"Well, I should return to train" Mo Fan thought as he slowly got up "I'll show you, Qing'er, that I'll reach the martial peak! And then we'll see who will laugh who!"
...
After losing, Mo Fan put himself under a strict training for two days straight. He wanted to teach a lesson to that arrogant brat of his sister.
He quickly developed everyone of the White Crane Arts' sub skills, including its spear arts, to near complete mastery level.
How could he reach such a degree of mastery in just two days? Well, that's because his talent for martial arts is actually heaven defying, just like his mother, and so he had learned since he was born martial skills really quickly. For example when he first entered the sect he completely mastered the Long Fist and the Whip Kick, which are the basic techniques of the High Heaven Pavilion, in a matter of seconds.
"White Crane Arts: White Flying Javelin!" Mo Fan said, as he threw a spear, that he had made on his own since he was a blacksmith, towards the same tree he had previously crashed into. The spear twirled as it flew towards its target and when it hit it, it remained stucked so he had to go and retrieve it before returning to training.
"White Crane Arts: White Spear Thrust!" Now, the gold haired guy brought the metal spear forward, trusting with all the strength he had at the air. As soon as all of his muscles moved to performe a movement, he suddendly started feeling a warm energy filling his dantian.
"Am I about to have a breakthrough? Finally! After-" Mo Fan was saying, before the warmth intensened even more. It lasted just a while before completely disappearing, but not without leaving significant results: the gold haired boy could feel that every fiber of his body had got stronger.
He finally made a breaktrough and entered the 4th Stage Tempered body.
"Yes! I finally made a breaktrough after one year of-" Mo Fan was saying all excited, before he started vomiting, a black disgusting goomy thing coming out of his mouth. Soon this finished as not a lot of it came out from the gold haired kid's mouth.
"I nearly forgot that after every breaktrough in the Tempered Body realm the body releases a part of their impurities..." he began as he looked at his impurities "Well, I haven't had a breakthrough for a long time now, so it's reasonable"
"More importantly, I finally reached the 4th Tempered Body Stage after a year of suffering" Mo Fan said, as he clenched his fist "I have to flex this to Yang Kai"
"I wonder what his reaction will be, hehehe"
...
At Yang Kai's hut, sunset
"Pant...pant..." a boy with blue hair panted as sweat covered all of his body. He was practicing some kind of strange martial skill "Those Six Palms Arts are really awesome"
"In just two days, i broke trough the 4th stage Tempered Body and now i'm on the verge of reaching the 5th-" the guy was saying, before a really familiar voice interrupted him.
"Yang Kai!" A gold haired kid yelled as he ran towards the blue haired kid "I have a spectacular notice"
"Shoot" Yang Kai said without interest as he was already used to Mo Fan flexing his status as a Special Disciple and so he wasn't expecting anything else other than that.
"I finally reached the 4th Stage Tempered Body!" Mo Fan exclaimed with clear excitement. He was dying to see Yang Kai's reaction, even though he knew he wouldn't get jealous since that was just his character.
"Well, happy for you" and, as expected, when Yang Kai responded not an ounce of jealousy was present in his voice. "And, by the way, i almost broke trought the 5th Stage Tempered Body"
"What? How's that possible? Weren't we at the same realm only a week ago? How could have you reach this level so quickly?" Mo Fan was startled by Yang Kai's words.
"Hehe, yes" Yang Kai chuckled proud of himself. His nose could be seen growing.
"Then, since we are both at the 4th Stage, do you wanna spar to see who's stronger now?" Mo Fan suggested, eager to see just how much did his best friend get stronger.
"I'd love to, but..." Yang Kai began as he scratched his head "I just applied for a three days leave to go to the outskirts of the Black Wind Forests to gather some herbs I need, so..."
"Ah, no problem" Mo Fan said as he smiled "Then we'll spar when you'll return from this little trip of yours"
"Actually, do you want to come with me?" Yang Kai proposed to the gold haired kid "A little bit of company won't certainly kill me"
"Sorry, but I gotta go training" Mo Fan replied, as he rubbed his blonde hair "I have to train hard or at the rate which you are improving, i won't be able to keep up with you, bro"
"So, see you in three days"
"See you, bro"
And after giving a five to each other, they went into opposite directions.
...
At Mo Fan's wooden little house.
"I should begin training again, but I can't since my realm needs to stabilize first"
"So, I think I'll read some of the books that old maniac forced me to bring home in the meantime" Mo Fan said, as he casually took a book from the box that librarian Zhu gave him. What his hand caught was, as if fate wanted, just the book recomended for him by that old fart: The journey of the lone cultivator.
After taking it, he sat near the counter of his workshop and opened it, begining to read the first page. He quickly finished the first chapter and, just like that old maniac said, he was immediately immersed in it as he couldn't help himself, but continue reading.
...to be continued
