(Buying the engagement ring.)

Chapter twenty nine:

It had been two months since we played American football together. Wanda and I still did night outs with Carol and Rhodey. Carol Danvers was actually very popular whenever we went to night clubs. She would always give us free pass ports to the must famous night clubs. And if the drunk people didn't back off Carol Danvers would threaten them which made them leave swiftly. She and I had become very close friends recently and she's been helping me plan something very special for Wanda.

I was on my way to my parents house which Wanda had no idea about. We have been together for ten months now. In our job you can take nothing for granted. I knew Wanda was the one for me so I wanted to talk to my parents about marrying her. It's completely old fashioned but their opinion means a lot to me and it just felt right to get their approval. I had the ring ready to show them, and it was perfect. Carol Danvers helped me pick it out. I hadn't told Jordan or my parents why I was coming just that I wanted to speak with them. As I pulled up to the house I started to panic. What if they didn't think that Wanda was good enough for me? What if they said no? I heard a knock on the window and it was Jordan.

"You scared the hell out of me." I said before getting out of the car.

"Come on let's get inside. I want to listen why your here." Replied Jordan.

As we got inside our parents tackled me in a hug. I handed them a bottle of wine and some flowers for the house. They sit down on the couch and I stood in front of them nervous.

I then took a deep breath before speaking. "You're probably wondering why I'm here and why Wanda isn't. I got some of our friends from work to distract her. The reason I came here today is to... ask your permission to marry Wanda. Now I know it's soon but she's the one for me. I love Wanda more than anything in the world. And all I want to do is make her happy for the rest of our lives. I promise you that I will never hurt her or let anyone else hurt her. I love Wanda more than she'll ever know more than I can put into words. So dad, mom and Jordan will please give me your blessings to marry Wanda so I can show her how much I love her everyday for the rest of our lives and beyond?" I said.

They all just looked at each other. Dad then stood up and put his hand on my shoulder.

"We would be more than happy if Wanda became apart of the family. We know that you love her and will take care of her for the rest of your lives." Replied my dad. We all then hugged each other. I then showed them the ring and they all started to cry.

"How are you planning on proposing?" Said Jordan.

"I have an idea. I want to hire Mia and Giuseppe. So that it is only us there having dinner or so she thinks. We'll be having a regular Thanksgiving meal for dinner. Then I'll get them to sing the song that Wanda sang for me. Whenever Wanda hears the music I'll propose to her. You guys will be waiting in the back getting ready to surprise her if she says yes. Does that sound ok?" I replied.

"Wanda will love it. She really will." Said my mother.

We then went out for lunch at Mia and her husband Giuseppe's restaurant so I made sure to ask them about the engagement. I was nervous as Wanda meant a lot to Mia and her husband Giuseppe.

"How are you Travis. No Wanda today." Said Mia.

"Actually that is what I wanted to talk to you about. You and Giuseppe mean a lot to Wanda so does your restaurant so I was wondering if you would allow me to use your restaurant to propose to her on Thanksgiving day. You see I have this plan to hire out your whole restaurant if you will let me." I replied.

"That's sounds beautiful and we would be honored." Said Mia and her husband Giuseppe.

We then had the most delicious meal before I went back to HQ pleased with how today went. As I got into the kitchen I'm tackled by a hug and it was Wanda.

"I've missed you." Said Wanda while holding me tight.

"I've only been gone for eight hours." I replied before kissing her lovingly.

"We're glad you're back. Wanda has been sulking since you left. Honestly I think I would rather babysit Peter." Said Carol Danvers.

"Don't worry I won't be going anywhere without Wanda again." I replied. "Can you do me a favor and grab your hoodie from the cabin you know the red one and can you grab me some trackies as well?" I asked Wanda.

Wanda then kissed me before going to get the clothes.

"So how did it go?" Said Carol Danvers.

"They said yes. And everything is set up and ready to go. Your coming to celebrate right?" I replied.

"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world." Said Carol Danvers.

In the next two weeks I was going to be engaged to the woman of my dreams. And I couldn't wait.
