King In Black: part 3 (chapter 101)

prevously in chapter 100

Salva continued his relentless march through the city streets, the Eternal Flame spear gripped firmly in his hand. Each step he took was measured, each strike precise. As he arrived in East Harlem, New York, he saw a group of civilians cornered by a symbiote dragon, its jaws open wide, ready to devour them. Without hesitation, Salva made a thrusting motion with his spear. The air pressure generated was so intense and fast that it exploded the dragon's head, sending shards of its black, rubbery flesh flying in all directions. Before the symbiote within could spill out and infect the civilians, Salva moved quickly, his mouth opening to an inhuman size as he consumed the remnants of the dragon, absorbing its essence.

Chapter 101

The civilians, now safe, stared at him in awe and confusion. Salva paid them no mind, his focus shifting to the larger group of people approaching from the distance. As they got closer, he recognized the heroes among them—Captain Marvel, Danny Rand the Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Hawkeye—working together to evacuate more civilians.

Hawkeye, always quick with a question, turned to the other heroes and then to Salva. "Linda, what are they doing?" he called out, his voice tinged with frustration and urgency.

Luke Cage, his imposing figure unmistakable, responded first. "We live here. Why are you here, dude?" His tone was a mix of annoyance and genuine curiosity.

Hawkeye, still puzzled, said, "Linda, it would have been nice to let me know if you were going to call others for help."

Linda Carter, better known as Night Nurse, was busy tending to a wounded civilian but managed to respond. "My clinic is covered in symbiote sludge. Now is not the time to be picky about working with exes."

Spider-Woman, her attention divided between the chaos around them and the conversation, added, "Why is Clint here? Never mind, help me with that thing!" She pointed to another symbiote dragon making a dramatic entrance, its wings spreading wide as it descended.

The heroes braced themselves for battle, but before they could engage, the dragon's head suddenly split open. Salva appeared, his spear piercing through the creature's skull before he consumed it, leaving the heroes wide-eyed and taken aback.

"Did he just eat that thing?" Luke Cage asked, his voice a mix of disbelief and disgust.

Spider-Woman gagged, trying to hide her reaction. The sight of Salva consuming the dragon was both surreal and unsettling.

Salva, however, paid them no mind. His focus was unwavering, his mission clear. Each symbiote dragon he devoured brought him closer to the strength he needed to confront the larger threat looming over the world.

-scene change-

Salva trekked through the symbiote sludge that covered the ground, each step causing the black ooze to sizzle and evaporate. Above him, swarms of symbiote dragons circled menacingly, their red eyes glaring down at him. "There they are," he thought to himself, sighing as he gripped the Eternal Flame spear. The weapon immediately burst into bright orange flames, illuminating the dark, oppressive sky.

With a swift thrusting motion, Salva muttered, "Thrust." The spear launched forward with immense force, creating a massive pressure wave that carried scorching flames. The attack burned through most of the dragons, their screeches echoing through the air as they disintegrated into ash. Salva continued walking on a large bridge, his steps steady and purposeful.

Suddenly, he felt a familiar heat, different from his own flames. Looking ahead, he saw a figure on a hellish motorcycle, flames trailing behind it. "The Ghost Rider," he mused. This Ghost Rider was different from the ones in Oliver's memories. He had a bone crown etched into his flaming skull, and his chain clanked ominously as he rode.

The Ghost Rider was dragging someone—a figure with red hair and a devilish appearance. "Mephisto," Salva recognized the devilish figure, who was tied up and taunting the Rider.

"A swarm of oily dragons heading towards New York City. That's several million people. Who knows, they might be friendly dragons. But this is beneath you, right, the king of Hell?" Mephisto sneered.

The Ghost Rider picked up Mephisto by the collar, his fiery eyes burning with anger. "I said shut up," he growled, before getting back on his motorcycle and riding towards the swarm of dragons. Meanwhile Salva, had taken to the air, the Eternal Flame spear glowing brightly in his hand.

High above the ground, Salva flew with grace and power, the Eternal Flame spear guiding his path. The swarm of symbiote dragons converged on him, their numbers overwhelming. Salva twirled his spear, creating a vortex of flames that incinerated the first wave of attackers. The dragons' living abyss tried to latch onto him, but they sizzled and vaporized upon contact with his fiery aura.

One dragon, larger than the others, lunged at Salva with its jaws wide open. With a swift motion, Salva spun his spear and struck the dragon's head, shattering it into pieces. The dragon's body disintegrated, and Salva absorbed its essence, growing stronger with each kill.

More dragons surrounded him, their tendrils and claws slashing through the air. Salva moved with precision, dodging their attacks while countering with powerful thrusts of his spear. Each strike was accompanied by a burst of flames, incinerating the dragons instantly. His control over his strength was absolute; he could have destroyed the entire city with ease, but he chose to focus his power on the dragons alone, minimizing collateral damage.
