Chapter 17

"Thank you for participating in the experiment." Maestro said to him with a smile.

"No problem. At least I got the powers. So I can return right? I mean, we did do the testing." Ethan said to him curiously.

"Yes, you can go." Maestro said with a nod.

Ethan nodded back before he walked away from him. He exited the place and went on his way while Maestro was looking through the data he got as he smiled at it.

"The serum has been a success for sure. Now I just have to make sure that none in the room remembers it." Maestro muttered to himself as he looked at the people in the room alongside him as he smiled.

Meanwhile Ethan had used a bike to get back to the house as he parked it. He got off it and went to the door and rang the bell. He heard the sound of footsteps before the door was flung open by Amelie. She looked at him alarmed before she pulled him inside.

She closed the door almost immediately before she hugged him tight and buried her face in his chest. Ethan responded by slowly wrapping his hands around her and rubbing her back reassuringly.

"It's okay Amelie. I'm here." Ethan said as she hugged her.

"Are... Are you really okay?" Amelie asked him after few seconds of silence.

"Yes I am. The experiment was a success and I did get powers. My body is also very strong now." Ethan said to her with a comforting smile.

"Really?" Amelie asked him with eyes of concern.

Ethan felt like he was looking at a puppy when she looked at him. He gently smiled at her before he walked to the couch and sat there with her. He gently caressed her hair and rubbed her back as he looked at her with a smile.

"Look, I'm alright and I don't have any mental problems as well. My memory is fine as well and we have done tests already." Ethan said to her with a smile.

Amelie listened to him as she nodded to him. She looked at him for a few more seconds before she leaned onto him and hugged him again. Ethan sighed one more time before he hugged her back as she buried her face in his chest.

'So warm. I feel safe when I'm with him.' Amelie thought to herself with a small smile as she hugged him.

They stayed like that for a few minutes as Ethan noted how they have become quite close to each other in the time since he had saved her from HYDRA's control. He didn't mind it though, since he knew that she needed it.

He tried to go to the kitchen but she kept a voice grip on him and refused to let him go. She kept her hold on him like a koala as he looked at her. He looked at her as she hid her face from view while she blushed from her own actions.

'I don't want him to leave me. Even for a second.' Amelie thought to herself as she hugged him.

"Amelie, I want to get some water from the kitchen." Ethan said to her.

"I'm not letting go." Amelie said to him.

"But it will only take a few seconds." Ethan said to her with a chuckle.

But she didn't say anything and instead just hugged him tighter. It got the message across as he sighed at her behaviour. He then picked her up using his right arm as she squeaked in surprise at his actions.

He would've just stayed there but he really wanted to drink the water so he made his way to the kitchen and drank some much needed water before he went back to the couch and placed her there.

"There. Now you can hug me for as long as you want." Ethan said to her with a calm voice.

Amelie blushed at his words but she didn't refute him as she sat at that position. Meanwhile Ethan wondered about what she should do now that he has new powers.

Time skip

"Amelie? Why are you awake in the middle of the night?" Ethan asked confused as he woke up.

He was sleeping but woke up due to wanting to go to the bathroom but he then saw Amelie sitting on the bed. He was confused at it as he also got up and looked at her to her with a blank expression on her face.

"Amelie?" Ethan asked worried as he saw her face.

She turned to look at him with a blank look on her face.

"Gerard?" Amelie said as she looked at him.

'Is she half asleep?' Ethan thought to himself as he looked at her.

"Gerard." Amelie said as she leaned on him.

"Amelie?" Ethan asked confused at her behaviour.

She looked at him with blank eyes before she raised her head. He felt a soft sensation on his lips as his eyes widened as he was kissed by Amelie. She pushed him on the bed as she kissed him.

He was stunned by what she was doing as he didn't think that she would do something like this. She slipped her tongue inside his mouth as she licked his tongue and explored the inside of his mouth.

He came to his senses as he grabbed her shoulders and separated her from him. The sudden movement caused her to shake a bit as her eyes became unfocused as she furrowed her eyebrows before they came back to focus.

"Gerard?" Amelie said as she looked at him groggily.

Her vision was blurry but it cleared soon enough as she saw Ethan looking at her. Her yes widened when she got her bearings as she immediately got off of him and looked at him shocked as realisation set in.

"E-Ethan, I didn't..." Amelie said shocked as she looked at him.

Ethan got up and grabbed her shoulders causing her to freeze, but he gave a gentle smile and pulled her to lay on the bed as she looked at him confused.

"It's fine. I know you miss your husband." Ethan said to her calmly.

"But I just..." Amelie said with a guilty look.

"I said it's fine didn't I. Besides, getting kissed by a beautiful woman isn't exactly a bad thing." Ethan said with a smile.

"B-Beautiful!" Amelie said shocked as she blushed.

'It makes me very happy to hear that.' Amelie thought to herself with a blush.

"Yeah. So don't worry. Just sleep tight. I'm here." Ethan said to her as he hugged her close to his chest protectively.

Amelie blushed more but she didn't mind his offer as she leaned onto his chest in response as she hugged him.

'I wish he was naked.' Amelie thought absentmindedly before she blushed heavily when she realised what she had thought.

Ethan didn't know about it as her face was buried in his chest as they hugged each other. Soon they both fell asleep in each other's embrace. But soon Amelie opened her eyes, but this time her eyes were sharp as she looked at his chest before she raised her head a bit and looked at his face as she narrowed her eyes
