Her world collapsed

Time passed right in a blink.

Even after four years of dating, Zane Kingston still had not considered about their future. Upsetting Vera wholly.

After two years passed, he became distant.

Puzzling Vera entirely. He began to tell her it's busy to meet with her during the time. Blaming on training from his uncle as usual.

Not like before when he used to cancel every plan for her. And now he did not show up for a whole month.

Excusing himself with busy schedule.

However one night, Vera stood by the glass wall with a wine bottle in her grasp. Heavy rain from outside distressed her.

She stared out of the glass wall. Her eyes were on the Ferrari car which stopped under the condo. He finally came to her.

Instead of taking out an umbrella, he just ran into the condo under heavy rain. It showed how much he required to encounter her.

Yet, it did not gratify her at all.

How could she feel delight when he disappeared for a whole month without contacting her?

He disappointed her. Like a lot.

As the doorbell rang, Vera placed the bottle down on the table.

Walking near to the door in her pajama set. Brain was ceasing her from opening the door while heart was letting her do whatever she required.

Vera made a quick decision. Choosing heart over brain. She inhaled a deep breath before unlocking the door to yell in his face for vanishing from her sight.

As the door unlatched, the sight of the man soaking wet due to heavy rain appeared.

"WHAT-"

Before Vera could even utter another word, a strong grip clasped her arm. Pulling her to front as he embraced her tightly in silence.

The sudden action surprised the woman totally. An odor of alcohol permeated into her nose. Bringing up a frown on her face. "You are drunk!"

She broke the hug to scold him but stopped instantly when she witnessed his runny nose. He shed tears. He was in excruciating silence.

"What... What happened? What made you cry?" Vera's hands began to tremble. Cupping his cheeks as she wiped away his tears.

What made an encouraging man like him to sob? A question crossed her mind as she panicked. "Come inside to get warmth" she dragged him into her room.

Making him sit down beside her on the sofa. A huge silence hung in the air. "Tell me.. I will listen to your every problem"

Vera intertwined their fingers.

Holding his hand tightly as she quietly waited for him to open up. "I am sorry" Zane spoke out loud at last. His voice cold. It did not sound sorry at all.

Like a plain hard bread.

A sudden apology from Zane puzzled the woman completely. Her brows wrinkled in perplexity. Observing her boyfriend who kept mumbling things.

"Why? What's the reason behind your plain apology?" Vera responded. Shaking his hand to push him to say out loud the truth.

"I am getting married in two months" he disclosed, coldly.

The words felt like a lightning strike on her in the hot summer. Shocking her wholly.

"What... what does that bullshit mean?" Her eyes commenced to quiver in disbelief. "What does that mean?!" She queried, raising her voice a bit.

"I am sorry" Again, he apologized plainly.

Vera jumped up from the sofa in impatience. Eyes flickering under the light. Fists trembling in irritation.

"What the heck do you mean with that?! Tell me this is a prank! There is no way you would marry others, right?! You said you love me! So confirm this is all a set up prank!"

Vera yelled out loud in exasperation. Not believing the situation. There's no way this was real. He would never do this, right?

Zane looked up at his girlfriend who was shuddering in disbelief. She was in terror obviously. As if the world had come to its end.

He inhaled a deep breath to divulge like taking courage to admit the truth. "I am being serious, Vera" he stated.

"I am certain you noticed how I became distant with you. In fact, I already have a fiance to marry. But I didn't like her at first so I began to find someone who could make me feel like I was home. And I met you. I fell for you instantly at the first sight. However, after three years I found out I have lost my feelings for you and grew interest in my fiance. So let's end this relationship"

Zane continued.

"What the fuck do you mean with you already have a fiance?!" Vera shouted. Hushing down the man for some seconds.

"I have a woman to love from the very beginning. We were engaged before this relationship commenced"

Zane revealed as silence covered. No words came up from the woman. She just stared at him with tears building up in her eyes non stop.

Lips began to tremble in irritation.

Only word to describe the feeling was pain. That's the definition of her tears. The words from her boyfriend were like a dagger piercing through her heart.

"Are you kidding me?! I begged you to engage with me and reveal our relationship from the start! But you kept refusing! Turned out you have a fiance already!"

Vera yelped. Sobbing in sorrow.

Zane did not say anything. Remaining silent while observing her crying out loud.

When the man did not utter any sound, Vera added up.

"You didn't show up for a whole month just because you are interested in your fiance now?! Why didn't you discuss about that with me?! You should have reveal the truth and end this relationship years ago! Yet, you never informed me about these! Now go break that engagement off! I do not care!!"

Vera pointed her finger at her boyfriend.

"I can't!! I want to marry her only!!" Zane jumped up from the couch and shouted back harshly.

Startling the woman wholly. "YOU!" Horrified by the fact that he just yelled in her face for the first time in her life because of another woman. It shocked her entirely.

Even she could not believe the reality which was cruel. "Then you have two options! Me or that woman?!" She gave a chance.

Hoping he would hug her and choose her over every single thing existed on the world. However, Zane walked past her with tedious expression. Leaving her in shock.

"No!" Vera shouted as she grasped his arm. Pulling him back and facing him in tears.

"Are you actually going to marry another woman?! Just because you lost feelings for me?! Are you fucking kidding me?! You are a loser! How could you leave me behind?! Have you ever consider of our marriage though?! You didn't, right?! You never loved me!!"

Her voice cracked in agony.

Biting her lower lip slightly to hold back the tears in front of this man.

"No, I loved you. But I lost all the feelings without any reason after spending three years with you. To be honest, I just only used my busy schedule as an excuse. I was the one who didn't want to meet you anymore. I require to get married with her. I can't imagine my future with you, Vera. So I have to marry her even if it is arranged or not. I don't want to be with you anymore"

It was the moment, Vera could hear her heart shattering into pieces.

Did her ears trip? Or he actually said that shit?!

Her teal blue eyes formed hot tears as they rolled down on her cheeks non stop.

She stared at him in disbelief. Not even finding enough energy to speak up. Felt as if her world had fallen apart.

There was a silence hanging in the air for some seconds. "No..." Vera squeezed her eyes. Shaking her head in disapproval while pressing lips tightly.

"You are lying. You are dissembling"

She muttered. Denying to accept the reality which was grinding. There was no way it's feasible. This couldn't be true.

"No, it is a truth. You have to face it, Vera Charlene. I have lost all my feelings for you. And I am going to marry my fiance in two months. The relationship between us has ended. We are nothing but strangers with memories from now on"

Zane affirmed, heartlessly.

"You fucking jerk! You just toyed with me!! Why would you do that?! You should have just told me if you can't see your future with me!! You should have said you already have a fiance!! So that I could have moved on from the very beginning! You purposely chose to hurt me! You just like to see me suffering!!"

With blazing eyes, she clenched her jaw in indignation. Hitting his arm harshly while shedding tears.

No word came up from the man. Just staring down at the woman crying her heart out. There was not even a hint of guilt could be found in his eyes as if he never loved her.

They were dull. Looked bored.

If only she stared into his eyes for a second at the moment, she would know he actually lost the feelings.

If only he looked at her in many possible ways at the moment, he would fall for her still and regrow the lost feelings.

Zane's hand rose. Shoving the woman's grasp away, heartlessly. He headed towards the door with light steps.

But was ceased by the yell.

"I will give you another chance, Zane Kingston! Choose wisely! Me or that woman?! Consider!! Do you actually require to throw me away for another woman you are just interested in?!"

Vera shouted. He turned around but with lifeless gaze. Revealing how much he had lost all the love.

The woman observed his tedious eyes looking down at her. Discovering the truth of his words in those dull eyes.

"I have to choose her" he declared. "You can't!! You have already promised me!!"

She yelped. "It was all a lie. I want her only" like that he left the room. Slamming the door and walking away from her life simply.

Vera fell onto her knees. Squeezing her eyes in agony. "How could you.. how could you do this to me, Zane Kingston?" She sobbed.

Hitting the marble floor with her fists harshly. She could not even bother about damaging her pretty fingers at the moment.

"I will fucking make you feel guilty! I will make you shed tears for leaving me! I will make you regret! How dare you toy with me?!"

Vera vowed. Gritting her teeth as she continued hitting the floor with fists. Not even caring the fact that her fingers commenced to bleed from the harsh marble floor.

It was the night, the night where Vera's heart broke into pieces from the truth.

Her world collapsed.
