Chapter 814 "Taking Control of The Kryptonian Ship"

"Protego Maxima!" Jerry yelled as he cast a protective spell on the entire city.

After Jerry teleported beneath the Kryptonian warship, he pressed his hands to the ground, conjuring a massive magic circle that instantly enveloped the entire Metropolis in a protective shield.

"Let's hope this lasts before Clark finishes his business with Zod," Jerry mused to himself.

The magic shield expanded rapidly outward from Jerry's position, forcibly deflecting the energy beam launched by the Kryptonian warship.

"How is this possible?" One of the scientists exclaimed.

One of them took control of the firing panel and tried to make its output the fullest.

Jerry felt the massive laser beam put quite a dent into his magical reserves, "Now, you are no fun. Going all out when we just get started."

Inside the warship, Kryptonian scientists and pilots stared in horror as their energy beam was thwarted. They were bewildered by the unexpected display of formidable defense from a civilization they had deemed technologically inferior.

Their confusion quickly turned to recognition as a figure emerged from the shield and landed squarely before their warship.

It was Jerry, the Earthling who had infiltrated the ship with Clark and abducted their deputy commander.

Clearly, Jerry was responsible for this impressive defense.

"Kill him!" The scientist commanded angrily.

With the source of their disruption identified, the Kryptonians wasted no time in mobilizing for an attack.

They believed that eliminating Jerry would dismantle the shield below, allowing them to resume their planet transformation efforts without further interference.

With the Kryptonian scientist's command, the battleship's Kryptonian pilots swiftly maneuvered its mechanical tentacles to assail Jerry.

Crafted from Krypton's most advanced technology, these tentacles boasted incredible speed and flexibility—so potent that even Superman would struggle to break free if ensnared.

Comparatively, Earth's planes and tanks were like tofu—easily pierced upon contact by every single spell or weapon coming from Jerry's arsenal.

Despite Jerry's current resilience, he had no intention of engaging in close quarters with the Kryptonian battleship's formidable appendages.

As two tentacles lunged towards him with alarming speed, he promptly conjured a spatial portal directly in their path, with the other end opening onto the surface of the Kryptonian warship.

Boom!

With a resounding impact, the two mechanical tentacles surged through the portal and collided with the warship, gouging two sizable craters on its surface.

The defense of the Kryptonian warship was robust; even Earth's missiles could not dent it. Yet, the ship's mechanical tentacles clearly wielded even greater destructive power.

"What the?!" The scientist from Krypton felt fear for the first time as he observed Jerry easily repelled all of their attacks.

In the progress of civilization, offense perpetually outstrips defense.

"Activate particle attack mode!"

The bald scientist aboard the Kryptonian warship swiftly responded, reconfiguring the mechanical tentacles to besiege Jerry instead of engaging the human fighters.

While the fighters' attacks posed little threat to the warship, failure to neutralize Jerry would jeopardize their plans to transform Earth.

"Fascinating, this is quite ingenious," Jerry remarked as he observed the tentacles' altered tactics, a hint of surprise flickering across his face.

As the tentacles struck at him and were transported back to the warship through his portals, they were instantaneously atomized, reintegrated into the warship, and then redeployed as tentacles once more.

Despite the onslaught, Jerry remained composed, and a faint smile appeared on his lips. "Let's dance till the end, baldy!"

"You Earthling with your stupid insults! Perish!" The scientist shouted furiously before he tried to take a weapon near him.

"Now, it's nearly time," he murmured to himself, observing the mechanical appendages converging from all angles.

He calmly withdrew the portals and clasped his hands behind his back, betraying no concern about the impending assault.

"Halt!" With a commanding shout, the eight mechanical tentacles abruptly ceased their advance.

"What's happening?" The bald scientist immediately queried the operator.

"I don't know, the control systems just went offline all at once!"

"Same here!"

"It's happening across the entire ship!"

Confusion gripped not only the Kryptonian pilot managing the mechanical tentacles but also every other crew member responsible for the phantom launcher and spacecraft navigation.

Their attempts to issue commands to the battleship were futile, as if someone had wrested control away from them.

Simultaneously, above the magical defense shield shrouding Metropolis, the Kryptonian warship with its eight tentacles unexpectedly spoke in a somewhat crude voice, "Master, what are your orders? Command me, I excel in all forms of tasks!"

"Uh, no need for now. Stay put and seal off all exits on the ship. Ensure no one escapes," Jerry directed, watching the warship now imbued with a new personality thanks to his awakening spell.

A wry smile played on Jerry's lips. When he teleported Clark and Faora away, he had secretly left an invisible clone atop the Kryptonian warship, thereby awakening its consciousness.

Due to the immense size and advanced technology of the Kryptonian warship, the awakening process took some time, culminating only moments ago in its full awakening.

"I didn't expect this new personality to turn out like this. Could it be reflecting some subconscious habit?" Jerry pondered aloud.

"Yes, master!" replied the Kryptonian warship's newfound, albeit somewhat quirky, personality, demonstrating its obedience like any other awakened entity.

Satisfied with the outcome, Jerry swiftly flew towards the battleground where Clark and Zod clashed.

While the warship's offensive capabilities were formidable, its current task of detaining the dozen or so non-combatant Kryptonian technicians was adequate.

Jerry didn't anticipate it could directly aid against Zod and his fighters.

Individuals from Kryptonian society are genetically engineered for specific roles dictated by the treasure gene, resulting in varying combat proficiencies.

Fighters like Zod, Faora, and the Kryptonian warriors are honed for combat, whereas individuals such as the bald scientist and technicians excel in intellectual pursuits.

It's no challenge for the Kryptonian warship to ensnare scientists and technicians, but facing warriors like Zod could lead to their swift defeat.

Clark considered employing his father's specialized program to commandeer the spacecraft, yet Jerry vetoed the idea. Jor-El's program could briefly control the warship, but its discovery would prompt technicians to revoke its authority swiftly and without fail.

"It appears I still can't handle this alien technology!" Jerry remarked.

Arriving at the battlefield where Clark and Zod clashed, Jerry observed Clark and Faora in a dire situation. Zod had deployed three Kryptonian warriors to subdue Clark, while Faora was overwhelmed by ten others.

Had Zod not been unaware of Jerry's control over Faora through undisclosed means, he might have inadvertently allowed her to suffer fatal injuries at the hands of the ten warriors.

"It seems Clark hasn't fully tapped into his potential," Jerry stated after seeing how Clark is currently having a hard time facing against Zod.

If it were the resurrected black-suited Superman, whose abilities were maximized after revival by the Mother Box's energy, he likely could have handled Zod and his dozen warriors alone.

Presently, Superman remained notably less potent when he still has most of his humanity intact.
