31 Sixty-Nine

After we reached my house, I prepared food for everyone while thinking about how to bring up the topic of Kurt's family. We agreed with Jean that this was a more private matter and that I was the better one to tell him about it.

We had our meals, and I helped grandma to bed. Leaving her only after a massage. I planned on making her a ring with an enchantment for vitality, so she has an easier time. I just wasn't sure if that would mess with her lifespan or not.

I then knocked on Kurt's door.

"Come in," he said, and I entered. He was sitting on his computer, about to start a game.

"Hey, um, I gotta talk with you about something," I said, and he turned towards me.

"Vhat's up?" Kurt asked.

"So, I have an Observe skill that provides me with information on anything I use it," I started, and Kurt nodded in understanding.

"Well, I've used it on you," I said.

"And? Vhat did it tell you?" Kurt asked excitedly.

"It told me who your parents are..." I decided to be straightforward about it.

"Really? I'm... not sure vhat to zink of zis," Kurt said, looking away. "Zey abandoned me vhen I vas little, probably because of ze vay I look. I don't know if I vant to know vho zey are."

"You can't be too sure about that. You can at least get to ask them that," I said.

"Fine, you can tell me vho they are, but it vill decide if I should speak viz zem or not," Kurt said.

"One of the is Azazel," I said, and Kurt flinched. He was definitely not expecting that one.

"Like the Fallen Angel? Oh, please don't tell me it's him!" Kurt said.

"I don't know. I know Heaven actually exists, but I haven't read about any Fallen Angels. It just might be someone that has that name," I said, and Kurt sighed in relief. Knowing how much he values his religion, I can somewhat understand him.

"Vho is ze ozer?" Kurt asked.

"Mystique," I said, and his eyes widened in surprise.

"You can't be serious? The leader of ze Brozerhood? Really?" Kurt asked, and I nodded to confirm.

"Can your ability be vrong?" He then asked me.

"So far, it hasn't lied to me once or provided me with wrong information," I informed him.

"I... I need some alone time to zink," Kurt said, and I obliged by leaving the room.

Before I closed the door, I said, "If you need someone to talk with, just sent me a message in the Guild chat."

Kurt just nodded to confirm that he heard me, and I then went to my room.

Earlier, we learned that we can send a message to the entire Guild or to just someone specific. I'm sure he will contact me if he needed something.

I then entered the Mirror Dimension to see Baby Groot. He was standing in his plant pot, looking out of the window of my room. Once he heard me, he turned around with a smile on his little face.

"I am Groot!" He said with his hands outstretched.

"Hello to you too," I patted him on the head, and he hugged my finger. I then watered his soil before asking him.

"Little one, do you want to join my Guild?"

"I am Groot!" I didn't expect a different answer, but I had to ask.

"Invite Baby Groot to Sanctuary."

I didn't even need to explain to him what the benefits are of joining, as apparently, he learned very fast.

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

He spammed the Guild chat the moment he got access to it.

"No, little one, don't do that," I tried to sound stern, but he was too cute for that.

"I am Groot?" He tilted his head in confusion.

"I know you were trying to introduce yourself, but don't spam the chat. Once was enough," I said.

"I am Groot," he said.

"I can assure you, they got the first message. Don't worry, little one."

[Peter Parker: I'm Peter Parker!]

...

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

[Jean Grey: Hello, Baby Groot. I'm Jean Grey.]

[Baby Groot: I am Groot!]

I... might've made a mistake, a big one at that.

"Little one, if you promise not to spam the chat, I will bring the others to meet you," I said.

"I am Groot!"

Good, he promised to not spam.

Since that was taken care of, it was time for me to start my nightly training.

For two hours straight, two hours, I enchanted every single bone in my Inventory. With all the boosts I already had, the skill improved quickly and passed level 35. That was important, as I was now able to place medium enchantments and also three of them.

I found out that medium enchantments were three times as strong as weak ones, and I was satisfied with that for the moment. I worked on the skill a bit more, raising it to level 40, so I can place four enchantments before deciding it's time to begin my training.

After increasing the weight of all my clothes, I started working on my physical stats. With my time dilation Dungeons, I had more than a day worth of time to train during the night, so for ten hours straight, I did just that.

Thanks to the weighted clothes, I improved extremely quick, but I did have to unequip my bow since it was boosting my Dexterity by too much.

While I worked on my physical stats, I also spammed my lower-leveled Magic skills to increase them as well. I mostly focused on Illusion Magic and Telekinesis.

Illusion Magic was something that had a lot of potential. At least I believed it did. If I can make illusions that will look real enough, I can fight enemies without even being seen. It can also act as a stealth skill since I can layer an illusion over me, making others believe I wasn't there, to begin with.

Telekinesis was on obvious one since I saw what Jean was able to do with it. She had literally held the Boss in place, not letting him move even a single one of his bones.

Plus, it also allows me to fly. Something I was finally able to do! With my high MP and MP regen, I could fly around, and I did just that for about an hour, enjoying the feeling. That was also a good way to train the skill, as it was already past 50.

Mana Clone was the last skill I used. I mostly made the replica keep reading the books in my Inventory. When the skill passed level 10, it gave me the option to create two clones. The mana cost was still a permanent 10%, but both clones had 10% of my strength. They were also able to stay active for more than 10 hours.

This skill might turn out to be a lot better than I believed. If at max I can create eleven clones who all have 10% of my power, then that's like basically having another me in full strength.

Done with fooling around with Telekinesis, it was time for me to get my hands on a Cryokinesis book! The skeleton mobs got massacred in minutes, and the Boss shortly made his appearance.

"Say hello to my little friend." I had my Bow and Arrow of Apollon in my hands with a fire arrow already drawn.

I began bombarding the Boss with nonstop fire arrows, and I killed it extremely fast. My Dexterity was so high with the bonus from the bow and Mana Strengthening that I was able to fire about 10 arrows in a second.

It took me no more than a few minutes to kill the boss. Ah, the beauty of overpowered equipment.

[Acquired Magical Skill Book: Pyrokinesis]

Don't you worry stingy Boss, you will drop it one way or another.

One hour and many more attempts later, the Skeleton King fell once more.

[Acquired Magical Skill Book: Dark Magic]

Wait! That's new! I got a new Magic! I instantly consumed the book.

[Dark Magic(Active) Lvl. 1/100: This Magic allows the user to generate and manipulate darkness at will. Dark Magic spells are slower and require longer to cast, but they deal a lot of damage. MP cost depended on the shape and quantity of darkness. The higher the skill, the less MP it would cost for all actions. Damage depends on Intelligence.]

Hello there.

It's not what I had been aiming for, but it was a new skill. And you know what they say about skills, the more, the merrier.

I will certainly work on that one, I just need to bully the Skeleton King a bit more.

Half an hour later, and I finally got the stupid skill book!

[Cryokinesis(Active) Lvl 1/100: The user can generate, manipulate, and fully control ice, snow, and cold temperatures. MP cost depended on the shape, quantity, and temperature of the ice. The higher the skill, the less MP it would cost for all actions. Damage depends on Intelligence.]

Finally! Now I can continue my grind in peace. I still had about 20 more hours left in my time dilation Dungeon, so I worked on my Martial Arts and Weapon Mastery for five hours straight.

Weapon Mastery already got some increases since I used a bow against the Boss.

Martial Arts, which I considered the more important of the two, didn't. The skill directly increased my physical stats, and at max level would triple them.

After finishing with those, I moved onto Meditation and working on my magical plus resistance skills.

I got a Darkness Resistance by using my new Dark Magic, adding even more passive skills to my list. It felt good to be a broken character.

After I felt satisfied with my progress there, I decided to look into a new Dungeon. I chose the Ogre one.

[Ogre Lvl. 55]

Each one stood about 20 feet tall with large clubs in their hands, and their bodies were packed with muscles. Taking a hit from one of them would definitely hurt. That's if they can even hit me.

With my bow equipped and Mana Strengthening Activated, I had over 500 Dexterity. They couldn't even reach me, and I was able to shoot them from afar with fire arrows.

Each one dropped $5, but at this point, I had so much money that didn't even matter to me. They also dropped their clubs, but those weren't even rare items. Stingy Ogres.

Soon enough, I killed enough for the Boss to spawn. He was easily twice as large as the normal ogres with two heads instead of one.

[Two-Headed Ogre Champion Lvl. 100]

The Boss was way faster than the others and had two clubs. However, he wasn't able to catch up to me no matter what, and that was without me using portals.

I could just keep my distance and shoot fire arrows at him, but I wanted to test out the skill of the bow.

I charged up the skill, and a blinding red arrow formed on the bow. I felt the pressure just by holding onto the arrow, and I released it at the Boss.

It flew extremely fast at the Ogre and hit him square in the chest. What followed was a massive explosion that would've waken all of New York if I wasn't in the Mirror Dimension.

Holy crap! There was a crater the size of a gym with fire burning all around it.

I guess I should've expected that as my Intelligence was over 600, which meant that did over 60 000 damage.
