Plan for the Future

With a sense of warping, Mark appeared in a cave. The cave was a dark grey color, and it had a damp odor. From were Mark could see, the entrance to the cave was about five meters from him. Outside of the cave was grassy hill with the occasional tree. Currently the it was daytime outside so he could see clearly. Farther inside the cave was too dark to see, and it gave off an eerie feel.

'So this is Pass's dimension,' thought Mark. "What do we do now Pass?"

[Become stronger] curtly replied Pass.

"How?" asked Mark.

[For starters, choose an element to align yourself with]

"What element?"

[Choose between air, earth, fire, or water]

"Which one will help me survive the most?"

[That depends on how you use it. Each element has its own unique spells that can be helpful for survival]

Since they could all help with his survival, he decided to choose the one that he liked the most. The only memory he had of fire was it burning down the orphanage, so that was a no, air and earth didn't leave him with any impression, and he liked water. Every time he felt like he would die of dehydration, but managed to find water, the surge of joy that came from it gave him another reason to live. If he had to say he loved something, the only thing he could say he loved would be water.

*Flashback*

The boy was feeling dehydrated as it hadn't rained for weeks. All of the water he had collected and saved to survive on was all gone by now.

This wasn't the first time it hadn't rained for weeks, so he would normally search places such as in the trash bin or puddle. However, this time a lady was looking for him.

He knew she was looking for him from the little bits and pieces of conversation he could understand, such as boy, ugly, and disgusting.

He doesn't like other humans in general, but he doesn't like females even more due to an incident right before his orphanage burned down. The female that was looking for him even looked similar the female in the incident. It was what other people would consider as a kind and forgiving face, but he could only see a face that showed the person was intent on hurting him, so he ran.

He ran, he ran, and he ran as much as his small and weak body could, afraid that if the lady found him, his survival would end. At the end of his running, when he thought he was far enough away, there was no water.

Scared that he would die without water, which he learned at the orphanage, he began to wander while looking for water. While he was looking for water he could see tall buildings, a bright blue sky, people bustling about, cars zooming past, and water. He ran toward the water and tried to grab ahold of it, but his body was flung away before he could.

"Disgusting boy! Stay away. Don't come close to us," the person that kicked him said. He whimpered away, now realizing that there was a human holding the water in his hand. Finding no water that wasn't held of near a human, he continued to wander, albeit with less wonder for the world around him.

Soon three days past, but he still couldn't get any water. On his last string, he laid flat on the ground, unwillingly. When his vision went dark, and he thought he would see darkness for the rest of eternity, something cold hit his cheek.

*End flashback*

With that in mind he was pretty sure he would pick water, but first,

"What is a spell?"

[A spell is the creation or manipulation of an element]

"Does that mean I can create water for me to drink?"

[Yes, if you have enough mana, and before you ask, check the screen in your soul]

Viewing inside of his soul was never very hard for him, so the screen appeared quickly.

Name: Mark

Profession: Null

Health-100 *health is how healthy the body is, and how much damage it can take* (100 years)

Mana-30 *the mental energy required for spells*

Constitution-10 *constitution is the quantification of your bodies health, and it determines how much health you have and how fast it naturally regenerates. It also affects how long your bodies natural age is*

Strength-4 *strength is the quantification of how much power your body can use, it determines the damage caused by physical contact*

Speed-5 *speed is the quantification of how fast you can move, and your reaction rate*

Intelligence-3 *intelligence is the quantification of your knowledge, and it determines how much mana you have and how fast it naturally regenerates*

Will-20 *wisdom is the quantification of your willpower, and it has various effects, the main one being the power of spells relative to the amount of mana used to cast them*

"I'll go with water then," Mark was glad to always have a source of water.

[Updating data due to moving dimension and aligning with an element]

[Updating complete]

Mark looked at the updated screen.

Name: Mark

Profession: Null

Health-100

Mana-30

Constitution-10

Strength-4

Speed-5

Intelligence-3

Will-20

Abilities:

Minimal Regeneration(Rank 1, Level 1 0%)- The bodies natural healing is minimally improved.

Light Marking(Rank 1, Level 1 0%)-The ability to mark something. At the current rank, only things within the visible spectrum can be marked.

Water Manipulation(No Rank, Level 1 0%)-The ability to create and manipulate water. With higher levels all spells related to water will be cast faster and take less mana.

"Why did my data improve and where did the abilities come from?" Mark asked with a questioning tone, because anything that has to do with his data could affect his survival.

[Your data improved after your body was reconstructed, and the abilities are either traits of yourself or your alignment. Minimal Regeneration and Light Marking come from you, while Water Manipulation came from your alignment with water]

"Then what is the rank and level?"

[The rank is determined by how powerful the ability can become. Level is the amount of power the ability currently exhibits, when it increases, the power of the ability will increase. The level is increased by familiarizing yourself with the ability and using it. Rank can be increased by a rare inspiration or by levelling an ability past its max]

'The first thing I need to do is find myself a supply of food, since I can make my own food, and this cave can serve as shelter,' thought Mark.

"Can I absorb things as a source of food?" Mark questioned Pass.

[You can, however this dimension has new different laws then your previous, so absorbing mass will require mana]

'It seems like mana will be needed to survive in this dimension,' Mark was now planning on how to survive longer. Mana was needed for almost everything, so he it was necessary for him to increase his mana. Constitution should also be increased so that his natural lifespan would increase.

Now that he was in a new dimension, it was time to train to increase his survival.

Gotta' have an info dump on the first chapter :)
