Learning New Things (Part: 2) [Unedited]

•SilverLake Forest•

Lira lay on the grass for a long time, her eyes closed. Her breathing was slow and even-tempered, but not shallow. Her hands were on her stomach and her chest moved slightly.

Owen was looking at her, making sure the wolf was properly cooked. He'd met very few people who remembered their past lives, with the majority of them being degenerative idiots.

Only one in ten were serious and wise, making the most of their second chance. He wasn't particularly interested in the subject. Reincarnation was simply the placement of a soul inside a new body. That was the overly simplified version.

The only thing he'd say is that they're not completely unaware of their situation. There is nothing you can do to help yourself before a certain age.

Before a certain age, no matter how talented a child is, they are still a helpless child. They have no idea how the world works or how people can be at times.

He was drawn to Lira because she could use Aether and was astute when necessary. Her mood swings at the drop of a hat, but he can handle it.

She also didn't appear to be the type to want to take over the world, which she wasn't. Lira was a simple girl who was also greedy. He just hoped she could make up for her greed later.

After a while, Lira noticed a floating orb in front of her. She looked around and found... nothing. It was nothing more than a golden orb floating in an infinite void.

'Damn, am I really that simple?' The girl laughed because she knew what was coming. When she looked up, she noticed dozens of other orbs.

Lira had not expected her soul to be so lovely. It was like a golden sun in the middle of nothingness. There was an orange gem floating around her's.

It represented the fact that she has a contract with Owen. The contract will be broken if it is broken. Changing the environment around one's soul takes a lot of time and effort.

It's supposed to be a place where you feel most at home. A tranquil retreat from the outside world. Your body will remain, but your mind should be at ease.

"Seventy-seven." She said this while looking at all of the souls. Lira sighed and hurled thirty of them into hers. As she awoke, she was flooded with energy.

There was too much World Energy and Aether coursing through her body as a result of using all of those souls. It was a small sum, but she had never done anything like it before. So it would take some time for her body to adjust.

It was stupid of her to use more than one soul because it was her first time, but she couldn't help herself. She directed the extra energy to her Energy Channels and relaxed as she felt it dissipate.

It wasn't a bad sensation. Your body is being flooded with an unholy amount of adrenaline.

"Wow, I'm not sure if you're stupid or drave taking in that many souls at once for the first time." Owen stated. "Well, you are a Niflheim, so these things should be national to you."

"Shut up and take forty, and I'll give you that book." Lira sat up, groaning. She looked at the mean, who was sitting inside a stone bowl in front of her. "How did you manage to move it?"

"Ask no questions." Owen flew ahead of her to his own plate, but there were fruits on it. "As well as here."

On top of her other book, a book with a black cover and pages appeared next to her. Several orbs flew from her body into Owen's, causing him to sigh.

His souls began to mend for the first time in a long time. The difference was barely discernible because it was only forty human souls, but it was there. His soul was using Lira's as a sort of crotch to ensure that his didn't get worse, but it also didn't get better.

He just needed to gather as many souls as he could while avoiding going all out in battle, which wouldn't be ideal. Even if he used Lira to keep himself alive, his progress would slow and possibly worsen.

Lira was reading her new books while the man ate his meal, very slowly for obvious reasons. What she discovered confirmed a few of her theories as well.

To begin, Aether was an energy that was linked to everything. And she is everything to me. The elements it controls are simply a means of reducing it to mortal use. The more one understands it, the more one's connection to reality will improve.

Owen is simply able to control fire when he does it; he can control the heat something emits, feeling how hot it is without even approaching it, and he can even see it. Of course, there are constraints.

For example, he can only manipulate the heat of Lira's flames when she isn't focused on it. A significant setback in the battle for both parties. Fighting requires more than just physical strength; it also requires strategy and the ability to make quick decisions.

In battle, one must maintain their focus. It has the potential to mean the difference between life and death.

Aether can be used for anything, including magic, cultivation, and strength. From what she's seen so far, its applications are limitless. She also learns how to use it more effectively in combat and when developing her Energy Channels.

However, only in the last few chapters of the book does she say something very interesting and expresses a strong desire to try it out. If it doesn't work, she'll just have to take a few hours nap.

Lire sat there, her eyes closed. First, she bubbled up about half of her World Energy. She wasn't concerned with condensing it, just gathering enough information in one place.

Then she poured some Aether into it.

Owen Evergreen came up with the name "Juice and Sugar Method" for the concert. And what a fantastic name he came up with! (Sarcasm).

Contrary to its name, the consent was exactly what it sounded like. She imagined her World Energy as 'juice,' and Aether as'sugar.' When sugar is added to juice, it becomes sweeter; when she incorporates Aether into World Energy, it becomes purer.

It sounds like it's been assaulted, and it is. Well, sort of. It has its highs and lows. One of them is that she loses Aether. However, it may not appear to be worthwhile. World Energy is mostly used to fortify things and boost abilities.

Lira is unsure because she is relying on her knowledge, but if one had the option of using an ability with many limitations or an energy that allows them to manipulate all basic elements at the start, she would choose the latter.

Unless the ability is also broken, the answer is obvious. But it's still an amazing thing.

Lira expended half of her Aether, resulting in a very pure 80 percent of her World Energy. She sent some into her channels and 'watched' as it gradually faded as it moved through them.

The same thing happened when she sent some Aether. Lira alternated between the two until she was completely exhausted.

The girl sat on the grass and painted. Sweet also covers the majority of her body.

"There's so much to do," she said.

"How did you like your sixteen hours of training, Little One?" Owen stated that he was sitting on her leg.

"Eh!" She shot back up, her gaze fixed on the owl. It only felt like a few seconds, but it felt like an eternity. She'd never been able to lose track of time while working on her Energy Channels. That only occurs when she meditates.

Lira rested on the grass for a while, replenishing her reserves.

"You were working on that for over sixteen hours, Little One." Owen gave a nod. "You should consider yourself fortunate because it could have been much worse."

Lira frowned, having never felt so rushed. Normally, she is aware of how much time has passed, but not today. She wondered if it had anything to do with the fact that she used purer World Energy. That had to be it. Her channels, on the other hand, grow quite nicely.

Lira sat there, contemplating everything she needed to do. She frowned as she looked at Owen.

"So, uhm. Is it true that removing this bracket will cause my drain to explode?" She inquired. Owen looked at her and sent a World Energy pulse into her body.

She could have stopped it by sending her own, but instead she let him do his thing.

"Unfortunately, no and yes." Lira sighed deeply. Many of her questions were answered, but she still had a lot of issues to deal with. "Someone inserted Fire Runes into the bracelet, which will explode if removed. You can't possibly survive the blast, especially up close."

This wasn't so bad after all. It could have been so much worse. Lira smiled and cast a glance toward the lake. Owen froze and started sweating.

"Don't dare, it's far too dangerous." Owen tutored the young lady.

"Hm?" She fixed her gaze on him. "How did you find out what I was thinking?"

"The contract states that we will share our thoughts and memories if you wish. I didn't look into your memories because I thought it was a good idea; I expected you to do the same."

Lira blinked, but a smile crept across her lips. It wasn't just her mischievousness. It was a sincere smile. Few people have witnessed it because Lira rarely smiled.

She would bottle up her feelings and keep them hidden from others. Marry was the only one who was able to calm her down. Lira is soothed by something about the woman.

She, too, never really questioned it. Lira would simply enjoy the sensation. She feels like she's having a good time with Seth and Michael. To do something that would land them in hot water. Owen had a fatherly aura about him. He was no softie; he would destroy entire kingdoms if they became a treat.

He did, however, care about his daughter. That was obvious, and he did it. Owen had dedicated his life to ensuring his daughter's happiness following her birth.

"What's the deal with your smile?" Owen inquired.

"Nothing at all. Please disregard my presence." Lira motioned him away. Her plan was to plunge her hand into the lake and destroy the bracelet in the water.

Her hope was that the water, as well as the explosion, would freeze her arm, or that she would remove her arm and throw it into the water. They could both work. She didn't have to worry about her arm because Aether would regenerate it.

"Is there any way to remove the bracelets?" She inquired.

"Most likely, but we'll need to return to the tower. There is a connection between the bracelet and the tower, so it is under the control of something there." Owen stated.

"What are your thoughts on that?" Lira inquired.

"You can see it if you send World Energy to your eyes. It is the same with any other type of energy. I'm surprised you haven't tried it."

"Be quiet." Lira threw a rock at him, which he threw into the lake using Earth Magic.

Lira did as he instructed, sending World Energy into her eyes. When World Energy was just passing through them, they glowed brighter than before. He was now keeping it there.

She looked around and noticed that the world was much more vibrant than before. Lira examined her bracelet and noticed a line on World Energy and Elemental Energy leading to the cave's roof and, most likely, the tower.

Her eyes returned to normal, and the world around her did as well.

"Are you hungry?" Lira inquired, covering herself in Aether.

"I don't need food, but sure." Owen nodded and followed suit. They dove into the lake, and Lira extracted some wolf meat. Life Owen was going to cook it, and she was curious about the people in the lake.
