V3 Chapter 7 - How did it come to this?

Right now I am standing in front of a 20 ft. tall White Tiger with an army knife in my hand and an injured person behind me, thinking of a way out of this absolute death situation.

'I don't think the knife is any use, but it's better than my fists.'

And I found none!!.

'My chances of winning are zero, nil, nada!'

'No way I can beat this guy, even escaping alone will be difficult and I have someone to protect. I did promise him after all. Sigh~ How did it come to this?'

How did this happen, you ask?

To explain the situation we will have to start from 3 days ago.

------3 days ago---

Just as I was lamenting about the troublesome things that would happen in the future, an unexpected response to my muttering put me on high alert.

As I looked at the bald woman wearing yellow robes I asked

"Who are you?"(Ryan)

"I Mister Ryan am Yao, you can call me the Ancient One." she said

"And I am female." and continued

"But I didn't even ask."(Ryan)

She answered before I could even ask. Mind reading?

"You were about to, and no, I can't read minds." and continued while interrupting me

"But I can look into the possible future." again

"Sigh so-"(Ryan)

"I am a sorcerer, more precisely I am Sorcerer Supreme" and again

"But-"(Ryan)

"No Stephen Strange is not yet the Sorcerer Supreme, the current him doesn't even believe in magic." and again, and I gave up.

'This is vexing, can't she let me at least finish a sentence.'

I made an action of zipping my mouth and gestured for her to go on.

She slightly smiled and spoke

"I have waited 25 years for this meeting."

'Why!? I wasn't even born then!'

"Because you, my little friend, are the one responsible for messing with time and your actions almost led to the collapse of the current society, which would have resulted in the end of the planet in the future."

"Yet, it is strange that there are no correcting forces acting upon you."

"You are the actual owner of the body you are in, no signs of possession, mind-control or any other-dimensional energies."

"Congratulations, you have time-travelled with minimal side effects."

"It also looks like your time travel is an established fact."

"What does that mean? And How did I almost destroy the world? How come there's no news about it?"(Ryan)

'Thank god! She let me finish my words.'

"That will be a lengthy story, but you don't have time for that right now."

"Why?"(Ryan)

'I don't even need to voice my question, how great it would be if my employees could do that.'

"Because If I am correct you have a promise to keep and among the possible outcomes I see, if you do not depart as quickly as possible you will fail."

"You have 2 hours before you are set for failure."

'Fail what!?'

"And if any of your employees have some talent in sorcery, I might be willing to teach them that."

'Damn! That was certainly mind-reading.'

After she said her part, she got up and a glowing portal opened showing a room, she walked in and the portal closed behind her.

Thinking about her words I regained my composure and quickly dived into my memories and realized what that warning was probably about.

I was reminded of the promise I made to Danny, to save his family if I did time travel successfully.

And if I lack time, it means their flight has probably departed.

Not deciding to test the words of someone who could figure out my time travel, and predict my meeting with her 25 years ago, before I was even born.

And figured out what I was going to say by apparently looking into the future in real time while talking to me I started my preparations for the rescue mission.

I booked the closest flight that would take me to Tibet and I had an hour to reach the airport, Made a call to the company office to prepare a visa.

Quickly picked up a bag put some cash my passport and my cards in it and my laptop.

Since I was going to be in the mountains, I also took a few injections of the healing serum made by my parents and their experimental nutrition solutions.

I left a note for my family climbed down the window and got a cab to the airport.

By the time I reached the airport, I had received an email containing my visa.

I got out of the cab checked in at the airport and quickly boarded my flight.

Though there was a minor argument in the flight with an air hostess who tried to look for my guardians but I fooled her and got over it quickly.

After a transit, I reached Tibet and booked a cab to the nearest rescue station.

After an hour-long drive with a few stops in the middle to buy clothes for myself and a face mask, I reached the rescue centre.

I was thinking of a plan in my mind on how to convince them to send a rescue team to rescue Danny and his family when an announcement quickly poured cold water all over my plans sending them down the drain.

It was something like-

"Due to the high probability of a snowstorm during the next two days, all people are advised to stay away from the mountains.

I Repeat-" and the announcement kept repeating.

I quickly asked a uniformed man standing nearby

"When was this announcement issued?"(Ryan)

"A little over a day ago he replied."

"So will they be sending any rescue teams for people trapped in the mountains?"(Ryan)

"Boy, all the people that went to the mountains for climbing and other stuff have been brought back by the teams an hour ago and are registering inside."

"All the people that registered have been accounted for there's no one on the mountains."

'Shit, there's no way they are going to listen to me now.'

I went to our restaurant nearby and ordered myself something to eat as I thought of a plan.

'I can't just stay here and do nothing.'

And I finally came to the conclusion that if I cannot convince the rescue centre to send someone I will have to go there myself.

So I finished my meal, pulled up my face mask and entered the rescue centre.

I learned one thing during the time I spent walking around the rescue centre was- no one questions the presence of a child.

They just assume things and make up stories on their own which was great for me as I didn't have to come up with ways to outsmart them.
