Chapter 20

Calhoun's eyes widened when he heard what the vampire noble said.

Monica as a vampire bride?

That sounded more like a death sentence!

Calhoun didn't know what would entail after someone became a vampire bride. But he knew nothing good would come out of it because he was a hundred percent sure that Monica would be turned into a vampire when she agreed to be one.

'Fuck, I can't let that happen. Celine will cry again knowing this,' Calhoun thought.

He was reminded of her tears, and Calhoun clenched the tree trunk until his sharp nails pierced the bark. He gritted his teeth, wondering if he should jump in to stop whatever ceremony they had right now and rescue Monica.

'That would be foolish,' Calhoun thought. 'I can fight those hordes of vampires by myself or that vampire noble alone. But if they all gang up on me, then I might actually lose my life.'
