Nothing but ashes

Greyson's POV

As i drove back from Jade"s house all the anger in the world that one could think of was flowing through me. How dare she? She thinks she can ruin my life and get off the hook easily. My life was perfectly fine untill she came along. I was doing just fine till her granfather made my dad sign the stupid agreement and ruined everything. it has been a year since i was told about the agreement one solid year.

I was perfectly okay with Sandra. We were going to get married start a home, we were happy till she came along. I still remembrr that day like yesterday. The worst day of my life when my dad told me i was goibg to marry her. The day that changed everythung, the day i lost Sandra. She was my world my everything. I remember her walking into my office that day looking beautiful as ever, she wore the widest smile that i have ever aeen. She had called me aearlier that day sayung she had something important to say. But when she got to my office she ocerheard my arguement with my dad concerning the wedding and left.

My dad had initially told me to give Jade the document myself bur i refused and sent Greg instead. Greg and j have been friends for as long as I could remember even before he started working for my dad six years ago. The pussy had come to my office saying she'd refused to sign. The nerve of that girl. She even called me a douche bag. A snirk formed on my face as i recalled her mistake when she called me hot. At least she had eyes for good men. A pity i didnt find her hot though.

Getting home, I parked my car in the drive way and wrnt in. I bought an apartment about three years ago since it was close to work and closer to Sandra's apartment. My mansion and paint house were off town, so it was easier for me this way.

Sighing i picked up my phone with the intentions of calling Greg but noticed 27 missed calls from Andrea and 3 messages from her. Andrea was Jade's cousin. One couldn't even tell they were related. Andrea unlike Jade was tall, she had a shapely figure , glossy skin, dainty nose. In summary, she was beautiful. One look at her and one could tell she was a model. Not that Jade was ugly she was good looking but not just to my taste. She was short, plump, redhaired, big breasted, ocean green eyes and curvy.

I opend my inbox and read the messages. The first read;

' Hello handsome in for a sleep over?

I scoffed at this. What a nice way to put it. The second message came about 5 minutea after the first. Asking if i was busy. Then the last message read;

'Heard you got a wifey now. Playing the faithful card?'

The nerve of this girl she sure knows how to dare a man. I planned on ignoring her but changed my mind when i recalled todays conversation with Jade. She didn't even recognize me. I mean i'm porpular not only in New York but in the business world at large. That should count for something right? It's either she knew me and pretended not to or she doesn't recognize me at all. Whichever it may be, i was going to make sure ahe knew who visited her today and what better way to do that than to appear on papetr with a beautiful woman. With that in mind, i called Andrea. She picked on the first ring.

"So what got you to call me the first or last message?". Andrea asked from the other end of the line.

"Actually none. The thought of annoying someone made me". I replied.

"By someone you mean your wifey". Andrea asked sounding amused.

"You still up foe the offer or not?" I asked her becomung irritated.

"Sure where do we meet?"

"Ill be at your place in five". I said and immediately ended the call not interested in her reply.

Andrea is my sister best friend and ever since Sandra left she had been trying to set us up even after she found out about my arranged marriage to Jade. Andrea was drop dead gorgeous and all but she was too clingy and clingy wasn't my thing. I just held unto her because she was a good fuck.

I hurriedly put on a black tuxedo with white inner shirt and black trousers to match. Hurried downstairs to the garrage. Andrea loved the Ford so I was going to drive her in that. In less than 30 minutes I was already at her place. I rang the door bell and her mom answered the door.

"Good evening Rose". I greeted.

"Evening Grey. How have you been?" She asked smiling. Andrea and her mom had a striking resemblance. They were both blonde, tall, beautiful and both were models. An Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"Been good, thanks for asking". I replied offering her my charming smile.

"Come in". She invited.

"No need. I'm just here to pick up Andrea. We have somewhere to go". I retorted politely. Just then Andrea came and stood behind her mom.

"You guys have fun". Rose said and went back in. Weird. Rose reacted opposite to what I'd expected. I mean I was marrying her niece in a week time and here I was going on a date with her daughter. I wasn't surprised though she and my mom were best of friends and they both always fantasized I and Andreas "would-be wedding" . A pity their hopes were crushed.

"Earth to Grey". Andrea snapped her fingers in my face bringing me back to earth.

"Sorry I zoomed out".

"You aren't even married yet and you are already stressed. It's a good thing you've got me to ease you up". She said running her hands all over my chest.

I wasn't thinking about her, nor was I stressed because of her. I roughly shoved her hands away from my chest, my irritation getting the best of me. The mere thought of Jade made my skin rise in a not-so-pleasant manner. And Andrea wasn't helping.

"Hey! dude calm down I was just trying to get under your skin". She said taking a step backwards.

"Then you'd be pleased to know you succeeded". I angrily spoke and went straight to my car without waiting to hear her response. God this girl was a pest.

Andrea came to the passenger seat of the car and sat down. "I'm sorry okay, can she not ruin our mood tonight?"

More like can you not ruin my mood. I thought.

"Great but no talk of marriage tonight just you and I. 1 like it always was. Okay?" I asked.

"Sure. where to?" She sounded excited.

"It's a surprise".

.........

Surprisingly, I enjoyed my date with Andrea. I took her to the Rainbow Room. We enjoyed our meal and talked of fun times. She helped remove my mind from Jade and the marriage. After we were done, we headed downstairs and was met with a handful of paparazzi. Exactly what I needed. A show for my would-be-wife. Dragging Andrea by her waist so we would be close, I delicately place her hand under my arm. I made sure I wore the best of smiles so charming and captivating. The walk to my car was less than a minute but I made sure to take my time so they could take as much pictures as possible. Andrea on the other hand was completely unaware of my motives and smiled gorgeously at the cameral. She inclined her head graciously as we were photographed.

The drive back to Andrea house was comfortably silent. As I drove all I could think about was the look on Jade face when she sees the news. I dropped Andrea home and politely rejected her "sleep over" offer. I had to speak with Greg. So instead of driving straight home I went to Greg's residence. I had a key so I didn't bother knocking.

Greg was seated on his bed taping away on his phone. I'm sure he was making plans for the night. Too bad I was going to ruin it for him.

"Sup man". He greeted once he saw me.

"Cancel whatever plans you're making because I'm filling you in on my misery tonihjt". I said attempting to piss him off. Greg got out of bed glaring hard at me.

"The hell you want Grey?" He asked turning to face me.

"What? can't a guy visit his best mate". I replied smirking wickedly at him. Irritation and frustration dripping off his face.

"What do you want Grey? You and I both know you aren't here to just ruin my mood".

"Well, I came to talk about Jade". I said

"You mean your fiancee?" He asked amusement written all over his face as he put emphasis on the word fiancee.

"Cut the crab Greg She isn't my fiancee".

"So what about her?" He asked sitting on the bed.

"As much as I would like to talk, I certainly prefer to do so downstairs. This place is a wreck". I told him while heading downstairs.

"She's beautiful you know". Greg said as he sat beside me.

I looked at him confused.

"I was refering to Jade. When I went to hand her the paper to sign, you should have seen the fire in her eyes when she spoke. So beautiful and full of life. She's also bold. I like her". If looks could kill Greg had be six feet under.

Bold my ass.

"If she really meant that much to you then you can have her". Here I was expecting him to have my back. But my pussy friend got smitten by the woman who kicked hiss ass out. He wasn't of any help to me at the moment. He was completely useless.

"Good night Greg". I said and got up.

"What! so that's it. You aren't going to talk about it after killIng my mood". He spat angrily.

"I'm sorry about that. But clearly you aren't in the right frame of mind to reason with me. Maybe you should ease up first you can reason clearly" .

I don't know why but for some reason my discussion with Greg only worsened my mood. Fire in her eyes. How dare she have fire in her eyes when all that was left in mine were ashes. She put out my fire the moment I learnt I was to marry her. They all did. All of them responsible for Sandra's disappearance put out my fire a long time ago. And I was going to take my time in quenching hers. Gradually extinguishing her fire till all that will be left is ashes.
