I watched through my window as slowly the usual routine of the house continued. Servants came and went and spoke freely about the weather and what was expected for dinner and lunch.
They whispered everything but the one thing I knew they wanted to talk about. Maybe it was out of respect for their boss, or it was just pity, but I was genuinely grateful it wasn't the topic of discussion.
Granted, Zino had given me one or two stern stares. She even went as far as rolling her eyes when I passed, but that was only because she knew she was the only person that could get away with it and also because she had become very fond of Maria.
