9 Boss

The next morning passed the same way for me. Wake up, make breakfast, and then leave for Kamar-Taj.

The Ancient One greeted me before she directed me towards the language books. I picked Greek next and instantly noticed something different.

First, I was able to read it at a faster pace. Way faster. I was going through it like it was a book made for kids.

Second, everything I read was imprinted in my brain. My memorization had improved drastically.

So, increasing my mental stats had an effect on me as well. They didn't just improve my MP related stats.

This was incredible!

Yesterday, it took me two hours to learn Arabic, which was already impressive on its own, but today, in two hours, I learned two languages, Greek and Latin.

That makes it three languages in two days. Three!

If I can learn languages this fast, then what about other types of studies? ... I'm so making myself a Dr. Doom kind of armor as soon as I get my Crafting up. No one knows how he made it, but I'm going to do it my own way.

"You learned two languages today?" The Ancient One looked at me strangely.

"Tomorrow, I'm gonna learn three!"

I told her with complete confidence in my ability to do it since my Language skill was now at 4 at as well.

"Did you get a skill for that as well?" She sighed, almost sounding tired.

I think she finally accepted how broken I am.

"Maybe~" I swaggered away with a skip in my step.

The movement training was next.

The Skill Mana Affinity plus the title Apprentice Sorcerer was soo good! I gained another level to Portal Creation and 3 to Eldritch Magic! Even Martial Arts increased by 1.

What followed was sparring, and I was up against Mordo again. This time, it will be different since I have a new trick up my sleeve.

"I hope you've learned your lesson. I want yo..."

"Spinning Mana Bullet!"

The spell was much faster than Energy Blast, so I didn't expect Mordo to be able to conjure a shield to block it.

For a brief moment, both him and I stared at each other in surprise. Him, not thinking that I would attack him during his speech, and I, not believing he would have such an astonishing reaction time.

"That w..."

"Spinning Mana Bullet!"

"Spinning Mana Bullet!"

"Spinning Mana Bullet!"

I just spammed the heck out of the ability. I didn't want to even give Mordo a chance. I remember what happened yesterday, and I was here for revenge.

Spinning Mana Bullet even leveled up a few times. Thank you, OP skill plus title combination. When it got to level 3, it came with the benefit of creating two bullets.

My barrage of bullets became even fiercer, but the shield in front of him stood firm.

I was so engrossed in firing my spell, I didn't notice his staff sliding beneath me and capturing my feet. Before I knew it, I was flying headfirst into the ground. He slammed me a few more times before I was left with 50 HP.

I stood up with my face bleeding badly, but I wasn't too worried. I pulled out some of the food I cooked in the morning and some of the tea I coerced from the Ancient One. This should be enough to fill my HP and heal my wounds.

"You have new tricks, and you even sneak attacked." Mordo walked next to me, and he was smiling? Why was he smiling?

"All is fair in love and war, and this is war!"

"Ah, you've learned, and you learn fast," Mordo said, and I think I sensed pride in his voice.

Noo, why are you being like this? Now, I feel bad for sneak attacking you.

"Never give you enemy the chance to talk, unless you want to solve the conflict peacefully. Talking will only allow your enemy to prepare a plan, especially if your enemy knows Magic."

Noo, stop! Don't be like this. Say something like how unhonorable it is to sneak attack.

"I did it because I wanted revenge! I just wanted to beat you!"

Yeah, now you can hate me, come on.

"Ah, wanting to win is not a bad thing. That's a goal, something for you to aim, but do not let your emotions cloud your judgment."

Mordo! Why? Stop being nice. Be the 'I'm gonna beat that arrogance out of you' Mordo.

Now, I really feel bad for sneak attacking you.

"I think you've healed up, let's co..."

"Spinning Mana Bullet!"

The scene was almost in slow motion to my eyes as Mordo opened up a portal, and the bullet flew in it. Another portal opened in front of me, and the spell slammed into my head. Ouch.

"You learn fast, but I also learn."

Yeah, I no longer regret that I sneak attacked you.

The spar was another loss for me, but my skills improved. That's what mattered most.

We fought a few more times, and I'm not commenting on the outcome of the spars.

Before I left for New York, the Ancient One wanted to speak with me.

"There is no need for you to come back during the week. Focus on your school work and return on the weekend."

"What?" No! This place is a gold mine for me!

"Practise what you've learned, improve yourself using your... ability."

My bullshit senses tingled, and I sensed what she wanted to call it. Still, I'm not happy about this. At least I can get to level up a few times, but... I'll be missing on the easy skill farming known as Kama-ka-what.

---

It's not like the Ancient One wanted to limit William's learning. Watching his incredible growth was almost satisfying. Although the Ancient One was a bit envious of his ability. How long did the old woman spend learning what William learned in a few days?

However, that wasn't why she told him not to come. Kamar-Taj won't be safe in the next few days. He had improved greatly, but it was better for him to stay out of it.

---

I was sad, so I decided to take it out on some zombies. I created a Dungeon, but just a few minutes later, I was already bored. Zombies were too easy to kill at this point.

I figured I could try and make this a bit more fun for me while also getting some experience in fighting at close range, so I conjured a pair of swords to kill the zombies with.

After killing two, I got a new skill and even a title.

[Sword Mastery(Passive) Lvl. 1/100: Increases the user's proficiency at using swords. Increases attack damage and attack speed when using swords by 2%.]

[After killing over a thousand zombies, you have been awarded the title, Apprentice Undead Slayer. When equipped while fighting the undead, attack power is increased by 30%, defense is increased by 30%, and all stats are increased by 5.]

The title was okay, but the skill was way better since synergizes quite well with Martial Arts. But, if I can get a skill about swords, then what about other weapons?

I switched to a spear, and after killing a few zombies, I got a skill for that as well. Well, it was time to see how many of them I can get.

[Blunt Mastery...]

[Axe Mastery...]

[Pike Mastery...]

[Shield Mastery...]

And then they all combined into one.

[Weapon Mastery(Passive) Lvl. 1/100: Increases the user's proficiency at using all kinds of weapons. Increases attack damage and attack speed when using a weapon by 2%.]

Well, with this skill combined with Martial Arts and Physical Endurance, I could become a physical powerhouse.

Weapon Mastery was also a great skill because I was able to increase it while also increasing Martial Arts and Eldritch Magic at the same time. Ah, I'm such a broken character.

The low leveled zombies were a perfect target for this, and for the first time ever, I decided to see if there is an actual end to them in the Dungeon or if they spawn indefinitely.

Usually, I would kill all the zombies around me before using Exit ID and creating another Dungeon after that. Why bother searching for zombies, when I can create new ones in the blink of an eye.

Today, however, I was bored, and I wanted to see the limits of Create ID.

While massacring the zombies, I also leveled up twice and placed 7 points into Wisdom, getting it to 51.

[Skill, High-Speed Calculation, has been created as Wisdom increased over 50.]

[High-Speed Calculation (Passive) Lvl. Max: Increases the speed at which the user's brain works. Casting Speed increased by 50%. The user can now cast 2 spells at the same time.]

This is amazing, I can now use both Eldritch Magic to create a shield around me and fire Spinning Mana Bullets at the same time.

I was marveling at the new possibilities for me when I heard some rumblings behind me. Turning around, I saw something raise itself over the houses in my neighborhood.

[Legion Zombie Lvl. 34. The amalgam of hundreds of zombies combined into one. It appears when a large number of zombies are slaughtered in a single area. Has no special abilities besides its incredible physical strength.]

The Legion Zombie towered above all the houses, but all I could think of was Boss fight! I did want something stronger to fight, and it came.

I began firing Spinning Mana Bullets at it. The skill was level 9 already, and I could fire 4 of them at the same time.

The Boss roared and charged at me. It wasn't that fast, but it was huge, and each of his steps carried it closer to me.

I just stood in place and continued firing at it. When the Legion Zombie neared me, I created a portal underneath me and appeared a distance away.

The Boss had no way of reaching or hurting me unless I run out of mana, but I can always portal away to safety before that happens. Then I can just wait for a bit to recharge before fighting it again. This was going to be an easy fight.

I considered switching my title to Apprentice Zombie Slayer, but I chose not to. I will be able to kill it faster, but with Apprentice Sorcerer, my Magic skills will increase faster. I have to be efficient about this.

Halfway through the fight, the Legion Zombie got enraged. It hadn't even gotten a single hit on me while I kept firing spells at it. It plucked a lamp post and threw it at me.

I decided to take a page out of Mordo's book. I created a portal in front of me, and the lamp post flew in before flying out from another portal that appeared behind the Legion Zombie.

"Why are you hitting yourself?" I felt like a playground bully.

That got the Boss even angrier, and it started throwing anything it could get its hands on me. That just made the fight easier for me.

I kept forming portals in front of me, and all of the Legion Zombie attacks got redirected back at it.

Twenty minutes later, the Boss fell after hitting itself too many times, and I leveled up twice from that.

Happily, I skipped towards where the Legion Zombie fell. Knowing that I can fight Bosses in my Dungeons, I knew what I was going to do for the next week.

My eyes nearly popped out of my socket when I reached the place the Boss died. There was a nice stack of 10$ bills plus two blue and two red potions.

[Lowest Grade Mana Potion(Common): Recovers 200 MP when drank.]

[Lowest Grade Health Potion(Common): Recovers 200 HP when drank.]

I stored both in my Inventory before picking up the stack of bills. The cash in my status instantly shot up by 500.

Oh, I'm going to farm this Boss so many times this week and become rich while getting stronger!
