Chapter 15

A line for copper, a line for iron, and a lesser line for zinc. And with Zinc I was able to upgrade my previous build gun as using Zinc in an activated flux state allowed for the magnetic fields it projected to be much stronger.

Or in other words, my production speed increased a good deal with my build gun being upgraded. 'Though it would be... So much better if I could make the actual build gun from Satisfactory that could synch up to a pocket dimension.' I thought as I worked with the guards to expand the large platform going over the surroundings until we got out of the range of the three previous miners.

Then from there after exiting the range of the Miner's area of digging, we began closing up the factory using the large amount of iron plates and rods that my machines made over the night to create a large dome over the facility.

It was only due to the martial artists that Keqing had here for guards and soldiers who were willing to work as simple laborers that we were able to weld together a meter-wide dome around the area and in the center Keqing was speaking to me seriously as the guards finished up hanging up some lights and securing the massive door I left for the dome entrance.

"Alright, Jake. The ghost living here is a spirit at the Golden Core of Cultivation." Keqing started us off as she showed me how to build an altar for the spirit. "The spirits of the deceased are very rarely... Mentally all there." Keqing spoke as she put together a rather simple shrine being a wooden box surrounded by flowers and some incense burning in front of a blank canvas.

"But vengeful spirits like her who died with heartache due to lost family can be sort of tamed in a way." She continued in explaining while I thought. 'Am I going to be adopted or something?

Thankfully though Keqing dispelled my thoughts as she stated. "So in providing her incense and prayers for protection and her care, the good karma will soothe her mind with the altar acting as a mental focus so her drifting soul won't be so worked up on slaughtering the living to recover her leaking life force." Keqing finished and I realized something... Scary.

The thick incense smoke drifting up from the incense stick only drifted in one fucking direction and then it ever so slightly broke apart into two streams before abruptly disappearing as the drifting invisible spirit absorbed the incense.

"Hmph!" Keqing snorted with amusement seeing my discomfort face and she even continued with a teasing smile. "Jake back in Liyue the old clans have half their power in their damned old ancestors who died centuries and even millennia ago still hanging around their clan estates, who butcher and eat intruders onto their clan's estates. During the Pure Festival, thousands of ghosts wander the streets of Liyue, and with how thick the spiritual energy is on that day... You cannot even tell who is human and who is a ghost!"

I made an X with my hands as I said stiffly. "Whelp looks like I am never going back to Liyue then."

So with the Golden Core spirit supposedly given proper worship so she wouldn't eat my soul in the night or something, I got back to work on the next major section of things.

Defense for said facility.

Due to the Dome's heavily sloped shape, it was perfect to have a small platform atop it with several turret systems built upon it in with slaved turrets keyed into an extremely simple computer system I rigged up over the next couple hours while I pondered over what kind of turrets I should make.

It's not like I could program the computer or anything either to register targets with the materials and time I had on my hands even if I had all the information within my mind on how to do so.

In order to make complicated computer software, I was instead going to need to make powerful hardware first and then make an AI to do the bare bones work of creating a computer operating software. But regardless I could set up pressure plates with the computer system registering which pressure plate was pushed.

When a pressure plate was pushed, a turret then aimed at that area and fired.

While I had decided that I wanted three flame thrower turrets and some heavy-duty shotgun turrets I heard the soldiers call out from the dome's entrance. "Lady Ningguang's contingent of men have arrived... And members of the Ling clan have followed them!"

For a moment I was wondering why Keqing stiffened but then I remembered. 'Oh shit... The Ling clan is the one I got into super big trouble for selling garbage scrap swords and spears to Liyue's Millelith'

The martial artists who worked for Ningguang went over to Keqing to report their arrival but behind them was a contingent of about twenty Ling clan martial artists... Or even cultivators with how they were looking down their noses at myself and Keqing. As I remembered how Keqing talked about how the Ling clan sent all their skilled smiths off to the Sects to enrich themselves and become more powerful.

"Lady Yuheng, we have arrived while bringing specialized materials that been ordered to be brought." He said and waving his hand a pile of materials were seemingly teleported onto the ground. 'Space Ring!' I thought with my lips twitching seeing the ring on the hand he waved that had a gem with a swirling void inlaid upon it.

Keqing nodded and thanked the man for his hard work but there was no hiding her tension as she nodded to the leader of Ningguang's section of workers me and the man didn't even blink as he walked over towards me and turned his back to me so he could focus on the Ling clan while the other men surrounded me as well.

"Why have you come heir of the Ling clan?" Keqing demanded imperiously as she folded her arms over her chest.

The leader of the young men and a couple of women of the Ling clan stepped forward and I wanted to just go hide in my cabin as only one thought registered within my mind. 'Oh shit... It's a young master. I am probably going to kill my first person today knowing my luck.'
