Captured and Cornered
Back inside the chateau, it's absolute chaos.
Even with the involvement of the police, the attackers are still not completely subdued. They're scattered everywhere – down the halls, in the guestrooms, at the lounges. The assailants managed to capture a few visitors, taking them hostage before lighting up the place in flames.
Hermes and Giselle have also been seized while in the middle of their mission to retrieve Meir and Ercilia.
"Take them to Master," bade the man in a guard uniform.
Hermes surveys the people with him, all clad in not-too-shady apparel. Some are disguised as security while others are party servers. They are clumping like ants, waiting for him and Giselle to try something.
His gaze lands on the man who found them, on the gun in his hands. It's a rudimentary weapon, a flintlock, but a weapon is a weapon. This is how one puts down a dog, and by that idea alone, he feels like laughing.
