Chapter 42: The Kree Deception

After years of exploration, Thor had discovered several ways to punish the malevolent system.

For instance, restarting the system for the young lady is akin to flushing consciousness down a toilet, spinning it rapidly, and then slowly piecing it back together.

Another method is temporarily shutting down the system. For Thor, this means simply being unable to use the system temporarily, but for the young lady, it feels like her senses are being shut off. It's an extremely uncomfortable experience...

Digital existence is truly harsh.

Carol Danvers emerged from the video store with a perplexed expression and began inquiring about the situation. Thor glanced back at Maya Hansen.

"Ms. Hansen, I have a suggestion regarding your research that you might want to consider."

"What suggestion?" Maya Hansen asked.

"Your research could actually be split into two paths. One involves improving the stability of Extremis to ensure safety and achieve limb regeneration."

"And the other?" Maya Hansen, intrigued, sensed that Thor was about to offer a valuable insight.

"Make the explosion time controllable, and then—increase the power and intensity of the explosion!"

Maya Hansen's face went pale, her eyes wide with fear. "You... you..."

She immediately associated the suggestion with certain tactics used by some countries and organizations.

Commonly known as—self-detonation!

Maya Hansen felt like she was getting involved with something dangerous...

Thor didn't spend the entire night discussing with Maya Hansen. With a probable fight on the horizon, he needed to rest well.

Maya Hansen was so alarmed by the conversation that she feared she had joined some sinister organization. Thor repeatedly assured her that no human experiments would be conducted, which calmed her enough to stay.

Thor had no such intentions. Using humans as bombs like Killian was far too crude. Asgard's Dungeon held many heinous individuals far more formidable than humans.

If it weren't for Odin's restraint over the years, these criminals would have been executed multiple times for their crimes, and repurposing them would be a waste.

Not cooperating? Find out about the Mind Gem!

In a few years, Thanos would send his underling to Earth with equipment.

"Drip! The system has restarted!"

The pale young lady began to complain bitterly to Thor.

Thor remained impassive.

He was god—he had no feelings!

"System, tell me, who would win in a fight between me and Captain Marvel?"

Thor was quite interested in the title of "The Strongest Avenger."

After all, if it weren't for this woman, he would be the strongest in the world.

The evil screenwriter had not given him a heroic moment to shine, even ruining his appearance...

"You would win."

That was a comforting response.

"So certain? Why?"

"Because you are asking me."

The System was as forthright as ever.

Thor: "..."

"Vers, stay on standby and wait for us. Keep the communicator open and wait for us to contact you!"

"But..."

The telephone line was cut off. Earth's communication methods were still quite primitive, and several attempts to reconnect failed.

After spending the night trying to fix the phone booth, it was destroyed after only a minute of use...

Carol was feeling down.

For a strong person like her, being captured by the Kree's old adversary, the Skrulls, was a significant blow.

They had managed to escape, but due to a spaceship malfunction, they ended up on Earth, a planet considered very primitive by the Kree.

She had quickly contacted Yon Rogg and the rest of the Star Troopers to explain her situation.

Even though Yon Rogg instructed her to cease all actions and wait for them to meet due to concerns for her safety, there was an undertone of distrust in his words.

In other words, she had long felt a subtle alienation from the Star Troopers, a feeling that became even more apparent in retrospect...

And in her hazy memory, who was Dr. Lawson?

Why did Yon Rogg become cautious when she was mentioned?

She frowned and muttered to herself, "What's going on? Why is this happening?"

"Because it's a Kree deception, and they've been lying to you all along!"

An unexpected voice interrupted.
