"Miss Cale, Mr Norton would like to see you." Cecelia said to Summer. She knew better than to call her Mrs Norton in public when it hadn't been officially announced by Mr Norton himself. She walked away and Jess looked at Summer.

"It hasn't even been 30 minutes and he wants to see you already? My prayers shall go with you, Sums." Jess made a cross sign and Summer rolled her eyes. Dramatic much? She stood up and went to Chris's office. Penny sat in her office documenting a file and a co worker rushed in.

"Ms Reeves, Summer just got called into his office." It was one of her little minions. She smiled and dropped the file, then clasped her hands.

"To men like Mr Norton, there is nothing more important than reputation. Let's give him a little nudge." She got up and left her office. This was it. The moment shed been waiting for.

Summer stepped into his office. It was Mr Bryant's former office. No one could blame him for selling the Journal. With the kind of money Mr Norton could've offered, he would be set for life. There he was, seated on his chair. Looking like a sexy Mafia leader. She bit her lips. But then, composed herself.

"You wanted to see me sir?" She began.

"Sir? That's not what you called me last night." He gave a sexy smirk. She blushed heavily and tried to cover it.

"Don't. You look beautiful." He complimented. Wasn't he a charmer? Penny rushed in.

"I am so sorry sir that Summer just barged in here so rudely sir. It .." she placed her hand on her chest in false sincerity. "It hurts me to say this but she has become a liability for the company. And I think she should leave permanently." She faked a sniff. Summer stared at her in disbelief. What the hell? Chris stared at Penny. It was obvious she was lying. Summer was the sweetest person he knew.

"Tell me, how has she become a liability?" He asked.

"Well she humiliated you in the interview, sir and she is disrespectful to her superiors, she bosses her colleagues around...she is really poisoning this company." Penny said more. Summer's mouth was agape. She had heard people tell lies about her but even this was too much and not even fitting her description. She couldn't just stand there and let her talk trash about her.

"This sounds more like Ms Reeves self-introduction. I could never live up to that." Emphasis on the never.

"How dare you insult me in front of Mr Norton?" She folded her arms, squinting her eyes.

"I've heard enough. You're fired." Chris turned to his desk. Penny laughed.

"You hear that? Why don't you go clear out to things and don't let the door hit your sorry ass on the way out" she cackled.

"I meant you. Not her." Chris said again. How could she say such things about Summer? It was clear she was an evil witch who hated Summer for no reason. Penny looked shocked at his announcement.

"What? No, no, that's a mistake, why would you..."

"I don't owe you an explanation, you're not worth my time." He signaled his security standing outside. "Security...get Ms Reeves out of here." He returned to his work. They came in and held her, and began to lead her outside.

"Nancy was right, you are a nasty little bug." She said. Nancy? That slut? Summer thought she didn't hear right.

"Wait" she stopped them from taking her. "How do you know Nancy?"

  "She's my niece."

Of course. Why couldn't she see it before? Birds of the same feathers. She scoffed, with a smile.

"I see. I can smell it now, the same junk pile you both came out of." She shook her head. The security took her away. As she protested.

"Sir, this is a mistake, she's just some stray dog from a farm. She's a nobody!" Her protests died down as she got farther away. Chris tossed his pen away and got up and walked towards Summer. She walked back as he came closer. What was he doing? Not here, not now. He stared into her eyes, his eyes filled with lust. Then, she was backed against the wall, nowhere to run. He placed a hand close to her head on the wall.

"You were so tough back there."

"I'm just, not used to this, we're in the office, okay?" Summer wanted to melt.

"Well you better get used to it." He said. Then took his hands off the wall. "Who's this Nancy?"

"My ex-boyfriend's current girlfriend. He left me after I put him through law school for 5 years."

"You don't have to worry about him anymore I think you moved on to something better..." He paused "...and bigger." He looked down and she knew exactly what he was talking about. He was crazy. He leaned in for a kiss and she placed  her index finger on his lips.

"Nuh uh, we're in the office mister." She said, then placed a hand on his chest, smiled and walked away. Chris stared at her long and hard. Damn, she knew how to push his buttons and he wanted her right now. But he knew he had to wait. She wasn't running. She was his.

Summer got home, well his home actually. It was more like her now. Since last night things have been different. She smiled - good different. She got into her room, went to the bathroom and began taking off her earrings, lost in thought. She didn't know how long she'd been standing there but then she felt someone come up behind her and covered her eyes. Who else?

"Christian, what are you doing?" She laughed. He turned her to face him, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Well, someone told me to wait at home and I did as I was told, so I think I deserve a little reward." He then kissed her, lifted her up and took her to the bed...

The next day Summer was as happy as ever. Her life was turning out great. Everything seemed to be working out. Penny had been fired, she had someone who at least cared about her and no word from her parents since the parking lot incident. Everything was just fine. She could get used to this. She was ready for work and about stepping out then she saw a middle aged woman sitting in the living room, sipping tea. The woman dropped the tea as soon as she saw her.

"Look what time it is." She began. "Don't you know Christian has to go to work? Where's breakfast? Is this how you serve your husband?" She yelled angrily. What the fudge? Who was this and why was she talking to her that way?

"I'm sorry, who are you?" She asked.

"I'm your so-called mother-in-law for now"   oh shoot, it was Chris' mother. Why was she so rude? She reached for her bag.

"Now tell me...how much is it going to take for you to leave my son?" She brought out a cheque book and a pen. "Name your price."

"I didn't marry Christian for money, Mrs Norton if you have a problem with our marriage, it's Christian you should be talking to, not me." She tried to be nice and minced her words. Lord knows how much she wanted to say. Chris walked up behind her and placed a hand on her waist.

"Your lovely new wife has a mouth on her." She said to him.

  "Mother, don't."

"Christian Norton Jr you are the sole heir of Norton enterprises. You can't marry a woman like this. We don't even know what cave she crawled out from. That's it...you two are getting a divorce." She said with an air of authority.
