'Relationship scandal!! Miss Laura and the young prince Edward'
That was the news Laura woke up to hear the next day, Ella called her a number of times and even a few people she hasn't talked to for a while are asking her questions.
Laura looked at Chris who is still sleeping beside her and she feels a bit sore over her body and lay down on her back again as she start to check what exactly is going on and that's when Chris also opened his eyes
"Good morning" he greeted with a smile and use his hand to rub her stomach to greet their baby too
"Morning sunshine" he said and place his ear near her tummy to hear the baby's heartbeat which made Laura laugh
"You can't hear her now, she is just a few weeks old" Laura said but Chris didn't agree with her
"Why are you up early? It's just five" he asked
"I was disturbed by Ella's call about a dating scandal or something" she answered nonchalantly and Chris looked at the page showing on her phone to see what it's about.
"What is the relationship between the CEO of LOVELIES group of companies and the young prince Edward Brook" Laura scroll down the post to see a picture attached to it. It's a picture from yesterday and Edward was touching her head in the picture and there is one where he hugged her.
Laura continue to look at the picture not noticing Chris, whose face already turned sour and he looked at the picture with anger.
"What nonsense is this?" Laura said and saw another writing
"Mr Brook picked a married woman as a bride?"
"What on earth!" Laura exclaimed and before she could say further, Chris snatch the phone from her
"Isn't this the party you attended yesterday?" Chris questioned and Laura nodded yes.
"Who is he? Do you know him personally?" He questioned again and she answered yes.
"Does he like you?" Chris asked. Eve from the pictures, he can see that the guy was looking at her with gentle eyes and smiled in all the pictures
"He confessed his feelings to me a long time ago" she told him and Chris raised his brows at her with a face that says 'what the hell!"
Laura lookinh at his face and laughed, she has not seen him act jealous for a while now and seeing him now looks very funny to her
"Why do you have that expression?" She asked like she doesn't know he is pissed off by those pictures. Chris threw her phone away on the bed and lay back on the bed in annoyance
Laura turned and rest her body on his then run her hand through his hair playfully before explaining
"He is just a friend, he likes me in the past but not anymore" she said but Chris continue to sulk
"You look cute" she said smiling and kissed his hair but he still didn't stop and turned away from her.
"Are you really not going to talk to me? Okay then, I think I have a date with him this evening so.." Chris turned swiftly to her and gave her a stern look
"Why did you let him touch her hair?" He asked and Laura looked confused
"Are you angry because he touched my hair?" She asked but he didn't say anything and pull her into his arms touching her hair like a possessive lover.
"Don't let anyone touch your hair later in the future or I will cut off such person's hands" he threatened and she nodded
"Go back to sleep, I will have the help prepare breakfast immediately" he said before giving her a short kiss on her lips and got out of bed to do so.
Chris returned after a few minutes and the both of them entered the bathroom to take a bath together
When they came out of the room dressed and prepared for work, Laura got a call from Ella again and told her clearly it's just someone trying to cause some trouble and asked her not to worry about it the asked after pumpkin who is doing very great and so happy to see her father. Laura could hear both her and Nicholas voice in the background and is about to end the call when Nicholas asked to speak with her
"Hey, how are you?" He greeted but Laura just gave a silent sound to respond
"Mum is organizing a family meeting and she is going to invite you there. I think it's about some of her family that has been laid off from the company and Chris taking over the position of the vice president" he informed her because he is sure his mother is up to something this time and must be afraid because the power she has in the business is dismissing as her minors is being send out of power.
"Okay" Laura simply said and cut the call.
"My stepmom wants to have a family meeting" Laura told Chris as the sat down and he serves the both of them
"What family meeting?" He asked
"Something about the company, anyways we should go together after we pick a date for our wedding" she told him and Chris sat down beside her after he finished dishing out the meal
"Sure, what date will you like for that to be"
"In three weeks?" She suggested and Chris happily consent to it
"Three weeks it is then, I will inform my parents about it later in the day" he said excited and place some more toast in her plate.

Laura went to the hospital with Chris for a check-up, the issue about her and Edward was soon concluded to be fake news when Edward threatened to sue anything company trying to drag his family name in the mud and all post couldn't be found online after a day.
After confirming that her baby is in good position and growing well, the both leave and listed down the things they are instructed to do including coming for antenatal for the baby.
The both of them got to the park and Chris helped Laura to get into the car and place her bag at the back of the car. She wore a red asymmetrical skirt with a crop top and a black leather jacket while Chris wore a red tuxedo but remove the suit and place it at the back of the car.
He start the car and head to Laura's father house. The meeting her stepmother arranged is scheduled for today and Laura has never attended because she has tried all her best to stay away from her but she has to go today to clarify and establish her authority to everyone that will be present there. In the past, she has been alone since her father ran away but now she has Chris.
Laura smiles and rub her small and round tummy then touched Chris's hand as he drives, he smiled back at her and held her hand with one of his then continue to drive with the other hand.
They soon arrived at the house and Laura step out of the car observing the building she has left for years now since her stepmother move in.
She moved to the sunflower house and let them live there although her stepmother keep insisting that she comes back to the house then.
Chris told her to wait while he park the car and left, she stood beside the entrance of the house and saw one of her father's sister coming.
Laura sighed turning her face away to avoid greeting or talking to her but she already noticed her and walked towards her
"Laura! It's been so long" she greeted cheerfully and attempt to hug her but Laura move away to stop her
"Auntie, good afternoon" Laura greeted back
"Are you still avoiding this house? You should know she is part of your family now and she is your guardian since your father has disappeared" she said meaning no harm but Laura faked a smile and chose not to reply her. Chris soon join her and together they entered the house.
It is like a small get together and everyone is busy exchanging greetings and sarcasm, immediately a few number of them saw Laura come in with Chris they looked at them with angry eyes and hiss loudly. Laura could smell their irritation for her but ignore them and took Chris to her room back in the days
She saw the househelp who has been working for them come out of her room and greeted her warmly
"You are here already, come let me see your face" the woman said and touch her face slowly then she hugged her before greeting Chris also in the same manner
"She told me you might attend this meeting so I cleaned up your room" she said again referring to Nicholas's mother.
"Thank you so much" Laura told her and entered the room, she took a minute to look and see if she can still recognize how she has left the room and found out that everything is intact except that some of her wallpapers are gone.
Chris also looked around the room remembering that he has been here once when he came with his mother to visit Laura's family and they were sent to go play in her room but she didn't allow him inside although after he won a game, she had to give in.
The both of them played with her dress and comestics and Chris even put them on, he looked at Laura to see if she still remember it but she seems to be deep in thoughts.
He move closer to her and place his hand on her shoulder which made her flinch and turned to him
"Are you fine?" He asked and closed up the gap in between them
"Yeah, just thinking about some old stuff" she answered and walked further into the room then sat down and pat the seat next to her for him to join her. Chris gave over and sat down next to her then the both of them lay down holding each other hands.
"Chris, I have an hunch about something" she start slowly and swallowed hard as she thought about to tell him her thoughts. He caress her hand to encourage her to continue
"What if Nicholas is not actually my brother?" She asked and he turned to her questioning.
"At the hospital the other day, he is of a negative blood group and my dad is positive. It's almost impossible for a positive father to have a negative child" she explained and Chris reasoned with her words.
"Besides, I checked his genotype and he is AS. My dada is AA but I don't know that of his mother and I feel like I should dig into this and find out the truth" Chris turned on his side and held her cheek, looking into her eyes. He could see the uncertainty and faer, if indeed her stepmom lied about the parental of her son then they will have to expose her
"How did you want to deal with it?" He asked
"I need find a way to find out her blood group and genotype. I remember when we request for the medical report of Nicholas then, she said he is O'positive"
"Okay then but you will have to attend the meeting and get everyone's attention to yourself while I do the rest"
"Really? How?" She asked
"Don't worry, I will handle it" he assured then kissed her. Laura respond to his kiss and the two rolled in the bed together just then the woman earlier came to call the both of them to join others in the living room.
