Chapter 05 - Visit

When Luke recovered, he used his mutant ability to move the plastic bench in front of him.

The bench began to shake and rose by half a centimeter, when suddenly the bench fell back to the ground. Luke was tired, but he felt like he could try again.

He used the ability again, the same thing happened as before, the bench rose by half a centimeter and fell back to the ground. But now, it lingered in the air for a few seconds longer than before.

This time, Luke felt exhausted, he held on to the wall and closed his eyes. Feeling the energy of his second mutant ability acting on his mind.

Then, suddenly, he felt a strange sensation, as if he had seen numbers in his mind.

⟪Mind: 1.4 → 1.5⟫

"Does the ability come with a panel?" Luke thought.

But he quickly dismissed it, he knows what happened, this was an evolution in his mind, with the 1.5 point, he can understand the parameters of his evolution.

Just now, when he advanced from the previous 1.4 points to the current 1.5 points, it means that he can now better understand his evolution.

But it seems that he cannot visualize the progress of his attributes, only when he completes a significant evolution.

At his current stage, 0.1 point is already quite significant.

After a few minutes of resting, Luke managed to use his ability again. This time, the plastic bench rose almost a centimeter, but what was truly impressive was how long he managed to hold it.

He lasted a whole minute before the bench fell to the ground.

"One more time!" Luke muttered.

Using it again, Luke felt his mind working 100%, when he finally lifted the bench an inch above the ground.

It may seem like very little, but for comparison, his predecessor couldn't even lift the bench off the ground, he only made it shake. In just a few dozen minutes of training and thanks to the 'Infinite Evolution' skill, Luke can now lift the bench 1 centimeter above the ground and hold it for 1 minute.

Feeling his mind in exhausting pain, Luke let go of the bench and fell onto the bed, his forehead sweaty and his eyes closed trying to ease the pain in his head.

⟪Mind: 1.5 → 1.6⟫

Luke smiled as he felt his mind getting stronger, even if it was only 0.1.

While he was still resting, a knock came on his door and a gentle voice came from outside his apartment.

"Luke, are you home?" Aunt May's gentle voice sounded like a beautiful melody to Luke's ears.

"Aunt May?" Luke asked, getting up from the bed, holding on to the walls.

He walked slowly and opened the door.

Aunt May was standing, holding a small box in her hands, she looked at Luke sweaty and with exhausted eyes.

"What happened to you? Are you okay?" May Parker stepped forward and placed the box on a small counter near the door.

She held Luke's waist, who was surprised to be carried to bed by Aunt May, she took a clean towel and wiped the sweat that was on Luke's forehead.

"I was just training a little, you don't have to worry." Luke replied.

May smiled and felt relieved, she continued to wipe her neighbor's forehead.

"Thank you." Luke thanked her when he saw her stop.

"No need to thank me, dear, no need to be so polite to me!" May had a gentle smile, she folded the towel and placed it on the counter where the small box she brought was. "I'll take the towel home and give it to you clean tomorrow morning. Do you have any dirty clothes? I'll take advantage of the fact that I'm here and take them to wash too."

May didn't give Luke any space, she found the dirty clothes that Luke had accumulated to wash later in the laundry room, she took a bag and put the dirty clothes in it.

"You don't have to do that, Aunt May." Luke tried to stop her, but his exhausted mind made his body heavy.

"Just rest, I have a washing machine at home, so you don't have to worry." May smiled and placed the bag near the door.

She took the small box she brought and handed it to Luke. Luke opened the box and there was a tie inside. He looked at Aunt May and asked, "A tie?" "I heard from Peter that you've been looking for a job, so I bought this tie to make you look more formal in interviews." May replied with a gentle smile.

May is wearing a yellow blouse and jeans, she sat on the plastic bench that Luke uses to practice his gravity control ability.

"No need, Aunt May. It's Peter's birthday and I didn't even buy him a present, I can't accept it." Luke felt a little guilty about receiving the present from Aunt May, even though it wasn't his fault, but it's a fact that he didn't bring a present to Peter at his birthday party.

"This isn't a present from Peter, it's a present from me to you. So, make sure to remember my birthday, April 7th, mark it on your calendar!" May laughed and stood up. "Okay, I just came to see how you are and give you the present, I'll be going now!"

"Thank you, Aunt May!" Luke thanked her and could only smile.

"I told you, you don't have to be so polite to me, just treat me like your friend and neighbor!" May said leaving Luke's apartment with a bag of dirty clothes.

Luke shook his head and stared at the tie given to him by Aunt May for a while.

"So kind and caring, and beautiful... what a woman~"

Luke continued to mutter until he recovered from his exhaustion in his mind.

It was night and he couldn't go out to run and practice speed. At home, he didn't have any weights or objects with adequate weight to practice his strength. So the only option he could think of at the moment for his practice was his mutant ability to control gravity.

He looked at the plastic bench that served as a seat for Aunt May. The bench began to move and then rose 1 centimeter above the ground with ease.

Luke felt that his ability had improved a lot since the previous moment of exhaustion. He exerted force in his mind and the gravity in the white began to decrease a little more. Then the bench rose to almost 2 centimeters and when it reached exactly 2 centimeters above the ground, he felt a substantial improvement in his mind.

⟪Mind: 1.6 → 1.7⟫

Exerting the rest of his strength, the bench rose to 5 centimeters above the floor, managing to maintain it for more than 3 minutes, before completely losing its energy.

He fell onto the bed and the bench's gravity returned to normal.
