"It was indeed dangerous if, by some stroke of luck that the wandering soul happened to be still alive somewhere. Because they might be at the risk of dying the more they stay outside their body. But when it comes to the wandering souls who were not yet aware that they are already dead, they were not at the risk of turning into baleful specters yet. Because they won't have any reason to resent the living since they don't have any recollection of dying in the first place. And one more thing is that, as long as one did not try to talk to them, wandering souls would not be able to get a connection to a living person."

"Connection? What do you mean they would be able to establish a  connection with the living???!"

For some reason, bids of sweat started to appear again on Aiden's forehead when he heard that part of Nathalia's explanation.

His gut feeling was telling him that the answer that he would get from Nathalia was not something that he would like.

Which was spot on!

"It means that once a living person started to communicate with a wandering soul, then they would be able to attach themselves to the person who talked to them first. Originally, wandering souls had no means to do any harm to anyone as long as they were left alone. Since it was like they were only bound to exist to a parallel space in the mortal realm. It was only when one opens a chance for them to connect to the world of the living would they be able to pester someone."

"Is that so?????" 

That was all Aiden managed to say before his face started to twitch uncontrollably.

His facial expression could not help but grimace due to the overwhelming realization that had struck him squarely.

Just how awful could his luck could get???

At situations such as that Aiden was always left pondering over whether it was indeed a fact that he was born unlucky.

No one could blame him for thinking that way, anyway.

Because it was as though when heaven poured the bad luck in the world, Aiden was very active at that same time as well and he even received all of them with open arms!

"Are you okay, Aiden???"

Nathalia asked her husband out of concern after noticing that something seemed weird in Aiden's expression.

But instead of answering her question, Aiden only gave Nathalia another question as a reply.

"What would happen if a wandering soul got attached to a living person. What can I do to escape her???"

"Hmmm... Well, there is no easy way to get rid of a wandering soul once it got attached to you. They would be likely to live off you, just like a parasite. They would suck all the energy out of their prey which may lead to the health deterioration of its victim. The only way to end it was to either help them get to their afterlife or get them back to their physical body."

Nathalia pondered before answering Aiden's question for she wanted to give her husband a precise answer in the simplest yet in a most efficient way.

Since she knew that Aiden might have a hard time comprehending everything at one go.

After all, the topic was not something that Aiden would usually encounter in his normal life.

When Nathalia was done with her explanation, she gave Aiden a quick side glance and it was then that she realized that the other party seemed to be deep in thought as if the matter regarding wandering souls deeply concerned him

So in an attempt to cheer him up, Nathalia added,

"Don't worry that much about the wandering souls. Because unless you are not that bored as to open up a conversation with the likes of them, they won't be able to bother you."

But contrary to what she intended Aiden's expression only sunk further the more she spoke and he even started to break into a cold sweat!

In the end, Aiden decided to tell Nathalia what exactly happened and why he was bothered.

"Well, apparently... I guess I am one of those bored people you were referring to..."

He said with a bitter smile.
