CH367. Follow this procedure

"Xiao Xiao, did he force you to go back? Did he threaten you?" Lu Min Chen asks her almost quietly.

And his heart clenches at the thought. Is the old man still after her?

But Ye Xiao Xiao dies not say anything to him. Literally, she does not know what to say to him.

The things that are happening are just too much. But she hopes that she makes it in life. She prays that she stays at peace until the end.

"Xiao Xiao, talk to me please," Lu Min Chen says in a giving up tone. He is not even able to protect his wife. Is he even a man?

"If you do not want to go in there, do not go. I am here to protect you. He will not do anything to you," he says.

"He did but force me," Ye Xiao Xiao says at last. "I just decided to finish what I began. I am fine."

How will he protect her when she cannot even tell him that she is pregnant?

And her reply hurts Lu Min Chen a lot. He knows pretty well that she is lying to him.

Ye Xiao Xiao assumes his look and kisses his cheeks. "I love you hubby," she says with a forced smile and begins walking towards the lab.

Lu Min Chen pulls her back, turning her to face him. "Xiao Xiao, you are hiding something from me," he says. "What is it? Do not be afraid of my grandfather. I will protect you. Just tell me the truth, okay?"

Ye Xiao Xiao freezes for some seconds. Then she flashes him a smile once again. "I am really fine," she says.

Lu Min Chen watches defeatedly as she walks away. And he feels like the greatest failure in this world.

He knows that she is hiding something from him. And his mind tells him that it is not something minor.

But he cannot tell what it is. Could there be anything more from  being forced to work in that lab?

Just as Ye Xiao Xiao reaches the door to the lab, her phone vibrates.

She wants to assume it. Recently, she hates all kinds of communications. She wants to stay alone and do her things. That is what life has fine to her.

But something inside her tells her to look at her phone. And she stops to do it.
