Chapter 1: court me dear prince

Princess Adriana woke up to the sound of the beautiful birds singing and the sun shining on her beautiful face, she open are eyes and stretched her body, she had a smile on her face, why the smile u ask.

it is her 19th birthday and In the kingdom of Azrath,A princess who turn 19th will be courted and by 20 should marry the person who courted her, if she agrees to him.

Adriana could not wait, she had been stuck suffering in the castle ever since her mother died when she was just 8 . her step mother lizar hated her a lot.

lizar was already divorce by her husband before she courted the king.She had two children candy and rose, candy was the eldest she was older than Adriana by a year and rose was 8yrs old, candy and rose was bore by lizar and the king.

Candy was already being courted by prince Luka of hasdine and is soon to get married He was a very handsome young lad who every girl would dream of but not Adriana, she doesn't get what people see in him.

But now it was her turn, he father King David loved her dearly for it reminded him of his true love who died unfortunately, her last wish was for him to take care and love Adriana for the rest of her life in the castle therefore he was her favorite, she wasn't spoiled like candy and rose thou rose was

his child.

The only person who cared for Adriana was

Linda her maid. Linda had been like a mother to hr ever since her mother die though she was very close to Adriana since the day she was born.

Adriana didn't really have good cloths not makeup, she always wore hand me down from her sisters even the makeup she had was plain. She was as thin as a broom,her sky blue eyes,long black hair falling to her waist, cherry pink lips. her pale skin made her look sick.

Linda knock on her door and walked into her room. "good morning my sunshine princess". "mum" "happy birthday darling " Linda said as she hugged Adriana.

She handed Adriana a bag " it's a little gift from me to you".

Adriana eyes opened wide,I was a dress,shoe and some makeup: lipstick, Mascara and so much more.

"but...mum, where did u get the money to buy all these?" "nevermind about that, come on you have to get ready for your big day" she said as she dragged Adriana to the bed.

Linda brought out the lipstick and wanted to apply it to Adriana's lips, but Adriana stopped her halfway.

"answer me" "I was able to buy it with the money I've saved up just for you" "you don't have to do this you know" "adri dear of course I have to, you are like my daughter afterall".

Adriana felt teary and hugged her."come on don't cry now, we have to get you ready".

Adriana wiped her tears away and smiled at her. Downstairs,The castle was being decorated beautifully, beautiful colors everywhere. King lizar was ordering everyone around making sure everything was perfect.

the party started and many guest arrived,many prince from different kingdoms.

Adriana looked out her window, many carriages were parked outside.

She was feeling nervous, what if one prince set his eyes on her, what if she embarrassed herself, no prince would want a thin and pale wife.

Linda noticed Adriana nervous face, she held her hands and said. "adri no need to be nervous,you are beautiful no matter what and any prince who fail to see you for who you really are underneath this pale skin of yours well let me just say he is a blind fool and it is a sign from the Gods above that the person is not right for you". Adriana felt tears in her eyes and hugged Linda. what will she do without Linda in her life.

The door burst open interrupting their mother and daughter moment, it was candy.

"ohh, am sorry did I interrupt something?"

"what do u want candy?"Adriana said as her brows furrowed.

"oh dont mind me hehehe, I just came to wish you happy birthday and it seems that you are going to be courted today..oh wait a minute what am I saying....hahaha...courted by who....who exactly would want to court a girl who looks like she's suffering from a serious disease hahahaha"candy said.

Adriana clenched her fists ready to hit candy but Linda held her back. Adriana calmed down and said "and who gave you the right to come in here and sprout nonsense"

"oh adri dear, seems your mother didn't teach you proper manners,as we all know I am the soon to be queen of Azrath" candy proudly said.

Adri just laughed at her step sister's foolishness. "oh my, who told you that?" "if I'll have to know that it's mum who told me that the first child of a king will inherit all and I am the eldest daughter so I will inherit all that is of father".Candy said.

Adriana laughed louder "dear sister how could you be so foolish, you may be the eldest but you aren't the first child, firstly you don't have any connection with the king only by your mother's marriage to my father after that no other connection,you don't have his blood but I do so in conclusion,I am the first daughter of the family" Adriana said as she folded her arms.

"that's....wa...no...arghHHH" candy said and stroked out of the room.

Adriana and Linda burst out into laughter and high fived each other as soon as candy left.

"okay, that's enough adri we have to get you downstairs everyone is waiting" Linda said to adri as she nodded.

DOWNSTAIRS:

Linda walked adri down the stairs, the moment they were spotted the whole hall became quiet.All eyes were on her.

She felt chills run down her spine, some were whispering, some were shocked and some were laughing.

She squeezed Linda hand tightly "it's gonna be alright"Linda told her.

Adriana sat beside her dad on his throne as her father stood up to raise a toast. "a toast to my daughter, princess Adriana" everyone also raised there cup and cheered for her.

She felt a lot better knowing her father is by her side.The party went on as usual and it was time for the male princes who attended the party to decide if they want her or not.

No prince stepped forward, the room became dead quiet, Adriana put her head down in shame and didn't want anyone to see her teary eyes. This was the first time in the history of Azrath that the princess will get denied. A man in a hoodie stood up from his chair and stepped forward, his black hoodie covered his face only his jaw line could be seen.

"who is thou that Seth for to marry my daughter" the king said. Adriana raised her head,she still had hope left.

The hoodie prince removed his cover over his face making everyone to gasp and whisper.

it was a man of true beauty, his golden red eyes like that of fire, his black silky hair fell to his back, his luscious red lips, eyelashes that thou has never seen before, his perfect nose like that of an angel and his Adams apple moving down making a woman lust over him in seconds,he was the perfect definition of a prince.

Myths say that hellinda was filled with demons and other creatures of different kind where they lived in peace untill the witches came and declared war over them.It was said that the prince of hellinda took them all on alone and killed every last one of them he only spared one for him to tell his story and warn every witch who dares to fight against his kingdom the consequences of their actions.Ever since then no one even dared to say or think of war against the hellinda kingdom, the story was told to every child as a bed time story.

" it is I, Prince Alvarez of hellinda so of Lucian" he said as he bowed down to the king.

"speak of the reason why u wish to marry her". Adriana look at the expressionless man who stood in front of her, he was really handsome but why would he wish for her.

" I wish for a wife, who I can treat well and will treat me with love to, a faithful wife, a courageous wife and a wife who will bare me children and to see no one choose a beautiful angel like her, I will be happy and glad to take her as my wife ". " hmmmm, if anyone still wants to come out,come out no or forever stay silent". No one still came out.

"hmmm, young prince I give you the right to court my daughter". "thank you my Lord". Alvarez said as he looked at her, Adriana stared at him with a smile and he tilted her head at her, making her laugh out. "oh am sorry dad". she said and composed herself.

Music played on and everyone danced and enjoyed their selves while Alvarez took Adriana to the royal garden to have a talk with her.
