Music therapy (Edited)

As her fingers played with the strings of the guitar, her lyrics flowed like magic.

My sunshine, my heart, oh poor me

Love to me a foreign site, I sing like a dry well

I don't even care if they accept me, working through a maze

No one to count on anymore, the world's empty

Save me, whatever could, wind, water, air…

Jeff stood by her door and listened to her melodic voice. She was like a breath of fresh air; her awesome voice was a pleasure to his ears. But why, why would she hide that from him? He listened as she sang sorrowfully, was she conveying her emotions through her song? Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his heart. Was she that hopeless under his roof? Was he imprisoning her?

He made some shuffling noise to alert her that he was on his way to her room. He felt the music die down and for some reason, he felt sad. Why was she so hellbent on hiding so much from him? But then his mind reminded him that he was also not very honest with her in fact not even close to that.

To hell.

He stood in front of her door and waited as it opened. Amy was sitting in a corner of the bed with her back to the wall. "You look sorry," he started.

Amy only looked up briefly before she continued to file her nails. Jeff's eyes roamed around the room and he sighed inaudibly when he didn't see the guitar anywhere. She had to hide that too? Taking a seat beside her bed, he looked at her. She looked harmless at the moment but with his experience being a businessman, he could tell that her walls were up already and that she was conscious of his every movement.

"You okay?"

Amy snapped. "What, what do you want here?" her eyes were sharp and almost accusatory.

Jeff caught his lower lip beneath his teeth and licked it. "Amy, I know you aren't in the mood—"

She cut him "Get to the point."

Jeff sighed. "Fine." He knew himself that she was a hard nut and he would only spend the night arguing with her if he wasn't straight to the point. "They want to stay for the night, are you okay with that?"

The way she looked at him, he was sure he would have been dead already if looks could kill. "Why are you even asking me, this villa's yours?"

Damn, patience, Jeff.

"You're my lawful wife and I want to make sure that you're comfortable—"

Amy scoffed at that. "Lawful wife, is that what you discovered today?" she made as if to get out of bed but Jeff's words stopped her.

"I was wrong okay, this is our house, you have a say in everything in it."

Amy only tilted her head. "Is that so? Then the she-devil should leave."

Did she just name his aunt, she-devil? Although the name kind of fitted her well, he still never thought of naming people…hold it, if she had a name for his aunt in less than a day then what of him, did she also name him? Suddenly, his curiosity was piqued, he was sure that if he had one, it wasn't a good one. Now, he was indeed curious.

Is Jeff sure he wants to know what Amy calls him in her head?
