Chapter XXXV: Here Comes The Men In Black

"Are you fucking kidding me? You already got a medal? Damn it! I need to step up." Stu threw me back my DSC (Distinguished Service Cross) in anger. I put it over my neck with a newfound pride.

"Yep, me and Charles both got this for taking down those bastard Natzis. I also ranked up like Call of Duty. No longer am I Private First Class Loomis, I am now Command Sergeant Major Loomis.

It's a pretty long rank name.

Even though it's only nine ranks higher than Private First Class, they were still hesitant to give me it, despite the very impressive feat I've done for Britain.

Speaking of Britain." I reached into my pocket, and for once, there was actually something in it instead of pulling it out of the inventory.

I pulled out a key.

"The UK's reward for my deeds was definitely more promising to me than this medal, 5,000 dollars, and a new rank. The United Kingdom gave me this key to the city of Southhampton, where the war took place in one of their towns."

The look of jealousy only continued to grow on Stu's face.

"I can't believe this. This is ludicrous. I should be out their on the front lines!"

"Well, you'll have to catch up one day pal." I winked at the unfortunate soul and sat down on the bed. I admired the key for many moments, already planning another visit.

Hopefully next time, it'll be on a better occasion.

"Detonate the explosives on my count. Three, two, one."

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

I quickly made my way out of the German camp and into a truck with all the stolen rations. A platoon of heavily armed American soldiers got into the back, protecting the goods.

"Everybody here?" After a few seconds of checking, I got confirmation that everyone who came to this mission was still alive.

I put the petal to the metal and drove into the direction of a food pantry that only held rations for soldiers in the war.

It's been a few months since the "Battle Of Southhampton" and not a lot has changed.

Stu's finally gotten deployed and was on some big missions. He's no longer a private and is now a Sergeant Major.

I on the other hand, have progressed a bit better than him.

I'm now a First Lieutenant, meaning I was now capable of leading missions, strategizing most of it, and even creating missions. But only small missions, nothing too major.

Speaking of missions, I'd just finished one.

This mission was simple. We're low on rations, go steal some from the Germans. Just go in, take their food, and leave. We were also tasked with destroying it too.

This isn't the first time I've done this kind of mission, I've even made a reputation for myself by doing it so many times.

They call me "Swiper". They called me that, because when I get sent on missions for stealing things, I take more than what the mission details describe.

Like, if I walk into a room and find the thing I was tasked to get, and the Heart of The Universe is in there too. I'm gonna take both of them.

One for me, and the other for America. It's a pretty easy choice, and a pretty nice deal if I do say so myself.

Anyways, I pulled into the food pantry after passing through a gate, and stopped at the back of the well sized building.

A garage door opened in the back and I started to help all the other soldiers unload all the rations into the storage space. I walked past and greeted most of the workers there.

I left the building hastily with the other soldiers, and back into a different truck that wouldn't be driven by me this time.

"Hey, try to be quick, yeah?" The driver only nodded.

I was only in such a hurry because the general told me that an important meeting needed to be held with very important people, and I had to be there.

After a few hours of driving, we made it back to base and I wasted no time in making my way towards the meeting room I was told to go to.

I knocked on the door and stood there for a few seconds, waiting to be let in. A click sound entered my ear and the door opened.

Behind the door was a man with a black two piece suit, that was neatly complemented by his dark tinted glasses that completely hid his eyes. He easily reminded me of a movie I saw in my past life.

The man didn't say anything when he opened the door, he probably just needed me to enter. I proceeded to do so and observed the people in the room.

I definitely didn't recognize most of the individuals in the room, except for a few generals, politicians, and… the President..

The President.. of the United States of America was here. Now my interest peaked, 10 fold.

What was so important that the President had to get involved?

Despite the recognizable faces, there were some faces I couldn't see at all. They were all dressed exactly like the man who opened the door.

'Must be the FBI.'

"Take a seat." The General who told me to come here said. I didn't ponder any longer about the situation, and decided to sit down in the only empty seat in the room.

"Now that everyone is here. Let's begin the meeting."

(No one really cares what this meeting is about, so I'll skip it and give you a short explanation later.)

—————————

One by one, every important figure started exiting the room after the meeting ended. This was probably the longest time I've ever sat down somewhere, besides getting imprisoned in the Void of Divinity.

I felt a lot of emotions during this meeting. I felt interested, confused, surprised, and honored. None of these emotions were displayed in that order, but multiple times at different times.

I was tasked with a very important mission, well, in the eyes of the military.

I was getting transferred to the 1st Calvary Division to help more in the war, but I also had to scout for other potential members of the CIA, which would start to get established soon. President Franklin Roosevelt gave me a few bags full of suits, glasses, and badges.

Thankfully, I won't be the only person recruiting CIA agents. Other people I recruit will recruit people too, but I'm still the decider about who joins and who doesn't.

After my services to the military are over, I'll be transferred once again, this time to a base that can't be found on any physical maps and is completely off any radars.

And from there, I'll be in command of the CIA, only behind the President. At least, until I'm trustworthy enough to do it on my own.

I felt excited to know that I'm basically the first ever CIA Agent.

Of course, joining it was "easier said than done." I put quotations because the test they gave me to join wasn't necessarily hard, or much of a challenge, but if I wasn't as powerful and smart as I am, it'd give me a run for my money.

It seemed like this government was more competent, and wanted a secret group of super powered agents. It was a dangerous task and idea, but regardless of the risks, I would do it.

I would be doing a great service to America, and would be bound to get the Medal of Honor, which would put me greatly ahead of Stu.

Plus, I'd be able to live out my Men In Black childhood dreams of being a secret agent who was technically above the law. Unfortunately, the CIA isn't as great as a Shield Agent, but I'd rather be the former still.

I walked into the sleeping quarters and got ready to tell Stu the bad news, well, bad news for him, not me.

"Hey buddy. How's it going?" He was reading a comic book when he heard me. He looked up from it with a look of suspicion.

"You have something bad to tell me. I can already feel it." He put down the book and took a deep breath, preparing himself for the news.

"Lay it on me."

"I'm getting transferred to the 1st Infantry Division and I'm the first CIA agent. I've been tasked with recruiting other CIA agents." Stu's face went from expectant, to blank in a matter of a couple sentences.

I felt his anger and irritation building up, so I stopped him before he could.

"But! I also have some good news." I pulled out a badge from my pocket and threw it at him.

"Congratulations, you're the second member of the CIA. You'll stay here, and recruit other intelligent and strong people you meet on your missions and journeys. Good luck bud." I pat his shoulder and left for Texas without saying another word.
