Ch 9: Choosing techniques

The members of the yang clan were going through their daily routine welcoming the new day and cultivators practicing to surpass their yesterday selves. Outside the yang clan technique hall we see a boy that looked to be about the height of an 8 years old kid.

The boy had hair so black that it seemed to take in all the light around it, his face has quite low babyfats that gave him a handsome and near angular face, his eyes were the same color of his hair but some red and golden star shaped dots would occasionally be seen in them, his body had little to no extra fats, his arms were a bit muscular and his shoulder's broad, he had what people would know as a near perfect athletic body. The boy was wearing a black set of robes that enhanced his already stricking eyes and hair.

{A-Note: he has a bit more mature frame because of his cultivation.(Current age 5 years, 7 months)}

He was none other than yang feng who came here to get the martial arts techniques he will be using. He looked at the five layered building in front of him. The first layer where common grade techniques were kept was available to all cultivators of the family, the second layer that had Earth grade techniques was also available to all the members but only those who payed the contribution points set by the family could enter.

The third layer with heaven rank techniques were for the members of the main line or to those who contribute to the clan. The fourth layer housing mysterious rank techniques was available to only the elders of the clan.As for the last layer that was said to hold spirit grade techniques was only for the patriarch to enter.

As he entered the hall he was greeted by a sight similar to a library. He walked to the only desk situated near the enterence of the hall and showed the elder sitting on the desk the token his father had given to him.

The elder at first did not pay him any attention as nearly all the clan members can enter the first floor. But as yang feng showed him the token, he was slightly shocked because the token meant that yang feng could choose any three techniques from the third floor. It was common knowledge that people could only start practicing martial arts techniques at the initial element realm. So that means that yang feng was at least at the first stage of the said realm.

The shock was because he knew who yang feng was and also that his age would only be 6 years at most. As for him entering the third floor, yang feng was acknowledged as the 9th young master of the yang clan, so even if someone had a problem with that has to keep it to himself.

The elder made a mental note to tell the others about it. As such a genius was worth nurturing. The elder gave the token back to him and said," remember only three techniques and only from the third floor." To which yang feng replied with,"yes, elder."

Yang feng did not stay on the first and second floor but went directly to the third floor. As he entered the third floor noted that the size of the library on this floor was less than the first two.

He moved to the shelf that was close to him which was in the attack techniques section and picked up the first technique in the first rack of the shelf. It was a saber technique named 'moonlight saber' technique. After skimming through it yang feng deemed it useless for himself and reached for the next one.

Yang feng kept going through one scroll/book to another yet not finding any technique suitable for himself. When he was halfway through, he saw a scroll that said 'Overlord Fist technique' which as the name suggests is a fist technique.

After a little thought, he chose this technique because after his physique's partial awakening his bodily strength increased by 3 times. So the technique would be able to exhibit 3 times the power it would for someone else with the same level of cultivation as him.

He then moved to the 'movement technique' section and from there he chose the 'wind flickering technique' that allows the user to be as fast and silent as the wind.

After that he chose the 'eight trigram body shifting technique' as his defense technique. This technique is not completely a defense technique as this does not block the attack instead it redirects it and with enough control can even return the attack back on the said attacker.

When he was done with the selection he left the hall, after the elders verification, and returned to his usual place of practice.

After some adjustments he thought,' let's get started.' and started practicing the martial arts techniques.
