Chapter 38 Family Dinner 9

The waiter took us to another part of the restaurant, more private and secluded. He opened the only door standing there and we got in. I darted my gaze around quickly trying to study my environment till my gaze fell on the dinner table and the people I saw sitting there almost made me puke.

What are they doing here? Just who invited the last people I wanted to see in this world? I just couldn't understand what my father and his family were doing here. I walked to the table elegantly not minding the jealous glares at me. "Mother, Grandma!" Alex went ahead to peg his mum and grandma on their  cheeks. "It's a good thing you're still in one piece!" His grandma said glaring at me. Both women smiled parting his shoulder with a hug. It was evident they loved him so much.

Which made me remember my mother, this heartless man has refused to tell me where he kept my family. "Sir!" He greeted his father. "Alex my boy, no no don't call me that anymore, you've made your father more than proud!" Mr Oliver said.

"Mother, Grandma!" I greeted with a sweet smile. "Hazel come here!" Mrs Willow gestured her hands for a hug and I hugged her. "You look so beautiful!" Thank you mother you too!" I said to her. Alex's grandma only rolled her eyes at us, I ignored her and went ahead to Alex's father. "Good evening Father!" I greeted the man and he responded to my greetings with a nod and a smile. I winked at carie and she winked back smiling. "Avery!" I greeted "Hazel!" She responded.

"Father, Maria!" I acknowledged their presence, and sat down without waiting for their response. "How disrespectful of you, is this how you greet your parents Hazel?" Grandma said irritated. I still don't know why this woman hates me so much, I know everyone is not suppose to like me but at least don't take the slightest chance in bashing me. I opened my mouth, but before I could speak.

"Forgive her mother, she barely grew up with a mother, I guess that's why she lacks manners!" Maria said sternly. "Yes grandma you know kids who grow without parental guidance grow to become Hazelike!" Belle added. I tried so hard to restrain the range burning in me. I held the edge of my dress tight, trying to calm my self.

"That's enough Belle, do you want her to loose it, you know it runs in the blood!" Diana said. But on a second thought, why don't I let them humiliate themselves a little. At least I can say majority of the Wilson's sitted on this table are sensible. "That's enough, if you can't respect Hazel as your sister, then at least respect her as a Wilson now. Let's not all forget she's my wife, and I don't like people messing with what's mine!" Alex said sternly.

I was dumbstruck by his sudden response, and I didn't fail to notice the astonished looks on everyone's face including grandma. No one saw this coming, silence filled the lounge and no one dare to speak. I noticed how tensed everyone looked when he spoke, which made me wonder why they were all scared of this monster.

The waiters brought in our food and every one started eating, the restaurant is a French restaurant for fresh sea food I guess, and Alex kept putting most of the things he didn't like in my plate. If he didn't like them how did he know I'd like them too, but I had to keep my cool cause everyone was watching us now. We had to appear like the perfect couple.
