Chapter fifty two:

Wanda Maximoff stood motionless as she felt the weight of their gazes on her. The room was filled with a heavy silence that only deepened the sense of sadness. Without a word, Wanda Maximoff turned and walked out of the door. Her steps echoed throughout the hallway as she made her way out of the building, her heart was heavy with emotion. She emerged outside, and the cool air hit her face as she sank down onto the steps. There, alone with her thoughts, Wanda Maximoff curled up into a ball and wept softly.

Her tears was a reflection of the pain she carried inside her, a pain that had been festering for far too long. Wanda Maximoff was lost and broken, searching for a way to find hope in the midst of despair.

I knew that she needed someone to guide her, someone to be a beacon of light in the darkness. It wouldn't be easy, but I was determined to give Wanda the hope she so desperately needed, especially in times like this.

"I'll go and get Wanda." I said.

"I'm coming with you." Replied Doctor Strange.

"No. Let me speak to her alone." I said.

"I think that I can help." Replied Doctor Strange.

"Let... Me... Speak to her... Alone." I said.

"What is she to you exactly?" Replied Wong.

"She's my wife." I said.

These unexpected words took some by surprise. They looked at me in confusion as I walked out of the room. I then opened the door and saw Wanda sitting in front of the door curled up in a ball on the steps.

"Wanda... Babe." I replied.

"Go away Travis." Said Wanda Maximoff.

"Wanda I love you..." I replied.

"I said go away Travis." Said Wanda Maximoff.

I also knew the real reason why Wanda broke down moments ago.

"I'm sorry about what happened with Vision on Wakanda. About everything that happened in your life... I wish I could've been there for you a lot sooner than now... I said.

Wanda Maximoff slowly lifted her head and looked at me. She appreciated what I was trying to do but she didn't want me there right now.

"Look you will always be my one true love Travis Maximoff. But everyone I ever cared about as died. And I can't afford to use you as well." Replied Wanda Maximoff.

I understood why Wanda was lashing out at me, but it didn't mean I wasn't slightly hurt by her words, but I knew that Wanda needed her space.

"Okay... Take your time... I'll be inside if you need anything." I said.

I then left a kiss on Wanda's lips before turning around and walked back into the building. I was surprised by the sight of everyone standing together as if they were ready for battle. The Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Fantastic Four along with the rest, stood in front of me with determination. Doctor Strange and Clea was amongst them. Everyone then looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement.

"We will stand with Wanda... You have our word... No harm will come to her. Wanda Maximoff will not die today. We will protect her at all costs. Whatever it takes." Said Carol Danvers.

"Whatever it takes." Replied Peter Parker.

"Whatever it takes." Said Hawkeye.

"We... are... Groot." Replied Groot.

"Whatever it takes." Said Sam Wilson.
