Dinner with the Welcher's II
There was a diamond necklace, a golden necklace and all sort of necklaces that was blurring her vision. 'Just how rich did her father get in two years'Anaiah thought. She sighed at the heaviness of the necklace which was chosen by Alessandra. Even though she has never seen or worn anything like this before, she still couldn't appreciate it.
Just in time, Jeremy entered the room and was not disappointed by what he saw . "Perfect and enchanting" he complimented. "You're indeed an epitome of beauty"he added staring at her admiringly. Anaiah clenched her hand into a fist as she gritted her teeth. "I'm proud you took your mom's mesmerizing jade green eyes, it makes you alluring"he praised and Alessandra rolled her eyes. Alessandra left as her work was done.
Wendy who got the whimp of what was going on from the servants couldn't believe her ears."Why would they have to choose a nobody over their own daughter!" she yelled pushing the table in her room and smashing the glass jar of water in the room. "M-madam please calm down " her personal maid said trying to calm her down . "Don't you dare tell me to calm down! do you Know the gravity of the situation, they're going to get Anaiah engage to Kaden, a billionaire I've been in love with since when I was little!" she burst out with her chest puffing. Alessandra who was told by one of the servants came in right away to see the mess her daughter had created."What's going on here?" she questioned confused looking around. "How can you do this to me , tell me mom what the f**k is going on in here!" she said with restrained anger. "Language young lady" she scolded glaring at her."I don't care about any damn language!, You know how much I love Kaden how can you let such an opportunity slide by just to give it to a mere stranger!" she seethed. Alessandra sighed and explained "That's because this situation is not permanent, we're trying to get Anaiah married to Kaden because of a business deal which would be broken off after a year". Wendy calmed down a bit but still retorted"then take me instead, I promise I'll do everything that I'm supposed to do for this deal to work". She didn't care in which situation, deal or not she would want stand beside Kaden."No! there's no way I'm going to let you do such a thing"she objected quickly. She will never let her daughter do anything as such never!. "Why?" Wendy asked with a hurt expression, she didn't get why her own parents would choose someone over her unless they don't love her."That's because we want Kaden to cherish you when he finally marries you after the deal , Anaiah is just for a deal but you're for his life time"she lied. Wendy exhaled through her mouth ' so all these was to make way for her' . She smiled at the realization and said "then I'll get ready for the dinner with my future in-laws". Alessandra held back an urge to roll her eyes and smiled before walking out. It was finally time and Anaiah reluctantly dragged her feet down the stairs, she was scared because her first encounter with Kaden wasn't good. She was running away from vampires not knowing she met a much more dangerous one. She swallowed hard when she saw all of them elegantly dressed and descended the stairs. Jeremy was gazing at her with a proud look whiles Alessandra's own was as if she was a sacrificial lamb, and worst of all Wendy as if she was some prostitute who has snatched her husband. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves she finally reached the last stairs and joined them as they all finally left together. Reece was not surprised when a dress was brought to her room for her to put on for the dinner. She knew her father always had his way because he was a close acquaintance of Mella.
The Morisson's arrived at the venue and Anaiah's heart couldn't stop thumping, her heart was beating so fast that she was scared that it might jump out. 'Would it be selfish of her if she sprints off?'she thought. Breathing in and out, she felt a harsh push on her back which made her almost fell but caught herself in time before turning to glare at Wendy who gave her a charming smile. However she didn't give her the satisfaction of her actions and ignored her , straightened her dress and walked away with her head held high. Wendy gritted her teeth but felt a light pat on her back which reminded her of her mother's words .
The venue was a seven star hotel, undoubtedly one of the best in the country. A man dressed in black suit bowed down to greet them before leading them to the elevator. They arrived at huge room decorated from it's entrance to the end, it gave off the feeling of a happy union which was far from it . Because Anaiah was feeling nostalgic already, she looked and saw a long table with decor-"Jeremy!" an old woman dressed fashionably with sharp body features called. Anaiah looked at the source of the voice , even though she was old she was still beautiful." Constencia!"Jeremy called and smiled. Some women dressed in black and white arrived in time to pull the chairs for them as each one of them sat down. Anaiah looked around checking where the other family members were.Constencia noticed her looking around and said smiling awkwardly " They haven't arrived yet, they might be caught in traffic". Alessandra arched a brow 'was that even possible ' she thought but still didn't say anything because it was a mere excuse since everyone knew that the Welcher's didn't go according to the laws in the country. 'Thank God he's not in yet, I pray he never reaches here' Anaiah silently prayed. She wouldn't mind if he was even engaged in an accident.
