Act Like A Gentleman

Kimberly woke up on Sunday morning feeling unusually lethargic. She blinked at the soft sunlight filtering through her bedroom curtains, her body reluctant to move. The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, and today, her body seemed to demand a pause.

She lay in bed, listening to the distant sounds of the city waking up outside her window. The thought of getting up and facing the day felt almost insurmountable.

As she lay on her bed, her thoughts flickered back to all that had happened the previous day. Caroline's revelation, and then dinner with Richard. It had all been a toll to handle.

Thinking about Caroline's revelation, she thought about how funny both their situations were. Here she was marrying a man whose child she was carrying without his knowledge, and there she was, marrying a man she had been crushing on for a long time.
