Chapter 4: Double Trouble

The reverberating sound of the church' bell woke everyone up on a beautiful Sunday morning. There's no work for Dawn to do so she decided to give herself some time to sleep. For the past few days, her overthinking stole all her nights to sleep and rest, making her agitated.

Questions kept flooding her restless mind.

'Why did I agree?'

'What will happen to me now?'

'Is it really true that I'll marry that Monochrome Prince?'

'What shall I do?'

'I'm going to be married now?'

'Huhuhu! Goodbye single life'

'Why did I even agree? Why?'

'This is killing me'

'But for my safety and the truth, I'll do this!'

Her mind kept working like a rusty engine. She kept searching for answers but her senses are there, stiff and dull. Out of frustrations, she decided to spend the whole day sleeping.

But as she was getting ready to sleep, someone knocked on her door.

"Am I expecting visitors?" she muttered while having a confused look.

She fixed herself, straightening the creases on her clothes just to make herself look decent. She undid the lock and opened the door.

"Yes, how can I---" Dawn trailed off. Her eyes widened in surprise. She stood there, frozen unable to process the person who is currently standing infront of her apartment, in front of her.

"What a nice bed hair." the person said with the usual smirk plastered on his face.

Dawn's eyebrows furrowed as she touched her hair. She shot an embarrassed glance at Livius II after realizing that.

"O-oh, you're here! D-Do you have some business with me, because you came here personally." Dawn asked stuttering. Still embarrassed by the latter's remark. She did her best not to meet his eyes.

She didn't get any response so she looked up and found Livius nowhere in front of her. She turned around looking for him, and there he was—exploring her apartment.

"What do I expect?" she whispered and rolled her eyes as she entered her apartment shutting the door behind.

"I believe that you are trespassing mister. I'll be calling the police if you won't leave this instant." Dawn said, trying to sound brave and threatening.

Livius stopped for a second and continue studying her apartment and even running his fingers on her things.

Dawn couldn't take it anymore, she couldn't stand his annoying aura and rude attitude. "I'll call the police." she said as she tried getting the phone in her pocket.

Her phone wasn't there. She fumbled in her coffee table for her phone but still failed to find it.

"Where could it be?" she asked herself.

"Looking for this?"

She looked at Livius and was shocked to see Livius swinging her phone in his hand.

"How did you---"

"I know you're going to call the police so I took it from your pocket." he cut her on mid-sentence without even without even looking at her.

How did he do it? Dawn asked in her mind. She realized she had been gaping at Livius. She cursed inside.

I didn't even feel something touched my pocket!

This man is dangerous.

She stepped back and prepared herself for anything that Livius might do.

"Why are you here?" Dawn asked cautiously. Because it's just so confusing and surprising.

Livius' manners were getting suspicious. It was completely unbelievable for such a rich and powerful man visit my shabby apartment. Unless he had bad intentions, she thought.

Livius turned back to face her again and stared her most intently. For seconds, silence enveloped the room. Dawn patiently waited for the answer. And her eyes were questioning trying to find the answers in his deep set of eyes.Livius opened his mouth and said, "I'm here to pay my future wife a little visit," without breaking their eye contact.

They stood there in dead silence. Dawn can't process what Livius had just said. After a moment of thinking, it dawned on her what he actually said.

"You accepted it?" Dawn gasped, more of a statement than a question.

Livius just give her a cold shoulder. In a matter of seconds, Dawn just realized that Livius is in front of her. "W-What do you want?" asked the surprised Dawn.

Livius stooped a little and lowered his head to level Dawn's eyes. His face is so close thay she could almost point out every angle of his handsome face. She can even smell the mint from his slightly gaped mouth. The sudden gesture brought a blush to her cheeks. She immediately looked away and took a step back. But as she did that, Livius also took a step closer, locking eyes with her. She stepped back again, one, two, three. But Livius still followed. Dawn began to feel anxious of what Livius might do to her. With ragged and heavy breathing, she did her best to look away from him.

She groaned as she felt her back hit the wall. She looked sideways, it's her only way of escape. But as she tried to take a step, a pair of arms locked her in place.

She's being cornered.

Damn! Why am I in this situation? Dawn irritatingly scowled in her mind.

Livius leaned closer to her, lessening the distance more. Theh were only an inch apart. A sudden move would make their lips touch.

move a little closer to the scared Dawn and now, their faces are so close and inches away from each other.

Wait, is he... He is going to kiss me!

Her mind is in hysteria, her sense of judgment in haywire. Her eyes involuntarily closed as she waited for him to claim her lips. But a couple of seconds had passed, nothing happened. She opened her eyes in an instant only to find Livius smirking at her.

"You thought I was going to kiss you? Dream on." Livius smirked and looked at her mockingly.

Resentment, anger and shame all came at once. And as if on queue, she kicked Livius hard, right on his balls.

"That's for making fun of me!" Dawn shouted at him, now groaning in pain. She got her bag and keys and decided to get out of this place because of embarrassment.

She got out and slammed the door leaving poor Livius inside her apartment.

Dawn got on her car and drove off.

"That man is really getting on my nerves!" Dawn shouted in her car, while waiting for the traffic kight to turn green.

"Why did I even agreed to marry that horrible man?Aarrrgghh!" she messed her hair out of frustration as she slammed her fists on the steering wheel.

The people who were close to her car were looking at her. She must have shouted too loud. Lucky enough, the green light turned on, saving her from the embarrassment.

In a minute or two, she reached her favorite place, the cafe.

She ordered a Cappuccino and a slice of Blueberry Cake and headed to her favorite spot in this cafe, in the second floor, near the window.

She laid her bag, leaned her back against the chair and closed her eyes for a moment to calm herself. Even with eyes closed, she could still feel the relaxing and peaceful scenery around. The place really makes her feel more relaxed and calmer than usual.

She was about to drink her Cappuccino when someone sat infront of her. Her eyebrows furrowed when she realized that it's the rude stranger she met constantly on the day when she agreed to Mr. Woods' proposal.

"You again?" she scowled.

She didn't get any response making her blood boil again. She was about to stand up when she heard a familiar voice.

"You manage to keep an eye on her, good."

She looked at that person and was dumbfounded to see that it was Livius. "You two knew each other?" Dawn asked while pointing at the two of them.

She didn't got any response from him because he turned a deaf ear and he sat next to the rude guy. The corners of the rude man's mouth curved slight upward. It was the first time Dawn had seen the rude guy smile.

"I'm Arthur, Livius' bestbud." he introduced himself.

Wait, BESTBUD?????

For a moment, Dawn thought she would ran out of breath. These two guys whom she dislikes the most, are bestfriends?

There's trouble a brewin' , Dawn thought as she looked at the two in fear.
