Chapter 161 REUNION ( HIDDEN TRUTH2)

 I left Alex on the dance floor and went ahead to stand with Aunt Amelia. "What's wrong the music is not over yet?" She whispered with a confused tone, as well as the confused eyes staring at me especially mother's eyes. I couldn't take their gazes anymore and I walked away, at least go to the bathroom away from these suffocating hall. 

"We meet again sister in-law. I guess it's my turn to dance with the lovely bride!" I met his gaze and realized it was Carlos. "My feet hurts and I need to use the bathroom!" I tried walking away but he blocked my way. I sighed frustratedly.

"You don't look happy, are you alright?" "I'll take it from here Carlos!" Alex placed his hands on my shoulder squeezing it a little. "Hello Alex!" Alex said nothing but rather stared at the man, his grip on my shoulder softened.

"I see you've not forgiven me yet even if you're now married to a wonderful woman!" Carlos smile broadened as his gaze fell on me. Alex still said nothing and kept on staring and little by little Carlos's smile fell and the man walked away.

What happened?

"What is wrong with you Hazel? What happened to staying away from these people?" He said calmly "What are you talking about? I'm not a child limited to who I should talk to or not. I'm a woman that knows what she wants. Don't forget our relationship is temporarily I need to get aquainted with others!" 

"My life shouldn't be centered around you all the time!" He turned me around and I met his gaze.

"That shouldn't warrant you disrespecting my words. You should respect my decisions now we're still together!" "Like you didn't just do the same few minutes ago!"

"What are you talking about?" He asked like he did nothing. Of course we're playing the dumb card now, well Mr Alex, two can play that game.

"Let me be Alex, I need to be alone!" He held my wrist stopping me from moving further as he planted kisses on my palm. "You can't be alone, not now, not tonight. You know how much I hate parties and I'm here cause of you!" This manipulative man, Aurgh.... I might kill Alex one day'.

"Here cause of me? I don't recall that, the last time I checked you were glaring at a man like you're about to kill him. You promised me you wouldn't be doing that today!"

"That's true, I was thinking of killing him tonight. Thinking, I didn't really do it. And like I said it's all about you tonight!" He smiled. The type of smile that sends chills to my body. "Then focus on me and stop thinking of killing someone today. No bloods today Alex, I need to sleep in peace tonight!"

"Fine, I won't kill anyone tonight, I promise. Just make sure to stay by my side for the rest of the night, so I don't do something stupid!"

"I will!" I reassured for him to nod.

He held my chin pegged my lips quickly. That one peg made my heart flutter, I was hypnotized again. "Alex!" I scolded and blushed.

"I just never thought you'd be getting married!" We turned to meet her gaze, it was Berverly, what does she want this time? "And why's that?" I raised a brow. "You know... Cause your marriage is only......!" "I'll be with Benson come when you're done!" Alex said to me before walking away.

"Alex!" He met her gaze and I felt my blood boil, "Congratulations!" He nodded and left. "Fake marraige is that what you were going to say?"

"Don't worry your secret is safe with me!" She smiled.

"There's no need keeping any secrets, I don't want you to!" "You've said more than you should Hazel, you don't know what I'm capable off!" I yawned at her words.

"Take a chill pill and stop your insecurities. It baffles me how clearly you know of all these being fake yet you try to separate us, when you're fully aware it's a one year contract and we're yet to reach half the year!"

"If you're gonna be like this from now, that means you might die of heart attack before the year's over!" I shook my head. "Hazel is everything Alright?" Aunt Amelia walked up to us placing her hands on my right shoulder. "Yes I'm fine Aunt, Berverly was just here to say her own congratulations. Right Berv?" I smiled sweetly.

"Berverly, I've been looking everywhere for you. Come now I need to do some intro......!" Mr Balowe trailed off staring at Aunt Amelia. The same goes to Aunt Amelia which had I and Berverly confused.

What's going on here? I thought.

"Can you please explain to me why you're ignoring me?" Carie was trapped in a corner by Lukas. He just couldn't understand why she was playing the hide and seek game with him. She's changed from being the jovial and irresistible Carie to a sad person.

He didn't like this version of her and Lukas wanted to know what was wrong. He didn't recall doing anything wrong, infact they hugged and kissed even made love before he left for Alex's bachelor's party.

While Lukas was engrossed in talking to his baby, Maria and her mother had to attend to their guest to keep everyone happy. Alex's eyes never left Hazel while he talked with Benson. Hazel was meant to come stand by him, but she was still busy talking to Berverly and now her father.

Alex wondered when the two women became friends. He darted his gaze to the corner he had seen Philip earlier to realize the man was not there anymore. "What are you doing standing here, thought we already agreed on taking Philip down!" Oliver walked up to his son.

"That cannot be done tonight, my wife does not want that!" Said Alex briefly looking at Hazel's direction and could see the shock expression on her face. What the hell is going on there? He thought as he stared at them.

Whatever his father was saying could no longer get to him as his mind wondered around Hazel. Before Oliver could complete his words, he saw his son walk away.

He sighed. This was one of his fears, that Alex would one day find a woman that would change him from who he is to something else. He didn't want Alex to look or appear weak before their enemies, if they even had one anymore. The last he checked the only enemy they had left was Philip, great grand son to Robert.

     "I need to use the rest room!" Carie walked out on Lukas heading to the bathroom. She just didn't know how to tell him she was pregnant,what if he doesn't accept the baby? What will she do if Lukas finds her less attractive and wouldn't want anything to do with her anymore. She was scared, scared of his reaction.

At he entrance of the bathroom stood a waitress asigned by Maya with a tray. Carie dropped her drink on the tray and got in.

The maid immediately dropped the substance given in the liquid, double checking if anyone saw her until her eyes fell on Maya who stared at her. The girl gve her a nod and Maya walked away.

Her mission was already fufilled and she was ready to enjoy her night cause after tonight she would be the new Mrs Voilla. She smiled and went ahead to pick a glass of drink to enjoy herself.

Alex arrived close to his wife, "No it's not possible, this low class maid cannot be my mother!" Berverly screamed at her father. "Watch your mouth Berverly the low class maid is my Aunt!"

"Do I look like i give a fuck about you and your stupid family, just stay away from me and my life. Stop making it more complicated!" She said gaining everyone's attention and people Bagan to gather in small groups whispering to themselves.

The family members there were speechless and Amelia could not stop crying. Hazel Pat her back tenderly trying to calm her down, it's not easy for  mother when her child rejects her. Alex stood beside Berverly trying to understand the situation.

How was this even possible? Even if both parties have explained it like a thousand times it still felt beyond belief. 

Hazel wondered how it was possible for her Aunt Amelia to be Berverly and Maya's birth mother............
