Vs the avengers! part 0

After a long day of teaching and punishing the kids for their little space stunt. Nathan and Rachel finally retired to their room to rest. Or so that was how it was supposed to be. But thanks to his ability to manipulate energy and Rachel's connection to it. Both of them were violently awakened by the Phoenix Force.

Nathan and Rachel both jerked up from their beds in a sweat.

" Tell, me that wasn't real."

Nathan asked the woman as he wiped the sweat from his head.

" I don't know. It could have just been a shared nightmare like before. Or..."

Rachel was explaining.

" Or it could be real."

Nathan said finishing the woman's sentence.

" It's almost time for the others to get up. Perhaps we should just wake them now."

Nathan asked.

" Maybe, or maybe we wait? I don't know."

Rachel said to the man in genuine Panick.

" I'm going to wake the others, something this big can't be put off."

Nathan said to the woman as he got out of bed.

" And what are you going to tell them?"

Rachel asked.

" The truth. We just both felt the phoenix force enter the galaxy once again. And I think our dream means it's coming here to earth. For whom or what I don't know. But I do know I don't wanna be caught with my pants down when it comes to this cosmic bird"

Nathan explained to the woman as he placed his clothes on. He kissed Rachel on her head and walked out of the room and started knocking on all of the head staff's doors waking them earlier than usual and bringing them all of them came out of their rooms grumbling.

" Look, I'm sorry to wake you all up but I have bad news."

Nathan said to the gathered group.

" What is Rachel, Pregnant?"

Gambit asked tactfully. His question earned him a slap on the back of the head from rogue.

" No, much worse."

Nathan replied.

" Well, get to it! What is it?"

Kitty asked.

" Rachel and I we were sleeping, and something woke us. Something bad. I think the Phoenix Force is coming back."

Nathan explained to the group.

They all instantly perked up and looked at the man in shock.

" Are you sure man? I mean, you guys could have just been dreaming."

Bobby asked the man.

" I'm not entirely sure. But I felt the same thing I felt when Rachel lost the Phoenix Force the first time. Couple that up with us having the same dream at the exact same time. I don't think that is a coincidence."

Nathan explained to the group.

" Well, what do we do? And where's Logan? Why is he never here for these things?"

Bobby asked.

" As for what we do, we need to figure out what it's coming back for."

Nathan replied.

" I believe Ah already know the answer to that question."

Rogue said to the man.

" What do you mean?"

Nathan turned and asked the woman.

" It's coming for Hope. Ah just know it is. Ah think she's the next host for the Phoenix Force."

Rogue explained to the man.

" Back in Utopia, Hope displayed signs of having the Phoenix's powers. Ah think she only had a fraction of it. Ah think the rest is on its way now to claim its host."

Rogue explained to the man.

" Dear god, I'm heading back to Utopia now. The rest of you see if you can get a hold of Logan and put the students on lockdown. I'll see if maybe we can stop this before things get too far out of hand."

Nathan said to the group before running out of the room.

He ran back upstairs to his and Rachel's room and grabbed his gear.

"Where are you going?"

Rachel asked in a panic.

" The phoenix force is coming for its host. I'm going to see if I can help stop this force of destruction before it kills us all."

Nathan explained to the woman.

" Nathan let, Scott handle this. He's the one who's been preaching for the mutant messiah. If the phoenix is coming for its host. Then maybe it's a good thing for our people."

Rachel explained.

" Maybe you're right, Love. And I hope that's the case. I just want to make sure I can help if things get out of hand."

Nathan said to the woman as he placed his clothing on.

" Okay, just be careful. And if you need help call us."

Rachel said to the man.

" I know, love I already told the others to let Logan know what was happening and to be on call should things get out of hand. I love you, Rachel."

Nathan leaned down and kissed the woman softly on her lips before pulling away and flying out of the window. His destination Utopia.

Little did he know the scale of battle he was about to fly headfirst into.

" I love you too, Nathan. I love you so much. So, make sure you come back to me you idiot."

Rachel exclaimed as she watched the man's body vanish over the rising sun.
