Chapter 318 DITCHERS 2

We arrived in Dubai, really arriving here at almost the end of the year is the best experience. The last time I was here was for my wedding, I and Carie had fun even if it resulted in trouble, we tried different restaurants, also discovered she was pregnant so I covered for her, this time it'll be with my family. Right in the car, I stared at the splendid city with tall buildings and wonderful people moving on the street.

Slowly the number of people moving lessened as we got further in, and when he took a right turn to an estate gate, there was not a single soul on the street. It was quiet, so quiet, I continued to admire the trees around the woods and didn't even know when we arrived at a gate and then a massive penthouse.

"I'd have picked this place for our honeymoon back then if I wasn't stupid." I heard Alex say as we stepped in.

The kids ran with their little legs screaming as they toured around the house. They tried touching all the glass vases, but this time it was above their reach no matter how hard they endeavored, they would not reach it. Kyle even tried jumping bug he was still too little to reach it, this is the perfect house for them. "It's not like it was fun after three days, you sent me away remember8 you," I responded stepping into the penthouse. "Thought we settled that already? You said you forgave me, Hazel."

"Forgiving is different from forgetting Alex." I walked away admiring the building, the wallpapers were magnificent same could be said about the branded toy designs on the stairs and hallways, which the kids touched and kissed. I didn't notice any maid in the house, as usual, the same could be said about Greece, it was just one housekeeper. Just two rooms are found in this big house, one for us and the other for the kids. Everything was perfect until...

As usual, they pulled me for their night bath already pulling their clothes one after another, I was going through another epistle of motherhood that I never asked for. The maids dressing and cleaning them was way better. I couldn't tell how much I've gotten Lazy until these few nights, I register to bed pretty exhaustedly after their night bath, it always feels like I've been working all my life.

Their giggles when poking each other's nipples got me laughing too, that was a nasty play, especially with Kyle and Alex. Maybe that's their kids' spot, they all ran into the bathtub filled with warm water to its brim for their bath. Kyle brought up a song and the rest picked it up, they sang shaking their head.

"Row, row, row your boat

Gently down the stream

Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily

Life is but a dream". Repeating it continuously as they played with their water creatures, letting me scrub them.

While still bathing them, I noticed my phone ringing and I had to take it, dropping more tiny ducks and crocodiles in their bathwater so it could at least distract them for some time. "Mother." I greeted politely, "I can't believe you, Hazel, you know I expected nothing less from Alex, but you??" She started her nagging and I just had to listen without a word. "You've turned out to be the man you despise the most, Alex influence and Irresponsibility when it comes to the family have really consumed you." She said.

"Your grandmother is so upset with you, infact the entire family is upset with both of you, you better return tomorrow. DITCHERS." She hunged up immediately. I chuckled shaking my head at her words, there's no way Hazel would be Alex, not when she's trying to change him to be a better person. Or is he changing me

I stepped into the kitchen after their bath to prepare dinner, I haven't seen Alex since we arrived or better still, since our little word exchange. I guess I really hurt him with my words. Watching the kids eat cheerfully after having given them the dinner I prepared was a sight to behold, even though I have forgotten how to cook, I still made something out of nothing. I don't know the kind of life Alex was aiming for, but this wasn't what a vacation felt like, I'm meant to be stressed free not the other way round.

They went to bed after dinner, I waited for Alex to return to the lounge to at least apologize for what I said. He's been a good father and husband to me, withstanding all of my bullshits but eventually slept off in the process when he didn't return.

"They're not coming mother, Hazel and Alex are on a vacation in Dubai when we have serious family issues to handle. "Those two," Margret said with a smile, she couldn't ask for a better match for her grandson, he's gone through so much that he deserves this new light in his world. "If they decide to go on vacation Maria let them be, we don't need them anyway, the Finsbury have stated their intentions on Avery and it seems fair," Margret stated.

"Fair? My daughter Is not some price for a man, or a sack of potato people toss around whenever they feel like it." Maria cut Margret off her words feeling annoyed at the woman's words. She could accept anyone except the Finsbury, they were like the bottom amongst the most local family in the society. A Wilson cannot be seen on the same level as a Finsbury, it's not just accepted, never.

Avery sat at a corner still trying to figure out why Falcon left, they had a good deal, he was going to take her shame away and she would do anything he ask, but he ran away. Alex was right, he didn't want to be tied to a gay for the rest of his life, but he would have said something rather than just being silent about everything. Everything happening in the family was him that's one of the reasons he ditched the meeting to be in Dubai. The Finsbury just coming up now was also him to distract his family from Falcon, he would deal with that man in a way he's never done before.

He could easily kill Falcon, but Avery would never forgive him and that might lead to a forever beef between both of them. Everyone has accepted who his sister is, except his mother and grandma cause of their family's name and society talks.

Alex sat quietly on a stool as he drank to his satisfaction so quietly, it's so fun how bars run-up in this place till so late at night. Dubai was his second home while still single, he barely stayed in NYC, but still controlled the city in his absence like he's doing now.

Falcon was yet to arrive at his destination, the ship could take four days to a week to get there. Alex could already imagine the suffering the man would go through and he smiled. That alone brought joy to his heart, he was yet to find out why he wanted to marry his sister when he never loved her. His smile deflated when he recalled his wife, that woman just doesn't know how to use her words, yes he sent her away but he apologized and confessed his feelings like a thousand times.

He knew why she felt that way, cause such moments are one in a lifetime and he ruined it for her. Picking up his suit, Alex headed back home, him not returning would only make things worst. Arriving back at home, he saw her sleeping on the couch, in her most beautiful and vulnerable state. He helped her up and she gently opened her sleek eyes, "Alex?" She called, "Yes love." He picked her up in his arms and she placed her arms around his shoulders.

"I love you." She said quietly burying her face in his chest, "I know." Alex whispered with a smile as he climbed the stairs. "Why do you stink of alcohol?" He saw her two pairs of blue eyes glaring at him. He's dead, he's so dead...
