He's here?

Emilia had spoken with her daughter. She told her that everything would be alright, but Elen knew it was not going to be. Her mother is only comforting her with her words. She's grateful for everyone who had given her words of encouragement, without them, her little resolve would just break into pieces and no one would be able to put them together.

"Hope you listened carefully to all I have told you?" Her mother asked.

"Yes mother, don't worry. I listened attentively to all you had to say."

"Remember one thing, don't ever m_"

"Mother, I told you I remember, there's no need to repeat them again."

"Well, I did that incase you didn't listen carefully." She said causing Elen to almost roll her eyes. Does her mother thinks she's still a child who needed more counselling? She's an adult now, so her mother should stop worrying about unnecessary things.

"Mother, like I said, there's really no need for you to worry. I'll be fine, okay." Elen said as she assured her mother and thankfully she nodded but she noticed little wet particles on her mother's face. Why was she crying? Shouldn't she be happy that she's finally getting married??

"Mother, why are you crying?" Elen asked.

Her mother stared at her and used her thumbs to flick the tears away. "This...this is nothing Elen, it's tears of joy. My daughter is finally going to get married." She said causing Elen's eyes to widen for a moment. If she's finally getting married, why is she crying? Is she not supposed to be joyous over this occasion? It's actually the day she and father have been waiting for, so why does it feel that mother's hiding something.

Her inner mind subconsciously told her to hug her mother because this might be the last time. She learnt that in Lucrain, once you get married to one of the royals, you won't be permitted to leave the kingdom to your parents home. She thought that it was a baseless rule but she thought about it and it actually made sense to her.

Elen hugged her mother one last time. She stayed like that for a long while. She knew this would be the last time. She just wants to savour this moment and hug her mother just like this.

She was about to speak when a maid entered her chambers. "Apologies, my queen....the prince is here." The maid said.

Elen was surprised, they still have a few minutes left before he arrives. Why did he come earlier than expected.

"He's here?" Elen was the one who asked.

"Yes, your highness." The maid replied.

The queen dismissed her and asked her to call Elen's other maids.

"Your soon-to-be husband is here, we need to go fast." Emilia said.

Elen nodded and gave her mother one last hug. "I'll miss you so much mother." Elen said, trying to fight back the tears that were welled up in her eyes.

Her mother patted her head gently. "I'll miss you too, my child."

...

Elen was seen descending down the stairs so elegantly with Ellie beside her and a few of her maids. Ad tradition calls, her mother is not supposed to be beside her, so in replacement of that, her maids or her friend would escort her.

Ellie whispered in Elen's ears. "Everything will be alright, just act normal and don't be nervous."

Elen nodded, she didn't want to make anyone worry unnecessarily.

Elen's gaze flew towards her father, he was sitting beside mother, with a wide grin on his face. She could tell that he was ecstatic. Her mother also looked happy. She looked next to her father and Titus was sitting there, with a proud face. Her eyes searched for Amir but she didn't find him.

Where was he? He promised he would be here when the wedding starts and she couldn't find him anywhere.

"Where's Amir?" Elen asked Ellie.

Ellie who had forgotten about their last encounter, suddenly got reminded, but she didn't know where he went to. She left him back in the hallway, she didn't know where he possibly went to.

"I don't know." She said shrugging her shoulders, and Elen nodded.

They had finally descended the staircase and they stopped moving. Why did they stop? Did something happen? Or is something supposed to happen from here? But before she could even finish her thought, a man in a pair of black royal coat, stood before her, extending his hands forward.
