Aiden obviously did not notice Nathalia's weird reaction because he went on expressing his point.

He even scoffed when he thought that Nathalia was trying to play ignorant to what he really meant.

"Oh, c'mon we both know you have a shenanigan or two under your sleeves! It should just be as easy as a piece of cake for you to let Miguel finally see Samara."

He knew well enough how the other party was capable of doing that.

After all, he had experienced it first hand.

But it was apparent that the Queen of Darkness has zero intention of helping the high school lovers reunite.

She said with a slight crease on her forehead as if Aiden was actually putting her on a hard situation.

"Why not?? You did it to me already. So what could possibly go wrong if you would going to do it again this time? You blew on my eyes before and let me see dead people against my will. But why can't you do the same thing to Miguel so he could see Samara? He would surely appreciate this kind of ability that you gave me more than I do."

Aiden could not understand why Nathalia was making things hard for all of them.

She could just simply do her thing and let the ghost resolved her unfinished business.

So they could finally get it all done!

Nathalia tried to speak reason to her fated husband, but Aiden took her words the other way.

"Oh?? Is that so? Then why was that you felt entitled to do that to be me anyways?? Let me remind you then that you never asked for my consent before doing it to me, by the way. Just so you know, lest you forgot."

Aiden rebuked with a bitter expression.

So all of a sudden, the situation shifted its focus from the former forlorn lovers to this whole 'getting married to the Queen of Darkness' fiasco

"But you were different, okay? You are not like any other, Aiden. Don't compare yourself to them because they won't come as close to what you are to me. You are my fated husband. We will stay beside each other, together forever. And I swear to protect you by all means."

Nathalia said with all sincerity that she could muster but her eyes that she used to stare at Aiden said it way much better.

And as expected, Aiden got swiftly drowned again to those pair of silver pool eyes.

It was obvious that her effort and sincerity did not go to naught.

Because right at that moment, Aiden was somehow tongue-tied.

To the point that his brain seemed to stop functioning for a split second and he just stood there as stiffed as a statue.

Even after Nathalia reached out to hold his hand, Aiden still remained unmoved.

He must have been flustered when he was suddenly faced with Nathalia's unexpected heartfelt confession.

In fact, it would be a lie if Aiden would say that he was not touched for the very least.

After all, it was not as if he used to hear such kind of romantic confession on a daily basis before.

Not to mention that it was a kind of confession made by such a regal and beautiful woman like the Queen of Darkness, Nathalia Watson.

"Ehem..."

Caught in between the little drama between a husband and wife having a 'lovers quarrel turned romantic' kind of thing, the grim reaper felt quite out of place.

So after noticing the awkward silence that followed afterward, Jace who was forced to eat dog food on the side decided to clear his throat at that crucial moment.

These lovers should have at least shown a little mercy to poor single souls, like Jace.
