Kalan got out of the car, waited for Elektra to arrive at his side then restrained the woman's steps that seemed to be aiming straight for the entrance of the building.

He removed the woman's bangs from her forehead, gave a brief kiss there and then smoothed it back to the way it was.

"Get in there. I'll pick you up tonight. Okay?"

"Ng?" muttered Elektra unfocused, as if losing orientation. The woman nodded carelessly, whether she caught Kalan's words or was just doing this to escape as soon as possible.

Kalan leaned against the car door, watching Elektra walk away with staggering steps, chuckling a little when he saw the woman shaking her head vigorously.

He nodded as some of the new employees greeted him, took the communicator out of his trouser pocket, shrunk the device down to the size of a headset, put it in his ear and heard a dull dial tone for two seconds until he finally picked up the phone.
