Trusting his friend's instincts

With the level of danger increasing as they go deep into the forest, Park Sun-jae realised that they have to take preventive measures so that Kim Jae-hoon leaves the place safely and unscathed. After experiencing the strength of low-level monsters like those tiny plants from yesterday, Kim Jae-hoon had also became more vary of his surroundings and the dangers lurking around them.

They both feared that high-level monsters would be more fierce and ruthless compared to them. It would be extremely difficult for an ordinary person like Kim Jae-hoon to handle them alone and he might lose his life before he knows what hit him.

Therefore, in order to increase the chances of his survival, Park Sun-jae explored the forest at night and found items that might be helpful for the young man in fighting against tough monsters he might face in the future.

"You see… Since these flowers are not lethal to us but those monsters, why don't we use that to our advantage?" Park Sun-jae said cheerfully to the young man.

"You mean to say kill them using the fragrance of the flower?" he asked with a curious gaze as the young man was still unaware about how these flowers are gonna work on these monsters.

"Not kill. A dozen flowers are not enough to kill a monster of that high calibre."

"Then!?"

The ghost clicked his tongue and replied calmly. "Just collect some of these flowers and let's go to our next place. I'll explain the details to you later."

Upon hearing those words, Kim Jae-hoon tilted his head sideways in confusion. "Next place? Aren't we going back after we collect them?"

Answering so many questions in a row to his friend made the ghost a little bit dizzy and he wanted to take a break from it. However, his buddy was not letting him to do that.

"Just follow my lead and do as I say. You'll thank me later for this. I guarantee you." He said annoyingly.

Kim Jae-hoon was clueless about his partner's actions and hearing him say those words made him realise that his friend was not ready to clear his doubts. In addition, Park Sun-jae was more knowledgeable about the forest than him. So, he just trusted his friend's instincts and obeyed his instructions.

Firstly, the young man plucked out a leaf from a tree which had a length of an average hand's size and spread it on the ground like a mat. Afterwards, he started collecting all three types of the flowers in it and when gathered enough amount of it, he enclosed all sides of the leaf and packed it using a thin plant fibre as an alternative for a thread to tie it up.

Soon, the young man was done with his task and they both headed somewhere else with Park Sun-jae in the lead and Kim Jae-hoon following him from behind.

Sometime later, they entered a strange place filled with gigantic plants rooted to the ground which were moving their heads and had a mouth inside their petals. But the most interesting part about them was that these flowers were shooting fire and water out of their mouths every time before they close their mouths again.

Kim Jae-hoon was astonished upon seeing a spectacle like this. "What is this place…?"

He watched the surroundings in a daze as he walked around with an awe expression on his face the entire time.

"This place is called Mist Garden. It's a place where these types of plants grow. The ones who are breathing fire out of their mouths are Flamingo Plants and the ones who are shooting water out of their mouths are Hydro Plants." Park Sun-jae replied.

"Why did you bring me here though?"

He smiled. "We're going to bring one of the flamingo plants back home."

"Are you crazy!?" Kim Jae-hoon exclaimed. "These things are breathing fire out of their freaking mouths. And you want us to cut one of these gigantic plants? Have you lost your mind? No matter how you look at it, these things look dangerous."

"That's exactly why we're going to bring one of these with us and make use of it."

The young man raised his eyebrows. "How so?"

"They have a special orb inside their mouths that makes them shoot fire out of their mouths. We're going to pull that thing out of its body and use it to make an explosive out of it." The ghost viciously smiled like a villain.

"Even so, we don't have any safety equipment to pull out the orb. What if it explodes while we try to cut it out of the plant's body?" He said in a concerning tone.

"Don't worry! When we kill the plant, it won't explode as long as it doesn't come in contact with any friction of spark or a fire itself."

Kim Jae-hoon widened his eyes. "Don't tell me…"

"Yes, you have to kill the plant and bring it out of this place while dodging all the fire attacks from the other plants so that it won't explode. Obviously, you can't fight back once you slashed the plant."

"You cruel bastard. You're basically requesting me to do the impossible."

"It's all up to you. If you don't want to do it, I can't do anything about it. However, your chances of survival in this wilderness will decrease for sure and I can't guarantee your safety if you encounter any high-level monsters during to journey." Park Sun-jae shrugged.

Although the task that his friend gave him was a difficult one, he was still right. Soon, he might have to face a stronger monster that he can't defeat or escape from based on his current abilities. Therefore, it was wise to get help from the nature and make some lethal weapons out of it.

Kim Jae-hoon sighed. "Fine. I'll try my best. But don't get your hopes up. I never cut a thick plant like that before. I might fail too."

"I know but it only looks thick and easy to cut. You just need to be careful of its tentacle-like stems that can stretch up to 6 metres long to attack you." Park Sun-jae warned.

The young man nodded as he pulled out his spears from the back and swung a few times in the air as a warm up exercise before the real battle begins.
