Chapter 64: Fault Lines
Liam stormed into his office, fuming with rage. Alex noticed his friend's distressed demeanor and quickly followed him inside, bracing himself for an onslaught.
"Can you explain the ridiculous, idiotic stunt you pulled?" Liam spat out as soon as Alex entered, venom dripping from his words.
Alex stood dumbfounded, completely baffled by Liam's outburst. "I don't know what you're talking about. What's gotten into you?"
"Don't play dumb with me!" Liam's voice rose to a shout. "You know exactly what I'm referring to. Is this what you meant when you said you had it all figured out? Was posting that disastrous nonsense online part of your brilliant master plan? I thought you said your mind is in this game?"
Liam's face was flushed with fury, the veins in his neck straining against his skin. Alex had seen his friend and business partner angry plenty of times before, but there was an intensity burning in his eyes now that was unnerving.
