5 Storm. Part 2

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

"Wait, wait, I know that quote. Mmmm it's from the bible, right?"

"Yep. I saw it on the internet the other day. They also say it is called the 'Golden Rule'."

"Sounds fancy. Should call it the Awesome Rule. Now that name sounds awesome."

"Yep, you are officially an idiot from this day on."

" Come on, man. Calling someone an idiot is not cool."

"I agree with you there, but only if it is not you."

Son-join pouted and promised himself to get Nolamine for that. They were both nine at the time and Nolamine had discovered what he would call his 'Gift' after noticing what his eyes were capable of.

Their school was full of kids who were bullies just because their brothers were in gangs back then. Nolamine had beaten up the first-ever kid who tried to bully him when they were young and since they were in the playground, everyone had seen it.

It was a miracle that the kid could go to school after some weeks as almost all his teeth had been knocked out. The beating was so severe that they thought Nolamine was possessed at the time.

He knew he had a temper, but that temper would only show itself once you triggered it as he would try with all his might to not get into a fight.

The school bullies had never come after him since then as they would remember that faithful day.

Only those from the surrounding schools would, but they had soon stopped after many were hospitalized. Many would call him the 'Ember Demon' as that was what some would see if they looked at his eyes during getting beaten senseless.

The gangs died down and the bullying stopped. Many forgot about what he was capable of and sometimes went after him. After finding the Golden Rule on the internet, he would do his utmost to ask questions if the situation allowed him to, and with his 'Gift', he would ascertain how much someone wanted to hurt him and inflict that level of hurt to that person.

This is why he asked a question the three thought he asked because he was scared out of his wits.

After witnessing what happened to someone who pulled a knife on them a week ago, Son-join was not scared of the three when he saw that they were delinquents but of the 'Ember Demon' making its debut again.

He reached the second parking lot that had no ceiling and with the storm still running rampant, he had to stay by the steps so as to shelter himself from it.

"Ahh!"

He heard a scream and he gulped. He was never scared of his friend, but ever since they were young, he was scared of him leaving him because of going too far when he went on a rampage.

A few seconds earlier, which was how fast Son-join had reached as far as he had, the tall boy had dashed in and attacked first. It was their go-to move for kids younger than them.

They would have him knock them down with his brass knuckles and then they would beat them using the bet. Lastly, the boy with the scar would cut them above their eye, giving them the same scar he had and thus marking them for life. He liked to see his victims as they walked about in his school.

Nolamine who had plenty of mixed martial arts under his belt due to the dojo always opening and closing had taken a perfect southpaw boxing stance. He was not left-handed but there was a reason why he chose it. He was younger than them but he was as tall as the boy with a scar.

Brass knuckles whistled past his ear as he stepped sideways to avoid them. The sum of all men cried in both heaven and hell because of what he did next.

' There are no rules when facing enemies with weapons.'

He thought, but they were only words of him trying to convince himself of what he was about to do. Just like how you would kick a football with all your strength as you are in front of the goal, the tall boy's egg nest was kicked so hard that everyone there thought his two eggs had cracked open. Even Nolamine winced as he sinned to all men.

The boy's eyes went white as the pain instantly knocked him out. As he fell, he grabbed the hand that had tried to punch him and took his brass knuckle in one fell swoop.

"You busted!"

The two who were left yelled as they dashed in, the scarred boy showing emotions for the first time. He dodged the bat that was aimed at his head with a force that could crush a watermelon. A knife came for his throat but he stepped back in the nick of time. It was clear that they had no disregard for his life at that point.

He dodged many strikes aimed at his head and the thought that the two could kill him if one of their strikes landed infuriated him. After dodging the bat again, the boy wielding the knife was at the back of the one holding the bat. It was clear that they were not used to fighting together.

This allowed him to deal with the bat wielder without having to guard an incoming attack from the one holding the knife.

Using a kick he learned when he was training Kyokushin, he put all his strength in his right foot as he executed a low kick that landed on the side of the boy's right knee, breaking it as it bent at an angle.

"Ahhh!"

This was the scream Son-join heard.

The boy instantly let go of his bat as he bent down to hold his knee but Nolamine had grabbed it before he let it go. Seeing this, the knife-wielder had stepped to the side so he could attack Nolamine. While he was doing that, Nolamine had turned the bat around so to hold it properly.

Just like he was hitting a home run, Nolamine had swung his bat at full force. The boy had made the mistake of looking up when Nolamine had launched his bat at him and the sound of a baseball being hit for a home run was heard throughout the parking lot even with the sound of a storm outside.

The boy fainted right there and then. His jaw had been dislocated and he fell with his mouth wide open.

'Swish.'

A knife went past Nolamines belly and managed to slice him. He had stepped back in time and the wound was as insignificant as a paper cut. The boy had smiled but seeing almost no blood made him grimace.

At that point, the tall boy was waking up. Tears were coming out of his eyes as he crawled to the exit.

The boy with a knife ran at Nolamine wanting to get closer and finish the fight. He was wide open as he did so. His mistake was expecting an attack with the bat he was holding, but Nolamine had other weapons in his arsenal, his legs.

Since there was a distance between them at the time, he stepped in and turned. It was a kick he learned from his Taekwondo training, a 'Back kick', one of the most powerful kicks there is.

With the boy running towards him at full throttle, his Back kicks landed on the boy's stomach, and because of the momentum he had while running towards him, he bent 90 degrees with Nolamines foot almost touching his spine.

He rolled on the ground thereafter because of the power Nolamine had put on the attack. He vomited what he had eaten that day together with some blood.

The knife had been dropped when the kick landed. Nolamine dropped the bat he was holding and picked it up. He went to him as he was laying on his stomach still vomiting.

"Ahhh!"

A knife went through his left butt cheek. For good measure, Nolamine took it out and pledged it in his right butt cheek too.

"Mom! I am sorry!"

The boy apologized to his mother instead of Nolamine. It was clear he thought he was going to die as his soldier domineer was no more.

Nolamine left him and went to the tall boy who was crying and crawling on the floor. He grabbed him by his hair as he helped him to stand up. The boy sobbed as he was now at eye level to a calm boy standing in front of him.

"I am sorry."

He said, but his eyes went wide when he saw what he thought were flams in Nolamine's pupils. His blue eyes making them apparent for that split second.

His wide eyes saw the mother of all punches coming at him, the pain between his legs making it appear like it was traveling in slow motion.

His own brass knuckle met with the front of his mouth as all his front teeth flew out his mouth as he hit the ground. He did not faint but the pain made him unable to move. That one punch had made his face disfigured.

With all of them having had the test of their own medicine, Nolamine took off the brass knuckles and went to find Son-join.

He met him by the steps on the top floor and the blood on his clothes made Son-join think of the worst. He knew what he was thinking when he saw him. He shook his head and smiled.

"Do not worry, they are alive."

He said, to the relief of Son-join.

He was never going to kill them. When he asked if they wanted to kill them or not, the tall boy's answer was not a truthful one, meaning that all they wanted to do was beat them up. That is what bullies would say when fighting someone almost every time.

The two aiming for his head with their weapons was because of what he did to their friends at the time. He had been in so many fights at that point and could understand why they acted the way they did during the fight.

In the end, he did what he had done since he was nine years old, to do unto others as they would do unto him.

"Let's go home, we cannot stay here and the rain looks like it won't stop anytime soon."

He said and Son-join could not agree more. Purple lightning struck just as they were about to turn and go down the steps. As it did, Nolamine saw something in the rain walking towards them.

He stopped and looked at it trying to make sense of it. He stepped into the rain as he could not believe what he was seeing. At the other end of the parking lot, something kin to a black wolf was slowly walking towards them.

That was not why Nolamine had stepped into the rain as he tried to take a good look at it. It was because it was something he had never seen before in his life. It was something you could see in your nightmares.

Its outside appearance looked like it had been dead for some time. It was black and with some of its skin missing, showing its flesh. One eye was hollowed out and to make it even look more creepy was the two hands hanging on its belly.

"Hehehehe..."

Nolamine heard it laugh. But it was not any kind of laugh but a laugh only a hyena could make.

Even that was not what made Nolamine to keep rooted in his spot even after seeing such a monster. What made him freeze where he was, was what he was seeing all around him.

The parking lot, the surrounding building, and as far as he could see, it was all destroyed, like the apocalypse had happened and with the place having a purple hue. Lightning struck again and his vision returned to normal, only the monster was still there and now even closer.

He did not know what was going on but he turned and looked at Son-join who was looking at him with concern. It was clear he had not seen what he saw and could not even see the monster. He took one last look at the monster and saw it growling at him.

putting both his hands on Son-join shoulders, he looked at him straight in the eyes, and with him not calm and with distress this time around, he said...

"Run!"

A word that set Son-join's heart racing. He had never seen his friend like that. He did not hesitate. If he had seen something that even he was scared of, then all he could do was run. He turned around as Nolamine heard footsteps of something running towards them.

"Hehehehehe....!"

Chills ran up his spine when he had its laugh again.
