Awakening II

Rolling over, I stretch my entire body before relaxing again. My body feels fully rested and I'm surprisingly relaxed considering the situation.

Rubbing my eyes and climb out of the simple wooden bed, I pat down the quilt before folding it neatly.

While stretching my legs, I take my time to look around the room. As expected its really simple, just a desk on the furthest wall, paper and pens scattered around it.

Next to the desk is an old wooden shelf that sits a dozen books containing history, geography, literature and foundational martial arts and the scholarly foundations.

The world really is weird in a technological sense, the majority of the country is medieval but they can mass produce pens and books.

Fire Arms like a musket and revolvers are common but they are fuelled with gunpowder, no automatic or high grade weapons can be found.

Cultivators and the army primarily use cold weapons, but cannons are use frequently for warfare.

Which makes sense, a martial artist realm cultivator from my memories have such reflexes and speed that they can see the bullet trajectory from keeping an eye on the barrel of the gun, avoiding the bullets and appear in front of you before you realise it.

The textile industry is advanced, with silk, cotton, linen, denim widespread but the majority of people still use robes.

The reason its a mix and match of technology is because not every one can get an education, and for those who do don't waste time studying science and maths past a certain point.

They instead concentrate on martial arts to make themselves stronger, who would waste time on anything else? you only have a limited lifespan.

Well, there is one more subject which is just as if not more important than martial arts. Its the research on arrays, there exists an occupation called Array masters.

I don't have much knowledge on arrays but I do know array masters use runes to create arrays which can be arranged together to give them physical properties.

Depending on how you arrange the runes you can create barriers which prevent people from entering/exiting a location. They can also be used to record and play images/sounds.

After having stretched, I go to the bathroom and see the bathtub. Walking to the taps I turn one of them on before water begins spewing out.

"Truly strange" I'm glad I live in the east district, even though Its an old house Its actually connected to the empires water Array system.

That's right, the empire has covered certain parts of its cities with an underground formation that transports water from the nearby river. Otherwise if you wanted to bathe you would have to manually fetch water from the river which is exhausting.

Soon the bath fills, I spend 15minutes cleaning myself with soap. The dried blood is finally removed, I dry myself and my hair with a towel.

Getting dressed, I wear a white robe before eating a slice of bread with cheese, the bread is a bit stale and the cheese gooey but I'm starving.

Having eaten my full, I go back up into my bedroom and take the newly purchased book, the scholarly foundations off the shelf and flip to the first page.

"The scholar exam is in two days, if I manage to pass it?" grinning, I cant help but let my imagination run wild.

"I have plenty of advanced knowledge from earth, I should pass with flying colours, wait.." I cant use my knowledge otherwise it could get dangerous.

Due to inheriting this hosts memories, I understand the language just as if I was a native myself.

I begin reading and stop after five pages and realise none of the contents in this scholar book align with knowledge from earth besides some maths and science

I even forgot the contents on the first page.

"If it goes on like this, its impossible for me to pass the exam just by using mine and the ex-hosts memories"

"I cant give up just yet or I'll be in trouble if I don't pass the test" I cant use earths knowledge as If I were to release some knowledge from earth which I shouldn't have.

It could bring some people with bad intentions and I'll be in serious trouble.

Reading the first page again, I concentrate and my only thought is to remember the contents of the page.

As if answering my call, a mysterious force appears from deep within my mind, it creates a blue interface in front of my eyes.

"Eh?" stunned I blink a few times and the interface is still there, bringing my hand forward I try touching it but it goes straight through.

"Wait.. This interface seems familiar" holding in my excitement I call out to it.

"System are you there?" waiting, I get embarrassed after receiving no answer.

"I'm sure this is the system interface from the A.I chip" Although I've not used the A.I chip itself, I've seen the promotional video and recall what it looks like.

"I'll have to do a test" Recalling the instructions, I understand you must ask the system to record information for you but it seems like my interface is different and doesn't contain any A.I system to do tasks for me.

Concentrating on the book, I make a thought to copy the image and save it. Shortly after that thought, the knowledge on the books first page appears within my mind.

I can freely recall it at will.

"It worked" excited, I copy the rest of the books contents. It takes around a minute to remember all 250 pages thoroughly.

"But this is just one book of a number you need to study to become a scholar" sighing, I shake my head and save the remaining 20 books that are on the shelf into my mind.

"There should be other functions right?" There should also be simulation, scanning and calculation functions.

"System, calculate 23497 x 22.567" Still no response from any sort of system.

I try calculating the equation myself and surprisingly I find the answer instantly.

"530256.799"

"No way!" shocked, I cant help but put on a grin.

"No wait!, The A.I chip didn't come along with me? but instead It unlocked something within my mind after exploding, while I'm subconsciously using the system interface as a prelude to use the abilities of my new talent.

"I figured it out that easily?" My brain itself got an upgrade, due to its complicated process I'm simplifying it so its convenient for me to use.
