out. I could tell because I could feel her staring at me. Wanda would always hit the odd ball but not much more after that.

It was nice to be going out and I could wear what I normally do around the cabin. I wore my Seahawks jersey and some blue jeans. Wanda wore a Seahawks cheerleader outfit as we were both on the same team. It was Carol Danvers and Jordan against Wanda and I. I was just hoping that if we did lose to Carol Danvers wouldn't be too unbearable.

"What are the rules again?" Said Wanda as we walked to the football field of HQ.

"There are ten yards you have to get for a first down. The more touchdowns you score the more points you get." I replied.

"Ok I guess that makes sense." Said Wanda. I kissed her gently with my arms around her waist.

"You just agreed to play football to check me out again didn't you?" I said and Wanda just laughed at me.

"As if you don't check me out while we're on missions or whenever I was wearing that black bikini in the hot tub. Or whenever I was wearing lingerie." Replied Wanda.

She did have a point. We got to the foyer and Carol Danvers and Jordan are already in the taxi. "Are you ready to lose Travis?" Said Carol Danvers.

"Don't bet on it Carol." I replied.

"Remind me why we agreed to this again?" Said Jordan.

"I don't know but they're going to be unbearable." Replied Wanda.

Carol Danvers and I just looked at them offended but we both knew that they were right.

When we arrived it was quite busy. Our field was going to take about an hour to get ready. We then decided to get some food while waiting. All of us ordered burgers with chili fries and onion rings. We ordered some sodas too.

"So are you guys official yet?" I asked Carol Danvers. She and just looked at me and nodded.

"Yeah." Replied Carol Danvers.

"How romantic." I said making all of them laugh. The food came quickly and we just laughed at how casual Carol and Jordan were about being a couple. When our field was ready you could feel the shift in tension. Carol Danvers and I started to psych ourselves. We looked ridiculous. Jordan and Wanda just looked at us as if we needed help.

When we got to the locker room the taunting began between Carol Danvers and I. "I would say ladies first but." I started to trash talk Carol Danvers.

"It's ok we'll go first you might learn a thing or two." Replied Carol Danvers.

"Waiter can we get some more sodas please?" Said Jordan.

"We're going to need them." Replied Wanda. As soon as the soda's arrived Jordan and Wanda started drinking them saving Carol and I as we were so competitive.

Carol Danvers and I got the same amount of touchdowns throughout the entire game. It was up to Wanda and I to determine who would win. Carol Danvers was mounting the pressure on Jordan it was really funny.

"Come on we cannot lose to them. Please Jordan." Said Carol Danvers.

"You know your not helping right?" Replied Jordan. Carol Danvers just rolled her eyes at him.

"It doesn't matter who wins or losses. Cause I already know that I won, because I have you in my life. Carol doesn't get to wake up every morning and see your beautiful face like I do." I said.

"I love you more than anything else as well Travis." Replied Wanda.

Wanda then threw a hail mary into the end zone giving herself and I 6 points. Jordan and Carol Danvers knew that they couldn't beat that so they decided to let us win. Jordan and Carol Danvers cheered for us while Wanda and I facepalmed each other.

"Good job babe." I said before spinning Wanda around in a hug.

"I told you that we would win." Replied Wanda before sticking her tongue out at Carol Danvers. I just smirked before kissing her lovingly.

When we walked back to the taxi Wanda and I were holding hands. Whenever I heard someone say. "That's just wrong." While we were holding hands. I then let go of Wanda's hand and walked into the direction with Carol Danvers next to me.

"What did you just say?" Replied Carol Danvers.

Wanda could see that I was angry so she took my hand in her's to try and calm me down. "Nothing." Said the guy.

"It sounded like you just said that's wrong. So it's wrong to love someone?" I replied.

Jordan was one step ahead of us as he called the manager.

"Excuse me sir but I'm afraid that I'm going to have to ask you to exit the building." Said the manager.

"This is ridiculous." Replied the drunk guy as he grabbed his coat.

When we got back to the taxi the drunk guy was waiting for us. "Stupid Avengers." He said to us. We just ignored him but he wasn't having it. The man grabbed me by the shoulder. He then tried to swing at me but that was a mistake. Wanda grabbed his hand and pinned it behind him. She was actually very lenient.

Carol Danvers wasn't going to let him get away with it. He started coming at Wanda so Wanda head butted him and left him on the floor.

When we got back to the taxi. Wanda was calmer but she was upset. We had a great day together but it was tainted by the moron. I kissed Wanda on the lips as she started to cry.

"It's going to be ok my love." I said.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to cry. It's just we finally got a normal day to ourselves and it's ruined by some drunk guy." Replied Wanda.

"I don't know why he did that but I'm so proud of you not going all Scarlet Witch on that guy." I said.

Wanda just smiled at me with tears in her eyes. I tried to wipe them away and kissed her long and passionately on the lips. Getting to know Wanda she was a big softie at the heart.

Wanda cried at a sad kid's movie or whenever her favorite character died. It was one of the reasons why I loved her. When Wanda smiled up at me I knew that I wanted to protect her for the rest of my life.
